Big thanks. I'll change these soon.Endaris wrote:
General
Your Easy- and your Normal-Diff are almost the same in terms of gameplay-elements, especially in the first part of the loop. I would make the Easy-Diff a bit easier by including more 2/1 sliders and removing some odd 1/2 to get a nice difficulty spread.
Shortening your Kiai is an option but not mandatory.Easy
First thing I would do here is increasing the distance snap from 0,5 to 0,75(you can get decimal values by holding shift+alt at the same time and using your scrollwheel) and lower the slidervelocity from 1,4 to 1,2(you can find that one in the Timing Tab).
The reason for this is that right now the circles that are 1 white tick apart are overlapping and it is generally more pleasant to look at the map when there's a bit of space between circles. Additionally the movement required for sliders is very fast right now compared with how fast you have to move for circles. Lowering the SV in favor of DS evens this out a bit while keeping the sliders noticeably faster which is a good choice imo.
Next thing up is structure. As this is the Easy-Difficulty you don't want to make this very complicated and keep things simple and intuitive.
The theme is looped, you got basically 5 different parts based on the instrumentalisation of the song:
bass: 00:00:547 - till 00:08:546 - and 01:20:540 - 01:28:539 -
bass+synthesizer: 00:08:546 - till 00:24:545 - and 01:28:539 - till 01:44:538 -
bass+guitar: 00:24:545 - till 00:40:543 - and 01:44:538 - till 02:00:537 -
bass+guitar+strings : 00:40:543 - till 00:56:542 - and 02:00:537 - till 02:16:536 -
bass+guitar+strings+synthesizer: 00:56:542 - till 01:12:541 - and 02:16:536 - till 02:32:534 -
Additionally drums and that highpitched sound pattern are playing throughout the whole song, including the unmapped parts.
The only thing that really changes between the two loops is the bassline but as the bassline gets rather funky in the second part it can't be used for the easy-difficulty.
The reason why I gave you that instrumentalisation-structure is that right now your variations in rhythm are rather random, they don't follow any coherent concept which is desirable for easy-difficulties.
What you basically want to do is finding a pattern that fits one section and possibly make small variations where it fits but only based on the already known pattern.
The pattern you made here is relatively good I think: 00:08:546 (1,2,3,4) - one could consider replacing 00:09:546 (2,3) - with another slider but generally speaking this fits this parts nicely and you could use this pattern for this entire part(until 00:24:545 -) with minor variations and it would play out well.
To give an example:
What all of the combos have in common is that they have a note to click on the downbeat(=big white tick). The first three patterns also all have a note to click on the third beat. The fourth one is different because there is a quite audible pitch-change for the synthesizer on the red tick. Due to that reason all of the patterns are still very intuitive to play despite having variations.
Once you decided on a rhythmic pattern for a certain part it is time to give it some looks. I'm actually pretty bad at making such stuff but this is just an example for the first pattern 00:08:546 (1,2,3,4) - (I used the DS/SV mentioned at the beginning):
You generally want to arrange your circles and sliders in a way that you get symmetry, aligning borders(also referred to as blanketing), individually shaped sliders that flow perfectly into each other, equal distances between hitcircles, equal steps of rotations for sliders(ctrl+shift+r to rotate your selection) and so on. Any kind of matching structure.
Another thing I'd advise for this difficulty is to not use 1/2 repeatsliders unless the music really calls for it:
00:18:545 (4,5) -
00:57:542 (2) -
02:10:036 (3) -
These all don't sound bad but they're unnecessary and make this difficulty more similar to your Normal-Difficulty.
Summary:
Plan/map each part for itself. Choose some elements of the music you want to focus on. Make some varying pattern as fit while keeping the chosen elements dominant in all of them. Arrange each single pattern in a nice-looking way. Rinse and repeat. This is basically the same for the normal, just that you have bigger freedom regarding the used pattern and the arrangement.
Good luck with your map and don't hesitate to message me if you're having trouble understanding something!

Your mod have arrivedNormal
- First off, I think you should just use 1.0x DS in this map as the current DS causes some bad overlaps. Example: 00:14:545 (4,5) - 00:22:045 (3,4) - 00:28:544 (1,2) -
- 00:16:545 (1) - Two things here. First, you should try to avoid overlaps as much as you can in easier diffs such as this 00:15:545 (6,1) - Second, it flows badly. Generally, you want smooth movement most of the time in the map in easier difficulties. Like in your pattern here, the flow is bad. A better one would be something like this Same thing goes with 00:18:545 (4,5) - and 00:50:543 (4,5) -
- 00:35:544 (6,7) - Do not overlap
- 00:47:043 (5,2) - ^
- 00:57:542 (2,3) - You can make them parallel for better looks
- 00:59:042 (4,5) - Allign the borders here (called blanketing) Here's an example of one. See how it looks neater with the borders of the circle and the slider perfectly alligned? You could try to use more of that in your maps for a better overall shape and look
- 01:11:541 (6,7) - Blanket this too
- 01:24:540 (1) - More than 1 repeat in a Normal diff is not recommended and can be somewhat awkward and repetitive to play
- 01:31:289 (4) - Delete this circle
- 01:50:038 (4,5,6) - This pattern is just bad. The flow is bad, it overlaps and is confusing for newer players to play. Place (6) somewhere else where it doesn't overlap and doesn't disrupt the flow
- 01:55:037 (6) - No more than 1 repeat
- 01:57:037 (7) - Just a straight long slider can get boring and doesn't look very good. Whenever you have a long slider you should try to mix up curves and corners to create a more varied shape such as this. Note that it's just an example. You can also do varied shapes on other sliders instead of just curves and straights to freshen things up and to make the map look better
- 02:02:537 (5,6) - Don't overlap
- 02:08:536 (1,2,3) - Pattern is quite flawed here and it doesn't flow well. Try this or something else that looks better
- 02:13:536 (3,5) - Don't overlap and 02:14:536 (5) - should be placed somewhere else on the right
- 02:25:035 (2) - End this slider at 02:25:535 -
Try to map with more patterns and different sliders as it makes a map looks better overall. Don't forget to blanket where possible and maintain the flow in your map. That's all from me. Anyways good luck with your map

[Easy]
00:09:546 (2) - Make the circle in front of the slider for make a linear flow.
+ make a triangle with 3.
00:13:545 (2,3) - Bad overlap. Change this.
00:20:545 (1,2) - Same
00:36:544 (1,2) - Make a blanket
00:37:544 (2,3) - Overlap
00:40:543 (1,2,3) - Make blankets
00:44:543 (1,2,3) - Make the circle in front of the slider for make a linear flow.
+ make a triangle with 3.
00:46:543 (4,5) - Bad overlap
00:49:543 (2,4) - ^
01:02:542 (4,5) - ^
01:10:541 (4) - Linear flow
02:02:537 (3,1) - Overlap
02:04:537 (1,2) - Make symmetry

02:18:536 (3,1) - ^
02:20:536 (1,2) - Make symmetry
02:28:535 (1,2) - Overlap
Don't make the same patterns, that's repetitive & very boring for the player.
[Normal]
00:15:545 (6,1) - Overlap
00:35:544 (6,7) - ^
01:11:541 (6,7) - Blanket
01:23:040 (6) - Add reverse
02:02:537 (5,6) - Overlap
That's all for my mod !
Good luck for your map !
