hi~! from my modding queue

a pretty short mod, sorry if it's not good enough, i'm not that good at modding (´・ω・`)

legend: blue - my own preference, not a "must" change. red - large mistake, or something that i don't understand

general
1. decrease the offset slightly? some notes feel like they are too late. something like -~5 should be good
also if you'll decrease the offset you also have to decrease the time of every single timing point

Easy
1. 00:12:492 (3) - that slider starts too late to sync with neither drums nor guitar.
2. 00:13:527 - this empty section could use a spinner or a break. if you will add a spinner then remove the circle at 00:14:906 (1) and make the spinner end at this moment (just like in Hard diff).
3. the kiai section is incosistently timed, sometimes it's synced with lyrics, sometimes it's synced with drums or guitar, but it's still playable. just pointing that one out to you.

Normal
1. 00:06:113 (2,3) - the slider is too long to sync with the guitar, and the circle is random if that segment is supposed to sync with drums. if it's supposed to sync with both it just feels clunky.
2. 00:13:527 - same as Easy, could use a spinner or a break.
3. 01:01:458 (5,6) - if that fragment is supposed to sync with lyrics then you should remove the circle. if it's supposed to sync with drums, then change the repeating slider to a regular slider or remove the circle and move the slider beginning to the spot where the circle was.

Hard

  1. this feels pretty hard for any easy with all the consecutive 1/1 clickable objects and notes on red ticks, but I guess it doesn't break any rules
  2. 00:08:695 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3) - I would move this entire segment up to [271, 205] so that 00:07:661 (4,1) - flows better
  3. 00:15:247 (1,2) - in general, 3/2 gaps are weird to play, especially during a vocal phrase. I recommend something like this instead: http://puu.sh/n3M0p/ce110a2927.jpg there's a few places places that this happens, so if you change it, be sure to change all of them
  4. 00:47:316 (4) - a little risky since these overlaps are hard to read for new players. also, minor thing but try to keep your DS more consistent (1.15x vs 1.2x)

  1. 00:07:316 (2,3) - eh rhythm doesn't really match guitar. there's two identical notes at 00:07:661 - and 00:07:833 - and another set of identical notes at 00:08:006 - and 00:08:178 - which should be reflected in your mapping.   2. 00:09:385 (5) - replace this with a note at 00:09:557 -
  3. 00:51:971 (4) - maybe use 1/2 slider instead or add note to 00:52:143 - to be consistent with 01:03:006 (4,5,1) -

  3. 00:11:454 (3,4,1) - I would enjoy a bigger DS here
  4. 00:16:454 (1,2) - 0.6 SV is too slow imo. it makes these sliders look almost like kicksliders. I think 0.7-0.75 SV would be better
  5. 00:27:488 (1) - make this a 1/2 slider since 1/1 gap is awkward and 00:27:488 - this sounds identical to 00:27:833 - same thing at 00:33:006 (1) -
  6. 00:41:023 (3) - I think 1/4 notes would play better than slider but that's just me
  7. 00:47:661 (1,2) - this stack totally caught me by surprise. why stack? it should be a big jump match the intensity of the song imo. and if you're going to argue that the stack represents the two identical drum sounds sound ], i would ask why you didn't stack 00:46:281 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - since all those notes sound identical as well.

  12. 01:14:385 (1) - 0.3 SV is overkill. pls at least 0.5SV. also mute sliderend

  1. spacing needs some work at the beginning and end sections imo. 00:07:661 (4) - is a strong beat since there's not much else to follow besides guitar. so is 00:08:523 (2) - but you do absolutely nothing to distinguish it from other notes. Either the spacing or the approach angle or something should indicate that it is a strong beat.
  2. 00:09:557 - start of guitar again, so make this beat clickable
  3. 00:39:385 (4,5,6) - in general, linear flows don't play well unless you have a specific reason to use one
  4. 00:41:971 (3) - move this to [38,98] so it's evenly spaced between 00:41:281 (1,2) -
  5. 00:43:178 (2,3,4) - yeah i really don't like linear flows
  6. 00:47:661 (1,2) - same comment as insane
  7. 00:54:212 (2) - is a stronger beat than 00:54:385 (3) - because of the drum, so I would use a bigger DS between 00:53:868 (1,2) - compared to 00:54:212 (2,3) - constant DS is boring and doesn't do a good job at emphasizing strong beats
  8. 00:57:488 (2) - NC for readability plz. I thought 00:57:143 (1,2) - was 1/2 rhythm just like 00:56:626 (1,2) -

  10. 01:04:902 (1,2,3) - not going to comment on this anymore, but linear flows aren't good

Hello. Here from my queue. Hope this helps!

