This is my first beatmap I've ever submitted. I am very open to suggestions and am fine with changing my maps a bit if need be. Since the song is relatively slow (120-160 BPM), I chose a more jumpy style for my harder difficulties.

Since it seems like this is your first beatmap I'll point out a few things in Insane diff that may also apply to other diffs

[General]

  1. Use hitsounds!
    You can put claps every non-strong white tick, f.e: 01:27:895 - 01:28:645 - 01:29:395 - 01:30:145 - 01:30:895 - and so on...
  2. You missed some tags on Easy diff
  3. You can increase volume on Kiai part
[Insane]

  1. 00:01:572 (6,1) - this overlap doesnt look nice
  2. 00:03:072 (5) - would look better as a blanket
  3. 00:10:072 (1,2,3,4) - Make this more symmetrical, also this should go counter-clockwise
  4. 00:37:697 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) - Constant DS here! Also this stream should end 00:39:520 - here
  5. 00:39:988 (1,2,3) - Spacing
  6. 00:40:176 (3,2,2) - These sliders seem a bit too fast for me
  7. 01:14:582 - missing note
  8. 01:14:770 (1,3) - you can turn circles like these into sliders even if there's no real sound at the end just to avoid awkward breaks
  9. 01:20:395 (4,5,6) - I feel like that pattern doesnt really fit here
  10. 01:25:645 (7) - If you hear the sounds like these which are suddently changed to another sound, you can make 1/4 distance between them, for example:
  11. 01:35:020 (5) - NC
  12. 01:51:520 (1,2,3,4) - You always have to use Distance Snap when you want to make a stream (I would prefer 0.4 - 0.6 DS) unless you're experienced mapper. This would help you to make your map clearer and more readable
  13. 02:01:645 (5,7) - Avoid overlaps like these where circle is touching the end of a long slider
  14. 02:05:020 (10) - NC here, also apply to the next patterns like this one. When you're placing New Combos you have to follow the song, not patterns

Hey There! It's Me from the queue. I'll only mod 1 Diff because sorry but the map is really unpleasant


First Off Press shift ctrl a to open aimod. then click the box up top called distance snap. Yeah.


Secondly Use distance snap throughout the whole song. seriously.


00:06:072 (4,5) - Copy 4 With ctrl c and delete 5. then replace 5 with the copied 4 with ctrl v and then rotate and spin the copied 4 with ctrl h and ctrl comma (,) to make 4 parallel with 5


00:08:072 (1,2) - Don't stack it's unrankable in easy and normal difficulties

00:12:072 (1,2) - There too


00:39:988 (1,2) - Would be better to delete his. Make it a spinner or something


00:45:520 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - Distance snap and uneven shapes


00:57:520 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - SO MUCH OVERLAP UGH. Please fix and please use overlap >.<

Ok, I will.
By the way, keep in mind that I am new to beatmapping, so it's not surprising that those who have reviewed and improved huge amounts of beatmaps and who know all the qualities of a great map might find the appearance of my "let's make a beatmap for the first time and try to learn how to do it properly" map "unpleasant." :( Sorry, just wanted to put that out there, I'm not really trying to be rude or anything, I just want everyone to keep in mind that I am very new to this whole side of osu!.

I have updated the easy and insane beatmaps based off your recommendations, hopefully this is better. I have not done anything to normal or hard yet, I'll try to use the suggestions for the other difficulties on them later.

By the way, I can't figure out how to add/change hitsounds for the ends of sliders. Is there any easy way to do this?

the timing offset is slightly incorrect.
after my test, the timing of 1st part (slow part) begin at 0:00:000 (bpm:120 ; offset:134), the 2nd part (fast part) song is 0:39:510 (bpm:160 ; offset:39510).

i've played all diffs but there're still lots of problems. if you really want to be rank i suggest you to re-mapping entire beatmaps

my friend just request me that make an insane diff for this song, i found your beatmaps when i search for references.

While I know there are lots of problems with my maps, I've already had people help me improve the maps I currently have. If I redid everything, I feel like that would negate some of the work they put into helping me. Plus, I feel like, even if I redid it, not much would change/improve, since I don't know a lot of things for how to make a good beatmap. Also, I would've tried to incorporate some themes from your map into mine, but there is a problem with copying the osu file into the folder, so I can't actually see your map.

Update Notes:
I updated the offset by Dragon's suggestion, and applied distance snap to the Normal Difficulty.

