thank you sir, we are ready to go now

Now for the fun task of finding mods....
Mir
First mod. RIP.

From my queue.~

Really nice song, and well-made mapset. I couldn't find too much worth mentioning.

Lanturn’s Normal

Normal

  1. 01:30:954 (2,3) – Is this meant to be blanketed? It’s way off if it is.

    Otherwise, nothing here.

Mystery’s Hard

Hard

  1. 00:16:911 (4,3) – Stack these? 00:18:826 (3) with slider end.
  2. 00:31:273 (1,3) – Stack these too?

    Not much here either.

Starlight

Starlight

  1. 00:11:486 (1,2) – These can both be reduced to the red ticks. They practically ask for a sliderbreak.
  2. 00:30:316 (5) – Why a red anchor? It looks fine as a straight slider. Your choice.
  3. 01:22:975 (1,3) – Try to make this more symmetrical?
  4. 01:29:996 (1,2) – Idk about this overlap, up to you if you want to keep it but you could do something like this: https://puu.sh/rCSCP/ee127952a2.png

hi!! NM from my queue, you won the lottery.
  • [Starlight]
  1. 00:11:805 (2) - NC this to inform of the 3/4 slider? These sliders look terribly close to 1/2s.
  2. 00:13:081 (4,5,6) - seems like these notes are in the same synth pattern so 4 should be a slider as well. If you map (5) as a 1/2 slider because there's a sound here 00:13:560 - then (6) should be a circle because there isn't a sound on the sliderend of 6. Same thing applies to similar patterns in the structure (namely 00:16:911 (4,5,6) - 00:39:890 (4,5,6) - )
  3. 00:29:837 (2,3,4,5) - the difficulty here is a quite a spike compared to the surroundings. Consider nerfing the spacing here a little because there are more circles to click.
  4. 00:48:986 (2,3) - flow here seems a bit blunt, maybe ctrl+j?
  5. 00:53:294 (4,5,6) - It might be worth NCing 4 to say that you're following something else rather than the piano. If you do so don't forget to fix 00:57:124 (6) - . Don't worry about your NC-every-2-downbeat pattern since you do have a pattern this way too.
  6. 01:10:528 (5) - I think this note should have more emphasis than the rest of the jumps.
  7. 00:58:082 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - 00:59:996 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - same with these, I think such spacing should be used for the kiai part.
  8. 01:07:017 (1) - consider reducing the volume on the sliderhead even more as it's mapped to a sound that starts out faint.
  9. 01:52:337 (2) - not entirely sure what this sliderhead is mapped to because vocals would stress the downbeat 01:52:656 - instead. Try sth like this https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/6282763 ?
  10. 01:52:975 (3) - I think it fits the music the better to have this as a stream as it is the climax.
  11. 01:53:613 (1) - this note doesn't exist btw.
    [A Mystery's Hard]
  12. 00:14:039 (1) - (and also 00:17:869 (1) - ) I think this tick with the piano 00:14:358 - is stronger than where the sliderend is right now, so skipping it might confuse the player.
  13. 00:49:464 (4,5,6) - I think since this follows a different instrument than 00:48:508 (1,2,3) - this it's more justifiable to have a different shape. I'd like to hear your opinion on this. 00:49:145 (3,1) - btw don't think this is a problem but there's a really faint overlap here.
  14. 01:08:294 (3,6) - slight overlap that I think you can clean it up.
  15. 01:10:528 (4,5,6) - since 01:09:571 (1,2,3) - this follows the vocals and (4,5,6) follow the very faint hi-hats i guess reducing the spacing for (4,5,6) might be an option? Same here 01:18:188 (4,5,6) - 01:25:847 (4,5,6) -
  16. 01:41:166 (3,1) - small overlap that you can fix.
  17. 01:52:656 (3,4,5) - since it's actually 1/3s you probably want to map this differently.

    [Lanturn's Normal]
  18. 01:18:188 (3,1) - Since these two objects are mapped to different things (3 is to the percussion, 1 is to the vocal) so I don't think it's justified to make a symmetry pattern out of it . Also I'd suggest this rhythm https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/6282983 , circle is mapped to the percussion and slider is mapped to the vocal, that sounds a bit better for me. 01:27:762 (4,1) - same thing . 01:42:124 (1) - same, I'd break this down to slider + circle.
    Otherwise really solid diff.
nice map, really clean and polished. Good luck!

