So I finally figured out something that has been holding me back in a huge way in this game.
I have a bug in my motherboard's USB 3.0 drivers (I am currently on Windows 7, which requires I install Intel drivers to use my USB 3.0 ports, unlike 8/8.1/10 which use Microsoft's built in drivers) that causes enormous performance issues every single time I move my mouse. Every single poll of my mouse causes a system interrupt, which burns CPU power and causes latency for every single other application on my computer.
To give context as to how bad this problem actually is: My mouse polls at 2000Hz, and every poll creates 2ms of lag for everything else on my computer. All I have to do to burn over half of my processing power, on an i5 6500, is spin my cursor in a circle on the desktop. Every time I move my mouse in any game, my FPS drops by 75%. I have such a powerful computer that it only manifests itself seriously at random times, but it's been destroying my gaming performance for as long as I've had my new PC. I've been sitting around wondering why my mouse doesn't work right and why I suck so bad at aiming and why everything on my computer is laggy despite having some of the best parts you can buy, well, here you go!
The only way to fix it is to make a fresh install of Windows 10, which is a huge waste of time for me and in most ways a huge downgrade. Windows 10's interface is a steaming Frankenstein pile of ass and I don't like the complimentary and compulsory spying on me bythe government Microsoft . But I guess I have no choice. Fuck me, man. And while you're fucking me, fuck everything else, too. Fuck.
