01:09:323 (2) - ending feels a bit odd. i preffer a half beat slider and a single beat at 01:09:807 - but a repeater could also work
01:17:065 (2) - same as last entry. ending feels a bit off. replaced with half beat slider and a single beat at 01:17:549 -
01:21:541 (1) - jump might be a bit to far for a novice

01:33:033 (2) - Should not be a reverse slider. Make it one slider from 01:33:033 - to 01:33:275 - and add a fruit at 01:33:517 - That is a consistency. Check the pattern 2 before.
01:34:001 - Why did you skip this beat??? Add fruit here... whoopsie
01:34:605 (3) - zz missed beat start of the slider should be at 01:34:484 - Even if you didn't miss the beat and purposely put the slider like that there still should be a beat at 01:34:484 - it is okay to skip this one 01:36:420 - since there is no beat on it and it was clear you what you were following. Changed this up slightly. Basically, I followed the pattern before while hitting the strong instrumental beat.
REMEMBER this is a Cup, meaning you should't have to use 1/4. Cup difficulties use basic beats nothing complicated. I don't see any 1/4 gaps in here. I think what you're confused about is that when they reference 1/4 in the criteria, they mean 1/4 between two seperate objects, not on 1/4 ticks. The smallest gap is a 1/2.

01:42:226 (3) - If you shorten this slider to 01:42:468 - add a reverse and then add a fruit at 01:42:952 - I think this would fit the song better. Oops, 01:42:226 (3) should be a 1/1 slider to stay the same as the previous soft part.

01:47:912 (2) - This is offbeat, it should start at 01:48:033 - and end at 01:48:517 - Ok, changed.

You need to remember not to change beats in the middle of a section. It can be confusing for the player when each beat is on a kick and then suddenly it's on the saxophone. just something to keep in mind

[Overdose]
00:27:388 (7) - Not a fan of this, doesn't sound right to me. I think it should just be a single slider from 00:27:388 - to 00:27:710 - If others comment on it you might want to consider changing it. Changed to two circles.

01:36:420 (5) - Awkward jump, having to move to the right just after 01:36:178 (4) - feels weird. Removed because it sounds weird, too.


Pretty much it, nice to see that some slower parts of the song were mapped :) Yeah, it's sad that no one ever does :(

General

Check Ai Mod on all diffs because there are duplicates of timing points on each diff.

Your combo colors could be a little brighter because they blend a bit too much in with the background, even when 100% dimmed. Perhaps use these colors instead:

Spread-wise, wouldn't it make sense to make Wild's Salad AR 7?


Cup

Rhythm stuff:

01:04:484 (1) – I think just leaving where this spinner is un-mapped will give more emphasis to the song than a really short and kinda disorienting spinner.

01:33:033 (2) – You could make this a slider and a note so you can give emphasis on that main beat.

02:08:355 – A long spinner here that ends on 02:15:130 would work really well since the music is more building to the climax of the song than resting.

Pattern stuff:

00:08:355 (1,2) – Slider (2) doesn't play how it's supposed to like slider (1), but at the same time I'm not fond of the double anti-flow because a newer player is not going to expect it. Ctrl + H on (2) and put it on X=160 to fix.

01:11:259 (2) – Because these reverse sliders are completely horizontal, the anti-flow on this slider is bit hard for a newer player to suddenly catch. I'd Ctrl+G the slider and place on X=408 to fix, and then adjust distances to the next pattern.

02:04:484 (1,2) – Increase distance in between these because there's an awkward pause causing a flow break. Move 02:05:452 (2,1) to X=328.

02:30:613 (3,4,1) – Another flow break in between (3) and (4). Move 02:31:097 (4,1) to X=168 for emphasis but also so it's walk-able.

03:02:186 (1) – I don't think a newer player is gonna be able to catch the droplets easily on the sharp curve very well, so try to make the curve less or adjust the angle so the droplets dont fall so weird.


Wild's Salad

00:00:614 (1,2) – The spacing is a bit weird here, the player almost has to pause to catch (2) and that breaks flow. It would be a good idea to move (2) to X=144 to make spacing clearer.

00:06:904 (2,1,2) – I'm not really fond of the stacking on (1) because it kinda breaks flow for the pattern change.

00:31:581 (1,2) – Again with this stacking^ it breaks flow.

01:58:678 (1,2) - ^ Again here too.


Platter

00:40:170 (3,4,1) – Okay, (3) plays like a really weird vertical slider and then makes it awkward to flow into (4). I think it would be better to make (3) an anti-flow slider to give it some emphasis on the vocal or make it antiflow on (4) to the left of slider (3).