  2. 00:31:273 (1,3) – Stack these too? - Unstacked on purpose (better readability)

  1. 00:14:039 (1) - (and also 00:17:869 (1) - ) I think this tick with the piano 00:14:358 - is stronger than where the sliderend is right now, so skipping it might confuse the player. - I think the slider end covering the soft drum in the background, and the louder piano note covered by a circle is the best way to map it. If you mean the white tick on which the slidertick is right now: I don't think that should get priority in this case.
  2. 00:49:464 (4,5,6) - I think since this follows a different instrument than 00:48:508 (1,2,3) - this it's more justifiable to have a different shape. I'd like to hear your opinion on this. 00:49:145 (3,1) - btw don't think this is a problem but there's a really faint overlap here. - I agree, but I kind of like the shape, and I still think it fits. I'll wait for more opinions on this. Also, the overlap is barely visible (again, the slider disappears already)
  3. 01:08:294 (3,6) - slight overlap that I think you can clean it up. - Fixed
  4. 01:10:528 (4,5,6) - since 01:09:571 (1,2,3) - this follows the vocals and (4,5,6) follow the very faint hi-hats i guess reducing the spacing for (4,5,6) might be an option? Same here 01:18:188 (4,5,6) - 01:25:847 (4,5,6) - I feel like using circles in general is kinda overkill for such soft sounds. I'm still going to use circles (I don't like making sliders everywhere), and I feel like keeping spacing consistent is not a problem in a hard diff.
  5. 01:41:166 (3,1) - small overlap that you can fix. - Fixed (wasn't really overlapping though)
  6. 01:52:656 (3,4,5) - since it's actually 1/3s you probably want to map this differently. - The 1/3 would be too hard to follow because the only pattern that would make sense would be a stream or 1/3 return sliders all over the place. Instead I'm following the drums which do make that rhythm pattern.
nice map, really clean and polished. Good luck!
Thanks for the mods.

there is no sound on the red ticks though, while the sound in the background is hed all the way till the next white tick, I think the current pattern represents the sound best.
  2. 00:30:316 (5) – Why a red anchor? It looks fine as a straight slider. Your choice. for flow reasons
  3. 01:22:975 (1,3) – Try to make this more symmetrical? ok

  1. 00:11:805 (2) - NC this to inform of the 3/4 slider? These sliders look terribly close to 1/2s. they already are their own combo though
  2. 00:13:081 (4,5,6) - seems like these notes are in the same synth pattern so 4 should be a slider as well. If you map (5) as a 1/2 slider because there's a sound here 00:13:560 - then (6) should be a circle because there isn't a sound on the sliderend of 6. Same thing applies to similar patterns in the structure (namely 00:16:911 (4,5,6) - 00:39:890 (4,5,6) - ) I tried listening to this part many times, but i do not hear sound on the red tick at 00:13:241 - while the following sliders do have sound on those ticks. same applies to the other spots
  3. 00:29:837 (2,3,4,5) - the difficulty here is a quite a spike compared to the surroundings. Consider nerfing the spacing here a little because there are more circles to click.
  4. 00:48:986 (2,3) - flow here seems a bit blunt, maybe ctrl+j? you are right, i did something else here
  5. 00:53:294 (4,5,6) - It might be worth NCing 4 to say that you're following something else rather than the piano. If you do so don't forget to fix 00:57:124 (6) - . Don't worry about your NC-every-2-downbeat pattern since you do have a pattern this way too. hmm, i am not sure aobut this, i will keep it in mind, I am just not a big fan of NC spam, if more people bring it up, i will change it
  6. 01:10:528 (5) - I think this note should have more emphasis than the rest of the jumps. changed this around some
  7. 00:58:082 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - 00:59:996 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - same with these, I think such spacing should be used for the kiai part. while I agree, I also think the intensity fits in this part, will reduce if more people have problems with this though.
  8. 01:07:017 (1) - consider reducing the volume on the sliderhead even more as it's mapped to a sound that starts out faint. ok
  9. 01:52:337 (2) - not entirely sure what this sliderhead is mapped to because vocals would stress the downbeat 01:52:656 - instead. Try sth like this https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/6282763 ?
  10. 01:52:975 (3) - I think it fits the music the better to have this as a stream as it is the climax. for the last 2 points, this part is following the piano, and i decided to make them into repeat sliders that have the same number of beats because 1/3 streams are not easy to play, and putting one at the end of the map would just piss players off.
  11. 01:53:613 (1) - this note doesn't exist btw. I hear something here for sure, but i reduced the spacing since the sound is not too strong
nice map, really clean and polished. Good luck!

