I'll get to it sometime later, but I can't stress that you should message me or send a mail when you're asking for a m4m. I don't like feeling pressured or indebted to giving a mod without prior knowledge. That being said thanks a lot for your mod ^^

All diffs: I think there's something really weird going on at 2:13:207 with the timing points. There's no tempo change or anything there, so you should probably redo the timing. The sliders can and will get wonky when you do fix the timing, but that is necessary.

Overall - Too many sliders, especially for an Easy diff. Consider mapping some rhythms (like ) in hit circles. As the Guidelines say, “Avoid slider-only sections. Aiming and following a lot of sliders in a row can be tiring for new players. In such cases, circles and rest moments without hitobjects to click or follow should be used.”

00:26:186 (1) - Why would you make this 3 beats long, when you could make this 2 beats long and map that nice crispy snare at 27:109? Alright, I copy+pasted the slider from before and put a 2 beat it works better.

You can differ on the point that the second slider is ugly (The better word would be "out of place), but the first slider does not correspond to sounds in the song, i.e. there is no sound that should be emphasized on the 2nd beat of the measure where the reverse arrow is on, compared to the 1st and 3rd beats of the measure.

you're aiming for. If anything, this breaks the consistency of your mapping up until this part.

Compare your Easy map to this, then the Hard map. Even if it were, the multiple reverses right at the start is not acceptable in a Normal map.

The music isn't putting emphasis on the other beats in the measure compared to the first. The arpeggio in the background seems to be consistently strong throughout the measure, further supporting my point that the slider shouldn't cross the first beat in the measure, which is the strongest in the measure by default if no other beats are accentuated.
00:51:570 (6,7) - No Reason Jumps™ It's buildup? There's no strong sound that should be emphasized on the 7, and in addition, the section is not intense at all. The buildup doesn't start until the spinner following it.

They're guidelines, I am not forced to follow them. Plus I don't want to change much because the map isn't originally mine and the map style is mildly different. I would ask you to talk to the original mapper but he's banned, so-

The reply to the mod is the reasons why. I advise you and the "original mapper" to read them.

You do not understand what "the first beat in a measure" means, and I advise you to learn that much basic music theory if you are to try to get your map ranked, for your own sake. As a clue, your tiny doubly-reversed slider at the start is on the fourth beat in that measure. As another clue, if you enable the countdown and it sounds off, you haven't put the first object on the first beat of a measure.

I know how to rank maps, I have two maps current ranked as it stands. I gave you reasons why twice, I am not obliged to agree nor am I required to change something because of another persons opinion or input. I also don't need to know music terms in order to rank a map, this is a rhythm game and thus I do not need to know specifics on understanding music terminology. I know how to map on this game and as it stands my map is not unrankable until someone states otherwise with valid proof. The countdown is off because it of the way I put the offset, I can always just put it 4 beats before and it would work fine because it goes in conjunction with the offset to where the first beat is.

So in conclusion I don't need to know what "basic music theory" is in order to rank a map on a rhythm game. I am not here to learn about music theory, I am here to map a song.

EDIT: On a side note, maps are also an interpretation of how someone else perceives the beats and all maps are done through heavily opinionated views. Evidently your opinions on how this song should be mapped are much different. You're always welcome to map your own version of this song if my map style isn't up to your standards.

What makes a map well-mapped? rhythm. Emphasis. Intensity. Design. While music theory can't help you with design, it wis indispensable in thinking about the other elements, syncing up with, representing, and embellishing the soundtrack. You keep saying it's your "mapping style"; if your mapping style is to ignore the basic tenets of what makes music the way it is, that's not a very rankable, or appreciable, way of mapping.

I started with basically no knowledge of music theory, see where it got me lol.

Really all it takes is common sense, lots of practise and some skill in playing the game itself to get knowledge of how it works.

I have no basic music theory. I map from heart and have my own mapping style, but yeah. Soon we should have rules on how our mapping style is. And soon might as well have maps that are all exactly the same. Because we all need to follow what exactly is the "rythm", the "empahisis", the "intensity" and "design". Might as well say these objectives things.

The rank criteria doesnt state that you need to follow "basic music theory" or whatever that means. As Winek said I map based on how I feel about the map. The more you play the game the more you come to realise not everything as as black and white as you make it, thats what makes the game creative and gives mappers inspiration.
