3 is a range that has a span of 0, beginning with 3 and ending with 3. Congratulations.

"I can play 3 star maps" which implies 3.00-3.99
Hey if more people think this way then it's actually going to create fun threads in G&R, but I think it's better to take such statements as approximations (important when going above the stated value but it's not even related)
Dexus wrote:
"I can play 3.00 star maps" being specific here which gives clarity
It does, however that clarity should be worthless as 3 is equal to 3.00. I do assume that you know that - You seem to just have a different set of rules which is why I'm not trying to argue anything (can't either way)

it seems like a non-issue, unless you have a better way to say a range in shorthand?
The issue should already be evident as it allows threads like this one to exist and creates potential for confusion.
"n" ranges in osu have changed their
hidden span of star difficulty to a more clear one. This thread was created because of confusion from this change.
My point is that for clarity, ranges should have their span stated before you open them. Not, for example, "5 stars" which was 4.50 - 5.49 and is 5.00 - 5.99.
Just state it on the HUGE box before it gets clicked. There is enough space for
<1
1 - 1.99
2 - 2.99
etc.