[lanturn]
00:49:464 - why isn't there any note here?
01:02:869 (1) - idk if i like this spinner here, while it is a long and high vocal i don't think it deserves a spinner
01:20:103 (1) - ^
01:35:422 (1) - ^

[a mystery]
00:07:337 (2) - you could improve the last part of this slider, like this

[starlight]
00:07:975 (1) - you don't need this NC here, remove it
00:30:316 (5) - move the last white point down to x264 316? idk just a suggestion to make it look better in my opinion
00:30:954 (1) - as before, this NC is unnecessary so get rid of it pls
00:46:273 (1) - ^

good luck~
A Mystery
Nah, I kind of despise that shape, and don't like using it. The current shape is fine.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

I moved the white anchor some to try to improve the shape

thanks for the mod!

The blue combo colour kind of blends into the background. Maybe change it to a lighter shade of blue?

Looking good!

[A Mystery's Hard]
00:32:230 (3) - Could be moved on top of 00:31:273 (1) - ?
00:33:507 (2) - Could be moved on top of 00:32:549 (4) - ? (Move the whole diamond pattern accordingly if you apply this change)
00:47:550 (3) - Move on top of 00:46:593 (1) - ?
00:50:101 (6) - Add whistle hitsound

GL! :)
A Mystery
Added the whistle (and changed the sample set of those 2 circles to custom 2 for a basskick)
The non-stacked note are on purpose because it is easier to read and looks better in my opinion.

00:58:879 - I think you should add a beat here, you followed vocal,or delete 00:58:560 - beat.
01:00:794 - ^

[Hard]
00:45:475 (2) - for consistency with 00:40:848 (1,2) - 00:37:018 (1,2) - , I recommend you delete a beat.
00:53:613 - 00:53:932 - Why you ignored piano sound.
01:25:847 (4) - Do you think this part should be emphasized? I think it looks quiet, reduce DS.

[starlight]
00:07:496 - Why did you add beat here? I couldn't hear anything this part.
00:16:592 (3,4) - delete anti jump or 00:16:592 (3,4,5) - make anti jump.
00:35:741 (3,4,5) - ^
00:47:230 (3,4) - I think It could be hard to read, 00:47:071 (2,3,4) - Ds looks similar,
01:41:805 (7,1) - It looks difficult to read and play. could you reduce DS?
01:51:698 (1,2,3) - I think it is overlapping.

Good luck!

No changes from the mods on my end.

@Miryle: It's just following symmetry, not blanketing. Blanketing and having to deal with the notes after these wouldn't really work out, so it's intentionally not using a blanket here. ty though

@LMT: I actually do do this pattern many many times. I actually don't follow vocals 100% here, nor beat. It's actually a convenient blend of them making sure the priority is the kick and the clap and having the vocals almost be secondary. I also don't want to break up too many 2/1 sliders or it gets a bit complex to play. It's consistent as well so it shouldn't cause too many issues.

@Ethan
After the 6 circles in a row, I wanted the player to have a bit of recovery time, so I feel this note really isn't necessary to map. It is a good spot to add a note though.
While people may have concerns with the spinners. I feel like it's a good way to separate each section of the map and it provides some resting time during the kiai where all the notes have 1/1 gaps compared to the beginning where there is lots of 3/1 gaps.

@Annika Flina: thanks :3

@Neoskylove: For the first one, the held vocal doesn't really make the spot you specified that dominant so it can actually be left out without playing issues. The second one doesn't actually have vocals playing so an additional note doesn't work here either. Also I wanted to avoid using 1/2 notes in this difficulty. It's already 1.99 star rating

Thanks for looking at my map everyone! Some hitsound updates will follow (the clapping part at the start I forgot to swap customs.)

00:45:475 (2) - for consistency with 00:40:848 (1,2) - 00:37:018 (1,2) - , I recommend you delete a beat. - There is a distinguishable sound I was trying to represent though, which you cannot hear at the two spots with no extra circles.
00:53:613 - 00:53:932 - Why you ignored piano sound. - That's a triangle, and I like the short pause here.
01:25:847 (4) - Do you think this part should be emphasized? I think it looks quiet, reduce DS. - Slightly reduced it because the DS was higher than the previous similar parts. It is slightly larger because of the snare.

Good luck!

Oh my goodness. You expect me, a complete newb, to mod this masterpiece that I could be pp-farming in a few weeks? Ok then, I'll try to nitpick!
  1. 00:58:082 (1,2,3,4,5) - 00:59:996 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - I enjoy these star formation jumps a lot, and they fit the music perfectly.
  2. 01:10:369 (4,5,6) - feels a tiny bit repetitive, could be more fun somehow
  3. 01:33:028 (2,3,4) - also feels repetitive, and might be more fun as a triangular jump
  4. 01:51:698 (1,2,3,1) - hard to hit all 300s on first playthrough, but not a problem after a few tries
It was a real pleasure to play. I'm positive you don't have to change a single thing and this would easily be ranked, highly rated, and favorited by many.

