Talked about this with multiple people and they said that it'd be fine if I posted this myself. Clearly they were wrong lol... why would I brag about myself in a top 10 video? I would much rather just set good plays to impress people instead of making a video about my plays, and besides, its like a minute or two of me playing anyways, and there are gonna be far more impressive people in it anyways who will get more plays and commentary etc. as the video moves up the ranks.Ritzeh wrote:

Alright, clearly I've upset you guys by posting this myself.. How about I just make it the top 20 mouse players by PP instead? That way I can 'water myself down' if you really think I'm doing this for attention and a pat on the back. I'll even give myself one really short play or no play at all if I really have to. I just want the video to be somewhat accurate and I don't wanna fuck up my reputation for this. It's really not my intention to get attention on myself out of this.. I'm genuinely learning AAE and I just wanna make a cool video that shows off a lot of mouse players and how far they've come this year.. what are your thoughts on this?

I mean, if he wanted to attention whore he could have simply made a top 10 based on pp video where he could guarantee he didn't get outvoted and post it to reddit.
Considering that he has only recently made a huge climb in the rankings there is actually a fair chance that people vote for more established less active mouse players instead (ex. BD placing mouseasy so high and momiji placing Mizuki so high).
I mean, if you really want to create a bunch of drama over this, my popcorn maker is itching for some use.

It brings popularity to a person because realistically, most people only care about/pay attention to good scores (usually scores valued high in pp) and base it as their first impression of the player.
The term I used, "drastic improvement", was directly referring to sw's rise in rank over the past few months (more specifically the past week). This is why I bothered to question the "spurious correlations".
You seem to think that I'm the type of person that relies 100% on pp to calculate the absolute skill level of a person. Well that's not true lol.
