i have still that error with tahoma. i downloaded it and its still the same thing
Kanesuge
I had the same problem with many guys here. When I started osu, an error came out with error code CLR20r3.

Today I just found a very easy way to solve this problem.

DELETE the "zh" folder in your installed files, and your osu will work properly!

Hope it helps to guys with the same problem. And I wish the administer could make this sticky.
peppy
Where is "installed files"? The zh folder inside osu! will not make a difference. I have already specified a solution. There is no need for a sticky because it affects about 2 people.

Both of you are missing the Segoe UI font for some reason.

http://www.mediafire.com/?0yomgnxtk0i

Download that and extract its contents. Drag those files into your C:\Windows\Fonts folder or whatever your drive letter is.

Thanks! This works! I don't know what makes the difference (there is a .dll file inside), but anyway I can play it again now

I have also had a similar since forever. I have never been able to play osu! on this computer because of this.
Thats why iw as checking around this forum now. Anyone know what could be the cause of these things?
Mine looks like the one above except it says:
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process ID=0x384 (900) Thread ID=0x13f8 (5112)

Click OK to terminate..
Click CANCEL to debug.

To obtain Segoe UI completely legally, install Windows Live Messenger.
(Likewise, install the Powerpoint 2007 viewer to obtain the C- fonts (Calibri, ...). This won't help anything, but the fonts rock!)

But this shouldn't even be a problem since osu! doesn't use the font on an operating system which doesn't include it.

WHEN I CLICK IN TO "osu!setup installer"
IT says nothing to see here... ??

Either reinstall Windows or install Messenger to get Segoe UI back. Why did you delete it in the first place?

OKay thx, after reinstalling the live messenger it worked

Hey guys, I downloaded osu! yesterday.
I installed it, started it and drag&dropped some beatmaps.
Everything worked great.
Today I tried to start osu! but this error message came:

bei #pg.#og.#aN()

I also repaired and reinstalled osu! with the installer, but that didn't work.
What can I do?

EDIT:: I can start the game with compatibility mode (difficult word ^^) -> Windows 2000
But then the game cannot connect to the internet, means cannot upload highscores etc.
No, this has nothing to do with my firewall ;)

Yesterday, I downloaded Osu! and I went to open the program and it made my computer work really hard, set my monitor to standby (The light went orange instead of green, and the screen was black/blank) and would not let me do anything at all. I do know that i do not have a Virus because i have run my antivirus programs, and others that i was able to get a hold of with out having to pay for anything( free trials for McAfee/ Norton/ StopZilla). Should I uninstall the program and try again?

I'm on windows XP, if that helps any.

I have the same problem. Playing offline works but if I connect to internet osu! crashes.

Also re-installing isn't helping.

I helped Mashley fix a nullref crash by deleting osu.db. Please try this and see if it has any effect.

This isn't working either.

By the way, the game worked fine earlier on this computer and the problem didn't occur right after any update.
mm201
It sounds like a problem map. Try moving out all your beatmaps, then copying them back a few at a time.

I think this might have been the problem since I put new maps into osu! before the problem occured. Anyway, I did what I should have done in the first place: uninstalled whole osu! (excluding beatmaps of course), reinstalled it and put some maps back. And now it works. Thanks anyway.

Sometimes, osu!'s local database can become corrupt. This is especially common when release schedules are as tight as they are.

When this happens, you can usually fix it by deleting osu!.db, forcing a complete rescan of your beatmaps. Also occasionally, a setting got set to something it wasn't supposed to--likely as a result of fidgeting around in your osu!.username.cfg. You should try deleting this file too if you get this error and the above doesn't help.

The main side-effect of deleting osu!.db is that all your local offsets will be reset. I'd suggest posting your offset changes in the map threads if they're far off enough to merit a local offset.
osu!.username.cfg contains all your settings and your login information, so you'll need to re-enter your password and pick your resolutions, skins, etc. again after deleting it.

If neither of these help, you could try deleting individual beatmaps you may have installed recently, in case one of them is causing issues. If you're able to find a single culprit beatmap, feel free to post about it in this sticky.