  2. 01:10:369 (4,5,6) - feels a tiny bit repetitive, could be more fun somehow its just the nature of the song, waltz is very repetitive and there was nothing stand out here to try t be creative with
  3. 01:33:028 (2,3,4) - also feels repetitive, and might be more fun as a triangular jump same as above
  4. 01:51:698 (1,2,3,1) - hard to hit all 300s on first playthrough, but not a problem after a few tries this pattern was changed by an IRC mod

Normal and Hard :
- 01:05:741 - increase the volume around 15% or 20%? i cant even hear the finish sound ;_;

Insane :
- 00:07:337 (3) - just curious why 1/2 slider in here when in 00:11:166 (2) - you use a circle? same for 00:18:826 (4) -
- 00:23:294 - reduce the volume around 20% or 25%? i dont hear any music in here unless your queen's breathe
- 00:48:986 (2,3) - flow between them feels a bit harsh imo, try to make it a bit smoother?
- 01:05:741 - reduce the volume around 40% ? the cymbal sound isnt so strong for me
- 01:22:337 (1) - how about move around 124,228 to make smoother flow from here to next slider? i think the flow looks a bit too sharp
- 01:25:369 (2) - 336,160? the circle has drum music that i think that isnt fit for making a stack here and you didnt do that for previous part
- 01:29:198 (2) - similar with above
- 01:37:975 (2,1) - hmm somehow i feel the flow isnt comfortable but i dont have idea how to make it better. ok i just write it down maybe you have an idea or you can explain to me about this pattern
- 01:41:805 (7) - nc? you do nc for all 3/4 slider in here example 00:15:635 (1) - 00:30:954 (1) - etc. if you fix that so do for 01:49:464 (7) - too

Normal and Hard :
- 01:05:741 - increase the volume around 15% or 20%? i cant even hear the finish sound ;_;

Insane :
- 00:07:337 (3) - just curious why 1/2 slider in here when in 00:11:166 (2) - you use a circle? same for 00:18:826 (4) - the piano sound in those 2 cases extend to taht red tick, its very loud, while the spot where i used a circle its just echo
- 00:23:294 - reduce the volume around 20% or 25%? i dont hear any music in here unless your queen's breathe you can hear the distorted piano here very clearly.
- 00:48:986 (2,3) - flow between them feels a bit harsh imo, try to make it a bit smoother? ok
- 01:05:741 - reduce the volume around 40% ? the cymbal sound isnt so strong for me ok
- 01:22:337 (1) - how about move around 124,228 to make smoother flow from here to next slider? i think the flow looks a bit too sharp The flow is sharp on purpose here
- 01:25:369 (2) - 336,160? the circle has drum music that i think that isnt fit for making a stack here and you didnt do that for previous part did something similar
- 01:29:198 (2) - similar with above same
- 01:37:975 (2,1) - hmm somehow i feel the flow isnt comfortable but i dont have idea how to make it better. ok i just write it down maybe you have an idea or you can explain to me about this pattern this plays fine, i've used this pattern many times in other maps
- 01:41:805 (7) - nc? you do nc for all 3/4 slider in here example 00:15:635 (1) - 00:30:954 (1) - etc. if you fix that so do for 01:49:464 (7) - too ok
thanks for the mod nely, I went ahead and adjust the the volume on the spinner ends for mystery and lanturn by increasing to 25% so its at least audible

  1. 01:07:017 (1) - Can I ask why this is starting from there while keeping the stronger beat, or the actual start of the fade in sound appearing at 01:07:177 in the slider path? It feels really awkward personally. Starting the slider from there would've reflected the song better imo.
  2. 01:53:613 (1) - I believe like removing this object will emphasize the 1/3 rhythms you were expressing more effectively since the 1/3 piano sound ends at 01:53:507 while 01:53:613 is a start of something new. The current interval between the last note and the final spinner is 1/2, and it didn't made your note as a starting object before the spinner, but rather as an ending object after the 1/3 sliders. Removing this note and starting the spinner from here would be recommended. Or if you want to keep this note, consider using a lower volume for that. Even you may feel a beat is existing, it is super weaker than the previous beats.

Lanturn
its very minor imo and won't affect gameplay, so i'm fine with leaving it as is. thanks though. If this gets DQd for other reasons I'll do a quick fix.

When i listen to this part, the sound starts where I have the slider starting right now, it only gets louder on the red tick.

I did this just for polarity's sake, since this whole part conditions the player to click on every white tick. so I would very much like the keep the object, if the map gets DQed for any other reason, I will lower the volume a little

thanks for the mod!
