From my super duper long experience of using three main different mice I have realized that all of them have annoying design issues that affect my full potential. The three mice I have used are the g400s (used g400 before but not worth talking about), IE3.0, and the steelseries rival. Even if you have not got a lot of experience my playstyle maybe I can enlighten you on the drawbacks each of these mice have and had affected me for so long.
G400s: This was my first main mouse after the short use of the g400. Although it had some nice mouse feet and due to its small-ish size it was really easy to do jumps. It had terrible button shape and switches. It was a bitch to try and stream on that mouse because you had to use the force of a sledgehammer to press each button. This ended up making me move my hand further up the mouse and pressing the tips of the buttons which was easier to press by far. This messed up my grip for my next mouse for a long time, creating horrible habits...
IE3.0: By far the most popular mouse for older mouse only players. Probably my favorite mouse even though I do not use it anymore. Has amazing deathstreaming capabilities, mainly for lower bpms and it was so easy to acc stuff with this mouse. My main problem with this mouse isnt the design itself but the fact that its very difficult to find a decent chinese fake of this mouse. Since microsoft stopped producing these ages ago the authentic ones are around £80 on amazon and I'd prefer to keep my budget at £45 or so. I have purchased 5 of these fake mice and two of the 3 have had perfect builds where almost nothing affected my skill. Those however have broken due to crappy reasons. It has one main design flaw that I really dislike and that is that the wire is way too thick and stiff, making it affect my mouse movement and aim quite a lot. For some reason it also makes my cursor drift way more when the mouse wire affects my aim which is a pain in the buttocks. This mouse by far has the best control making it easy to aim streams such as the streams in shuffle heaven extra diff or classical insanity (forgot the diff name but its the hardest).
Steelseries Rival: This is the current mouse that I am using and it is the most popular for current mouse only players. Pyonta switched from ie3.0 to rival, so did change before his finger died and he had to switch to keyboard, sawagani used ie3 and switched to rival rival, and breiz recently went from ie3.0 to rival and he also is having problems with its design flaws. Breiz's main complaints were that the ie3 had a thick wire too. The main perks of the rival is that the wire is thin and its shape and mouse feet are really nice for jumps/aiming. I have phenomenal aiming compared to most other people I know at my rank because of how little the wire affects the mouse's aim allowing for me to not hold back on my jumps. The main problem for this mouse that I have encountered recently is the shape of the buttons, and its switches. The rival is terrible to grip compared to the ie3.0, making my ringed finger numb a lot of the times and mainly just affecting how easy it is for me to get fingerlock whilst streaming. The fact that you can actually click the buttons from the back of the mouse is retarded too as parts of my palm sometimes accidentally right click and completely break my combos although i have learned to grip it in a way that that rarely happens anymore. The switches are way too quiet and weird, the mouse is nice for doing short bursts but the space between the button and the bottom of the mouse is tiny making it feel like you arent even clicking the mouse sometimes.
To summarize the perfect mouse features:
Shape most closely resembling the IE3.0
At least 800dpi
Thin and flexible wire (rival's wire is a perfect example)
Buttons must have nice switches. No clicking back of mouse bullshit. Id prefer switches on the more clicky side like the ie3.0
Should by default come with smooth mouse feet as going to takasta to change it is time and effort although this isn't that crucial.
Must allow for a nice palm grip.
£45 max
Thanks for anyone who bothers to read at least the summary and gives some insight into any mice they know.
