So I've decided to dedicate this whole month to solely practice streams. A lot of people told me to just PLAY MORE streams and the streaming ability will naturally come, but that didn't really help me get anywhere. As a last resort, I've given myself a deadline of 1 month to improve my streaming ability (and by improve, I mean at least good enough to not get a bunch of 100's, 50's, and misses on streams). If still nothing happens, I'll concede that I just don't have the knack for streams, quit osu!, and move on. So starting today until the end of the month, I'll spend 99% of my osu! time practicing streams. I just have a few questions on how I should go about it:
1. Should I start practicing low BPM streams and gradually move up, or just play any stream maps regardless of BPM?
2. Should I focus on practicing short streams first before moving on to longer streams, or should I just mix them up?
3. I always start streams with my middle finger (my main tapping finger) unless there's a slider at the beginning of the stream, in which I use my index finger. Am I doing the right thing?
4. How do you even read streams that come very quickly right after a series of jumps? Those things ALWAYS catch me off guard and I always end up just mashing my fingers as a result. I know the main answer is just play more, but I've been playing a lot of maps with those kinds of streams but I never really got it, so maybe there's a technique or something.
5. What are the maps that helped you get better at streams? I need as much stream maps as I can get now, so I'd appreciate it if you could give me some.
So that's pretty much it. Honestly, I love osu! and I don't want to quit if possible, but it's just frustrating (and depressing, even) to spend a lot of time on something and getting nowhere with it. Hope you could give me some advice.
