It would be lovely if there could be a timer ticking down to when a map moves from Qualified to Ranked.

Would be nice but then QATs would just snipe and disqualify it on the last few minutes. :^)

Either way, I've spent dozens of hours just waiting for a map to get ranked, and I'd rather spend my time doing other things instead of just unknowingly waiting since I have no clue when a song gets ranked.

You cannot calculate the time because the system is dynamic. The time would change every time an older qualified map gets disqualified. Play other maps while waiting for a map to get ranked, it takes some time.
