if they're right, it would mean that like around 2 million people are playing osu, while the average online is only 10 to 15k. 2 million against 10k? Doesnt that sound wrong?

That's the people playing now. As in, at this very moment. Not every one will be online at the exact same time. >_>

yes i know that but still its 2 million against 10k. hmm sounds weird.

That 10k is who is currently online in-game.
Basically so know that there are waay more people active on osu! than just that 10k.
I've ran out of things to say and probably haven't even made any sense since the beginning, but oh well
A lot of players play occasionally, like once a week or so, so it's not weird having like 10k people online at the time being.
