Hi
based on this post I got the idea to start my mapping guide video series by clarifying some vocabulary that is commonly used within the mapping community to make further explanations more effective by using the defined musical terms...
The terms I want to explain so far:
beat, measure, offbeat, downbeat, upbeat, bpm, offset, 1/2, 1/4, 1/3, 1/6, triol
If any other terms crossed your way during the mapping process I'd appreciate it if you added it into your post optimally along with a link to a post that includes it.
And another question: Did you vote "Yes" or "No" in the poll? If yes you can optionally tell us what you learned and in which context.
Personally I learned the term "downbeat" by reading through some mapping guides and I found out that wikipedia says quite different things for the same word(offbeat) in different languages or at least between german and english. So lame.
Thank you for your assistance.