01:12:710 (2,3) – Increase the distance between these somehow because it's not walk-able at 0.60x spacing without pausing to catch (3). Just make sure you don't make the next jump an edge dash while doing so.

01:13:678 (4,1) – This a kinda a big hyper-dash into anti-flow. I'd suggest reducing this this a bit so it's not so hard on the player would be a good idea.

01:19:243 (6) - … Wut? This doesn't even match anything in the music/vocal and reads more as they have to stop to catch. Why not just follow the vocal?

01:24:686 (3,4) – This problem here is similar to before with the spacing being hard to be walk-able at it's current spacing, 0.70x, and needs the spacing to be increased.

01:25:775 (1) – This should have some more movement by making it a bit more horizontal to match the strong saxophone/wind instrument sounds here.

02:18:517 (3,4,5) – Reduce spacing a bit between (3) and (4) because it's a bit hard to recover because of the anti-flow. I'd recommend using 1.90x or 1.80x spacing here.

02:25:533 (3,1) – That's a 1/4th h-dash and the BPM is over 120, so this is not rank-able.

02:26:622 (4,5) – It's the walk-ability issue again, this needs the spacing increased so there's no flow break here.


Rain

I don't even know where to start with this one because there's nothing I can give specific issue with.... * rubs my temples in contemplation *

I'll make a list then of what is problematic in general and will cause a lot of need for remap:

1. Note density is so random it makes it so the AR in some spots would be appropriate for readability but then it switches into 1/1 and basic 1/ 2 patterns where AR 8.8 would be more appropriate. Examples would be at 00:06:420 to 00:08:839 – that AR 9 feels appropriate but then sections like at 00:19:968 to 00:33:275 feel like they would be slower. The only way I can see fixing this is to make the ¼ slider spam sections, such as the entire lead in section, be remapped with notes and using simpler patterns (Curved streams or plate walk streams). The reason the 1/ 4 sliders are problematic at times is because it slows down the flow on plate-walks and I'll cover that more in next bullet.
2. The ¼ slider spam is murdering the flow of this Rain. Especially in the beginning and the kiais because the 1.00x spacing feels really slow for a plate-walk due to the AR 9. Since some of the patterns are too complex, I can;t say to use AR 8.8 to fix.
3. You have a lot of sliders ending on large white ticks where there should be emphasis because it's a very missed opportunity to make your mapping more complex and interesting. (Also, it triggers a lot of modders to see slider tails on main beats)

I can't really do much helpful other than this list, rip.


Overdose

I can't mod overdoses....

00:27:589 (8) – This sounds a tad early to me when listening at 25% speed and should be on 00:27:630 which is a 1/6th mark. (Noticed while I was kinda glancing over the diff for RC stuff)

02:08:355 – A long spinner here that ends on 02:15:130 would work really well since the music is more building to the climax of the song than resting. I feel the long spinner is kind of strange and disrupting to the mostly note-dominated song. I mapped until 02:07:872. (It's important to note that the drumbeat stops here, which I have been following.)

Pattern stuff:

I would say that the note density follows the song. It is unfortunate because the song has such large differences in texture and note density throughout the song (hence, why most people don't map the verses). As a mapper, I tend to follow the vocals/instruments on higher diffs as well as drumbeats, but prioritize instruments as they are usually louder. I will simplify the beginning because I realize myself holy crap why are there hypers in the beginning where it's soft. The kiais are meant to be harder with more complex patterns because they are a huge contrast in volume and density. While I will simplify some patterns, I'm generally going to keep this this same.

Again, at the calm parts, I understand that my patterns shouldn't be this hard. However, I feel that the patterns should be more challenging to the player. I have found some spots that need fine-tuning, but overall, this should be a step up from the platter.

I'm following the vocals and the instruments for much of this song. Especially the saxophone line after the choruses. Since I follow that phrasing, it sometimes sacrifices main beats in order to get the note lengths correct. Although I may change some things, I really feel it's important to follow the phrase, rather than the beat here.

  1. Spinners over diffs are placed are randomly on Cup you have 3, Wild uses only 1 then Platter hits again 3 spinners then on Rain you drop to 1 spinner and on overdose to 0 (which is against guidelines in this case). And on the 2nd overdose Kyptoric found place for 5 spinners.

    I would like to see some more spinners on Salad and at least one on Overdose and that should fix the problem (I will point where to add in difficulties mod)

Because I follow the music and the beat in the Overdose, I don't think a spinner fits anywhere. However, if Wild and Kyp can do whatever the hell they want.

