The con is you need an internet connection in order to play, but that wouldn't be a problem, right?
That would actually be an incredibly big problem, believe it or not. For games like World of Warcraft who pioneered the mass-online playerbase, it wasn't a problem as it fit the general genre and core gameplay itself. Now, for this game, which is a rhythm game and has naturally no real progression and is used more as a recreational tool, you'd severely limit your playerbase right from the start if you were to publish it like that.

Why do you think Osu (as an example of a modern rhythm game, so as to not stray too far from the topic) also supports offline play? It's not because they can't be arsed to rewrite the code and disable it, but because you're essentially telling off EVERY player who doesn't have a constant internet connection, and that's more people than you might think, as more than half of Osu's current playerbase lives in countries that have an incredibly underdeveloped internet infrastructure.

We are not talking about someone's internet randomly cutting off (although that's also a real issue and is currently the hot topic of why future gaming where you need a constant net connection will suck), but also the fact that those same people who live in "internet poor" countries won't be able to play anywhere BUT on fixed locations with a constant, reliable internet connection, and if they're forced to quit the game because their net cut off when they were just about to score the perfect play, that'll not only put them off, but also make them give some seriously negative reviews about the game that might otherwise be completely fine in every other aspect.

Those would be my two cents on the matter.

Alright, calm down, sorry. But from my experience playing VOEZ (in a 384kbps connection), internet connection is used to download songs and submit scores. So, while you're playing a song in VOEZ and your internet got cut, you can still play and finish the song (and... pause and hit the retry button). If you're in an unstable internet connection, you'll need some waiting time after you hit Play and after the result screen comes up.

Anyway, let's stop talking about this. I wanna hear about the game itself. Because, I think it's a cool game format for me.

the white beads are pretty difficult to drag around
the songs are really nice though
really digging the title screen song

edit: The blue swipe ones are really hard to see which direction they're pointing too for me

Looks like Deemo on drugs. It's kinda gimmicky.

It's okay.

No, Starlight Stage only worse (forgive me for not having played Deemo, life is hard when you have 3GB only and can only play what a Snapdragon 400 handles)
How come I can relate this and Deresute

Let's see how hard this can be. And honestly, I'm hyped because it's Rayark and Cytus left a good impression despite the Sound FX being a useless trigger because Android. I'll need something super strong, though (switch to iOS okay!).

I hope it doesn't reject root (would Rayark reject rooted users? Detection okay but in my case Deresute detects root but allows me to play normally, that's what I want)

It is announced that VOEZ will be available worldwide in May!

This is my review on VOEZ, judging from the CBT I played and the official announcements.

Pros:
- New style to play osu!mania, kinda. Expect beautiful songs, minimalistic but awesome graphics and great stories.
- Game size is smaller comparing with Cytus/Deemo. (Only up to 300MB while the others take 1GB)
- Free-to-Play! With online ranking! Also, more challenging modes to be added soon. (In-app purchases available)

Cons:
- You can't just play this offline. You need some internet connection to play.
- Watch out for tricky notes! (It happenned once in a song I played, the note falls down and then right before it hits the line, it shifts away to somewhere else!)

Advice: TRY IT! OUT IN MAY

Good news is no, they don't reject roots. But please support by buying not hacking.

Why hack, lol. I actually intend to support Rayark by buying. After what I've seen in Cytus from a satisfying rhythm experience (Sound FX only missing), I can't even think of hacking IAPs.

Oh, online-only games can't be hacked, just so you know.

Please stop rejecting my debit card, you darn G

Alright, those Android users will have to wait till June 2nd, but anyway, here are more informations about the full release.

- Free songs every week! - Beside of some 'starters' songs, every week, new song(s) will be added and available for free for a limited time. Users can buy any songs and keep it forever using keys (or birds named Nan) that can be obtained from playing, unlocking stories or buying.
- Diary! Play to unlock stories, in form of diary entries, that updates EVERY DAY!
- Over 200 avatars! Some starters, and users can unlock more avatars by paying 1 key for 3 avatars. The avatars come from all Rayark games.
PatZar
im waiting this too lol

Android will wait till 2 June? Hm.

Meet me when it's 28 June. Or when I finally announce that I got a higher device with everything higher.

One doesn't simply uninstall Starlight Stage but here's hoping for a good Marshmallow system for my Grand 2 with a major bug fixed for my baseband so I can keep Deresute, Pazudora and VOEZ till the new device is bought

Tried the game. It's really fun! But I think I'd stick with Deemo. Just my preference.
Otaku One
I played Cytus and Deemo... So I gave this a try.

I really like how hard is Special mode.
LukaXGAMErs
I played this and really nice. (But the arrow is so small, =_=)
It's really like an Osu!mania but too many shifting colors and stuff. Pretty good
8.5/10

It was pretty good! Rayark did another great game :D
Good: visuals, new gameplay, story (?)
Bad: takes some time to get used to, and requires a net connection :(

Lol I'm suprised this can run on my old 4.0.4 ST21i
Seijiro
It makes me want start mapping something lol

Oh ahaha me too, I'm stuck in that too when I first open the game. I waited for so many minutes.
But worked when I skipped the opening animation.

Stuck on song loading.

Then crashes

Works fine for me, afaik the game tries to download the song's map on the fly (which explains why it requires a net connection), also it syncs rankings for those who use Google Play Games (which takes quite a chunk of data)
Mine is Android 5.1, lags happen quite often in loadscreens but it fixes itself randomly idk why (Possible fix: Make sure the net connection is stable / make sure you have enough memory space / close all apps that weren't needed in the background / ensure ample RAM) :)

Snatched Mama's Honor 5X to try this game, and finally I see how polished this is. (as in pretty polished!)
Good thing it uses an email and a password for the account (unlike almost all rhythm games in Google Play Store) so I can move my account from her 5X to my Grand 2 (or iPhone if I buy one like the 6s Plus or the 7 with the big screen) easily without a transfer code.

Well, VOEZ > Deresute indeed.
I do have space for both right now but then both grow in size so I may have to uninstall some essentials or reflash CyanogenMod to get a fresh Deresute install for VOEZ to take just the 300MB it needs, and more until I get that freaking iPhone then all out to get all I wanted

One thing is they have an unlock condition of playing 25 different songs, which really slows down the free users because they have 10 free songs and they rotate ONE song every Monday and Friday. Plus ONE free song at 8-9PM GMT+8 on weekends. I just passed that condition yesterday.

You've got your debit card around, right? At least any region can send some love to Rayark. :)

(assuming your payment method is a debit card and you're iOS)

Yeah. The birds are $.99 each and it's not expensive at all. One thing is my debit card has around $.02-$.03...

Anyway, I'll buy some keys.

It's pretty dope tbh, just started playing like last week and I'm kinda into it, just don't have really much time to play but I enjoyed the playstyle and the music.

Already played only like 5 songs but, well, I can understand why people liked it.