After you fixed all these things then try asking other queues to see how they think about your map. Read this first before going any further.
[Easy & Normal]

  1. I guess I'll give some general comments instead. If there's any technical words that you don't understand then you can use this for reference.
  2. Basically SV is way too fast, I would recommend you 0.8-0.9 for Easy and 1.0-1.1 for Normal.
  3. When you're mapping Easy and Normal, basically you want to emphasize on flows, not pattern.(Well, you can do some patterns but flows are the higher priority here) . Sometimes when you think of a pattern, you break the flow. Like, 00:51:510 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2) in Easy for example. It might be playable for beginners but it won't be enjoyable as it should be.
  4. Some circles could have been turned into a slider to avoid some empty spaces like 00:41:760 (1) - 00:44:010 (2) - for example, leaving too much empty spaces will make players feel awkward and bored while playing.
  5. There are some restrictions in Easy that I will be pointing out here(Some restrictions were made so beginners can play comfortably)
    1. 00:39:978 (1,1) - You need to leave at least 4 white ticks(2 in Normal) after the spinner because you have to give some recovery time to players. My suggestion here would to remove the second spinner.
    2. 02:08:010 (3) - Kicksliders with 2 or more kicks aren't recommended in Easy & Normal.
Well, to be honest I think those 2 diffs will have to be changed again due to SV's change, Also resnap the second timing point in Normal please.

Overall I didn't see any DS problems and weird overlaps so far, you can ask me in game if you have any questions. Good luck~

Well, it's nice to know my beatmaps are improving, if DS and overlap are no longer major issues. :)

01:37:635 (1) - I personally think this is too hard for Easy. Put this stuff in Normal, not Easy.

[Normal]
Most of the stuff in here is too hard for Normal. Use less 1/2 sliders.

Updated the Hard difficulty for what I think might be the first time since I submitted it, other than slight alterations. There were so many overlap problems in the map, they were everywhere! :P I focused mostly on fixing the overlap , and didn't really about distance snapping, because harder difficulties often have jumps and areas that don't follow a distance-snapped pattern, though in a later update, I may partially distance snap it if I think it looks weird. I feel like Hard still isn't great, but at least it's better than before.

Just updated the normal and easy difficulties, mostly just lowering the slider velocity, because it was a little fast for the difficulties. Also changed the CS for normal to be a bit bigger (CS 3.5).

General
  1. Don't try to make an Insane with crazy jumps and SV if it doesn't fit the music and the bpm is too slow
  2. The SV is probably too high, try 2SV
  3. On the source say from what game it is
  4. Don't use grid snap, it prevents your creativity
  5. Since you're new to mapping, I'll tell you something helpful that a guy told me when I was starting too:

You should try to find a consistent distance snap to use throughout the whole diff. You don't even need to use distance snap, just use it as a guideline for what to do. check the upper right corner when you have a note selected to see the spacing between the note ahead of it and the note behind it.
Insane
  1. 00:00:123 (1,2,3,4,5) - Doesn't look like a perfect star to me, fix it without grid snap enabled
  2. 00:02:123 (1,2,3,4) - Try to fix that star shape too (I'm ignoring the slider since it's a jump)
  3. 00:03:123 (5) - Fix blanket, http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/4683437 middle dot: x:352 y:256 sliderend dot: x:306 y:258 (if you don't know what are those x and y things, look in the top right corner, it shows the exact position of your cursor on the playfield)
  4. 00:04:123 (1,2,3,4) - Try to make a perfect square
  5. 00:05:123 (5,6,7,8) - ^
  6. 00:06:123 (1,2) - Don't go too crazy with the slider shapes https://osu.ppy.sh/wiki/Making_Good_Sliders for some ideas
  7. 00:11:123 (5) - ^ (for long sliders like that it's better to reduce the SV with a timing point if you don't know how to make nice shapes)
  8. 00:12:123 (1,2,3,4) - More symmetrical
  9. 00:14:123 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4) - Way too much straight/linear
  10. 00:24:623 (1) - You can do a better shape with only 3 dots a bit like I did on the screenshot of my blanket
  11. 00:28:623 (1,1) - O R I? Does it have something to do with the song or source? If not, don't make shapes of letters
  12. 00:40:166 (3) - Maybe a less crazy shape, up to you because this one looks correct tbh
  13. 00:41:760 (2) - Reduce the SV or make a slider art
  14. 00:44:010 (2) - ^
  15. 01:03:135 (6,7) - Weird flow