    I would like to see some more spinners on Salad and at least one on Overdose and that should fix the problem (I will point where to add in difficulties mod)

  4. 00:34:243 (4) - feels like should be reverse added but it might be just be me No, I think it fits better this way.
  5. 01:04:484 (1,2) - consider replacing it with spinner, the slider doesn't bring much here tbh I think that actually the slider works quite nicely. I don't think this justifies such a short spinner.
  6. 01:21:299 (3) - actually feels better on the left side of previous fruit (flows better) and placing at x:56 triggers a nice hyperdash True.

  4. 01:09:323 (3) - might be controversial but placing it at x:440 makes pattern plays better (tbh)okay
  5. 01:29:162 (6,7) - try this placing (6) x:496 (7) x:264. That will create a basic hyperchain which fits perfectly okay.
  6. 01:46:823 (6,1) - that feels too tigh for 'normal' jump, reduce distance or make it hyperdash Lowered distance because I didn't want the calm section to have an extra hyper.
  7. 02:16:944 (8,1) - feels like perfect spot for hyperdash Okay, distance increased.

  3. 01:22:630 (3,4,1) - that anti-flow jump feels uncomfortable I would place (1) on x:80 - I Ctrl + G'ed instead
  4. 03:01:823 (3,4,1) - same as before but now I would decrease distance between (3) and (4) - ^
  5. 03:31:339 - actually all other are ending at 03:33:517 -, I think you should end it here too q.q (with spinner at 03:31:339 - to 03:33:517 - ) - Nah I prefer not to do this.

  3. 00:51:178 (2,3) - half of distance feels not good to me. If you find it difficult to change, you may move all following notes till 01:04:001 (4) - leftward so other structures won't be affected.
  4. 01:26:622 (3) - This slider is too vertical I think. Almost no movement and not fitting the atmosphere you are making in this section. Moving it to x176 and move its tail to (256,176) might be a solution.
  5. 01:40:170 (3) - Is this sound actually following something? At least it should be snapped at 01:40:130 - to follow the vocal. 40ms difference really is a thing. And you should move 01:40:130 (3,4) - more leftward to avoid edge jump between 01:39:565 (2,3) - because of the rhythm change.
  6. 01:49:847 (2,3) - 0.5x distance seems quite small. Move 01:50:210 (3,1) - together to x328 for 3 (which also means x72 for 1) to gain a bit more distance.
  7. 02:04:001 (4,1,2) - Isn't this too difficult when compared to the rest of this Platter? I mean the jump 02:04:484 (1,2) - after that HDash with opposite direction is kinda relatively hard to operate. I think this jump should be nerfed.
  8. 02:22:872 (3) - The only HDash in this kiai, so I think you should leave more space for players instead of making an almost vertical slider and easy for players to drop acc here. I suggest move slider tail more rightward and make a direct turn back to left like the mirror of 02:27:468 (1) - .

I moved it to a 1/6 snap so it landed on 01:40:130 instead, which directly follows the voice (at least with an offset of less than +/- 5ms.) While I would usually say that i'm trying to fit a 1/4 snap, I suppose it would be nice.

@Kyptoric: actually, RC has specified that 1/4 is ok IF it is below 240bpm. You can change it if you want but this is really close to 120 as well so I wouldn't be too worried.

As part of a M4M i am here to mod some diffs.

Platter
00:19:605 (1) - I feel this causes an uncomfortable change in flow, i would make this a vertical slider so it plays a bit better
00:23:355 (5) - odd spacing here, i would move this closer to previous slider so it's more easily walkable
00:44:162 (3,4,5,6) - these are awkwardly spaced to me since they seem like they should be walked but it's tricky to just walk, would reduce the spacing here
00:44:888 (6) - i feel the patterns here shoould be changed to give this note more emphasis
00:54:807 (1,2,3,4) - i feel like the spacing on these jumps is a bit excessive, i would reduce a bit
01:00:613 (1,2,3,4) - i would reduce the spacing for the walking here so it's a bit more comfortable
01:21:541 (4) - is this meant to be walked or dashed? if walked, reduce the spacing a bit, if dash, increase it a bit so it's more obvious
01:48:033 (4,5) - the downbeat betwween these should be mapped with at least a circle
02:04:726 (2) - spacing between this and the previous note should be reduced a bit for leniency
02:23:839 (1) - there not being a hyper to this feels weird since at the end of the kiai there was a hyper to the last note in the section
03:29:646 (1) - jump to this should be reduced a bit, seems kinda harsh
03:29:888 (2) - jump to this should be reduced for leniency

Overall i think this diff is good, just spacing can feel a bit excessive at times. The last kiai can have a harder spacing overall for intensity purposes but i feel the earlier parts should be a bit easier. :P
