I'm recently getting parts in to build a new PC today and currently working on archiving game saves/etc. and wondering if I transfered my song/skin folder files from this PC to the new one would cause any problems.

There should not be any problems.

Since osu can even run fine from an external drive with a simple drag-and-drop and you can import both songs and skins manually, you shouldn't get any problems with doing that.

At this point, just copy osu! completely if you want to be sure :P

Thanks a lot. I did backup the entire osu folder in my programs file folder just to be safe.

Now if those parts would only get here....

Make sure you also take the ous!!(windows user name).cfg file too. That contains all your osu settings and all of your favorite songs.

on my comp it's named:
osu!.Administrator.cfg

so it's

osu!.(your_windows_nick).cfg

The osu .cfg file won't be recognised when you change your computer and another one will be made with the username you're using in the other PC (at least that's what happened to me).

Unless you use the same account name on both PCs.

you can just rename the .cfg file and it will work.
