When I play any beatmap and a spinner comes along it will always mark it as an x. I've never had this sort of problem, what should I do?

Do you press a key (like you click circles and spinners) and then spin? Does it spin?
It would be nice if you could give a replay (F2 at results screen, it will export it to osu/replays, then upload it somewhere).

No. I didn't have my hands on the keys, was I supposed to?

You are supposed to hold one key in order to spin.
