Rather bad habits...

Since I am still new to osu! I have found a few bad habits that I have gotten. I need some advise to rework them.

1. Trying to go to notes to fast because of panicking. (Instead of snapping to notes. This also makes it really hard to jump accurately.) :?

2. Terrible on streaming due to me being a single-tapper. (I realize that I am a scrublord) I can only single tap accuracy I have tried alternating but it doesn't feel the same.

3. Capped at 7 AR. I can't play an 8 ar map to save my life. It seems overly fast. (Maybe due to slow reaction times. I am not quite sure what causes this.)

I really would like some advise along with some maps if you can provide them. Thank you~

first of all, play more

1. play lower ar
2. learn to alternate or singletap/start streams with other finger in easier/slower maps than you can do the way you are good at
3. try a cleaner skin, try setting screen brightness higher (also adjust room lighting if necessary, do not use screen settings that strain eyes). just give it some time, try playing <ar hiigher than what you can play> with relax while tapping, try to understand what appears on screen and aim/tap it on time

some fun maps for finger control:

Firstly thanks for all the maps. I mean maybe I should play on lower AR but it just feels too slow.

I thought alternating was easier for streams but it seems more of an accuracy problem on my side. I just need to play more.
Well I am already ahead of the game. I use a pretty basic skin and turn off all the videos, and all the extra stuff such as backgrounds and etc.

1. That's the problem I don't really know where I am map wise. I only know where I am AR wise.
2. Yeah this is true enough it just has to do with my accuracy.
3. Working on it~ xD

Just play maps you can read properly, I would suggest to only play nomod(play harder nomod maps instead of using hr or DT).
What I normally do is sort my maps on star rating and I start playing at the diff I mostly get 97+ acc scores on and work my way up till I start getting B scores. I would also recommend to play as many different maps as possible instead of replaying maps alot.

I don't think you should bother with learning how to stream untill you play 4 star maps, it's something that will come over time.
And don't worry about higher ar it will come naturally.

when practicing finger control, i think it's acceptable to get any acc, just play something you know how you should tap and know it is well within your ability (not around you max speed) but it's hard because fingers are retarded (they will get better if you keep at it, progress comes slowly)

just try to get those fingers to tap on the right time/order

Wow. I feel inferior now.
Haha I have a tablet cause I do graphic design as a hobby. Don't feel inferior I just try too hard lol!~

I watched a lot of youtube videos, They always tell you to focus on the beat and just do your best. Meanwhile I am focused on getting an S which is a major problem cause look at my replays at maps. Although I think it helps with my map-reading. I think I am spending too much time on maps rather then adding variety. And thanks you been a big help!

Shiori made my page thing. I made my profile picture. Possibly in the future as I am quite busy right now!

Yup but the problem is that I am on borderline 4 star maps. And thanks for the tips! I plan on playing a lot of different maps now. I was just so bent on getting S but I guess that's my own problem haha.

All of these are normal, you've barely even started playing. Start worrying about bad habits once you can FC nomod 4 stars.

That's because you're not supposed to be able to read AR 10 before you can read AR 9 properly. HR is for like rank 10k.

as long as u consciously recognise ur bad habits the only step remaining is to play more :^)

Are you replying to the OP lmao
No, I'm talking to you. I'm saying you shouldn't be worried for not being able to play AR 10 as it's a non-factor around your rank and forcing yourself to get that ability would probably hurt your progression more than it helped.
In case you're interested, I cap out at AR 9.6. If I edit any map within my FC range to AR 9.6 they get uncomfortable to play, that is, I get worse results because I can't read the AR yet. 9.6 is a long way to 10. If I DT a map so that it is in my FC range not that I play DT more than once a year I can easily "read" AR 9.8 because patterns are a lot easier. However, 9.8 is still a long way to 10.

1) You're panicking, you said it yourself. Watch as the circle falls, then hit as it approaches. Just calm and focus on one note at a time, which will help you powerlevel reading alot as well.

2) I've alternated from the beginning so I can't exactly give advice transitioning other than practice and just play. Play at a speed that's comfortable at first then push it. If you learn by throwing yourself under the fire, get some easy maps with triplets (I can't link some, I'm at college right now) and play them.

3) Learning a higher AR is one of those things that one day you'll wake up and know how to read it if you play it every now and then. Either use the editor to change the AR or get some nomod AR 8 maps and play. I highly prefer getting some nomod AR 8 maps out there (there's countless amounts of them, just search around for music you like which has an AR 8 diff you can play) and learning off of that since it'll expose you to different maps and build your reading.

I'll find some maps for you if you're around later on since I'm not home if you'd like.

Stop playing Hard Rock to solve your first problem. Hard Rock increases the approach rate(the speed at which the approach circles close in on the circle).
Most mappers choose their approach rate for a map so the player can comfortably look ahead what is going to happen while keeping the map relatively clean. If the approach rate is higher, you see a lot less objects on-screen which makes it easier for you to identify which object you have to hit.
The problem here is that you are playing the game by looking at singular circles that are on-screen for a short time. Being able to deal with many circles on screen and knowing when you have to hit which circle is a very important ability to play osu! at a higher level.
Watch this for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iJROFuVE_U
No need to ever get that good at this but the point is that you will rather use the music as an orientation as for when to hit a circle instead of the approachcircle or the moment when the circle appears. And colors and numbers to determine the order.

2. No need to get good at streaming for you right now. Play for a month before you think about that again. There are no real streams on maps below 3* therefore this is an unnecessary skill for you at the moment.

3. Play more. While playing more, your perception slowly changes so that you will be able to read AR8 and AR9 at some point without ever playing AR8 or AR9 maps. It's different for AR10 but who needs that anyway?

I'm so excited whenever jaaakb suggests practice maps for someone. There is always some gem I didn't know yet xd