[Extra]

00:11:109 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4) – I really like this. I really really do. Osu needs more maps of this bpm with this kind of spacing. However, this spacing introduces some subjective problems with the pacing in your map, which the following suggestions relate to:

  1. 00:34:557 (1) – These cymbals start to increase the intensity. The jumps into them are very low though (with the above spacing in mind). I'd like to see some bigger jumps here, 00:35:075 (3) – and 00:35:764 (1) - (not too big obviously, but enough to re-engage the player after a relatively calm section)
  2. 00:48:350 (1) – This doesn't feel like a kiai section in the map. The section at 00:45:592 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2) – is build up. It's supposed to build into something stronger than itself. The average DS in the kiai though is pretty weak, and as a result, this supposedly “strong chorus” feels like just a mildly spicy interlude. So for example, 00:48:695 (2) – feels better with a DS of 2.8x instead of 2.3x. 00:50:592 (4) – Feels better with a prev of 3.2x, which sets up 00:51:109 (1,2,3,4,5,6) – to be a very strong measure, then bringing it back down with a “rest” measure at 00:52:316 (1,2,3,4) - . Basically, increase the DS everywhere by a lot except on the “rest” measure which you should increase by only a little. This map might be a good model to see where I want the kiai to go if you keep the current spacings at 00:11:109 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4) – and 00:45:592 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2) – . (comments below related)
  3. An SV of 1.2x might also be more appropriate. We clearly agree on the idea of an SV increase, but I think you don't go hard enough on that idea given the high spacings mentioned and the suggested DS increase.
  4. If you do increase the DS in the chorus, you're going to run out of room quite a lot. It might help to lower the circle size (by which I mean the circles should be physically smaller) to give yourself the more space by not needing the DS to be so big in order to get the same intensity of spacing.
  5. Consider doing this regardless of any DS changes in the kiai. At 00:45:592 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2) – try starting 00:45:592 (1,2,3,4) – off with a DS closer to ~1.5x, and subsequently lowering each combo a bit so that you still get your dramatic increases, but the end result would be a bit lower DS which could be beneficial if you want to change your pacing for reasons above.
  6. If you decide not to increase the DS in the chorus, I would suggest decreasing the DS at 00:11:109 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4) – (as much as I don't want you to do this, I also don't want to be given expectations of high spacing and then being let down).
Here is a graph from automod that shows the level of spacing throughout the map (bottom one): http://puu.sh/nc5lP/86703aecf3.png. This is what I mean by having your pacing all wonky. After the second big spike comes the kiai section, which turns into a valley instead of staying on a similar level or increasing. This is wonky pacing to me.

You flow and structure are pretty great, so not really much else to say. I could talk about more spacing issues like 01:20:764 (4,5) – being a little low and 00:55:592 (2,3) – being a little low, but these have a lot less impact than the above.

Since I mention pacing a lot, I might as well share this video that talks about pacing in other mediums. It's kind of cool food for thought if you're interested in the discussion above

00:47:833 (2,1) – Consider lowering this spacing (to maybe ~2.3x?) to give more of a rest to the player after the hard jumps. (one way to help achieve this is by doing ctrl H on (1) ).

01:07:661 (1,2,1,2) – I don't see the logic behind repeating the flow. What's repeating in the song? The ½ rhythm versus the 1/1 rhythm give these two combos a pretty different feeling in the song, so I suggest some kind of flow change. 00:08:954 (3) – Going into ¼ rhythm feels a little odd with all the 1/1 breaks you make. Why such a variable rhythm in this section of the map? It's also a little odd reading it since the stacks at 00:06:454 (4,5) – are ½, but this similar looking stack is ¼.

00:45:247 (5,6,7,1) – This however does get you into a little bit of a problem with the stack because the DS now isn't your consistent 1.3x, which feels a little odd.

01:03:006 (4,5) – Consider making this a ½ slider instead?

* NC of the notes on 00:13:006 - is inconsistent throughout the diffs. I suggest to not NC any of it, to avoid NC spam on like Normal 00:13:006 (1,1,1) - .
* 01:10:419 (1) - Except Extra, I think reducing this to 01:11:626 - would fit better. There's nothing prominent on the downbeat, so why not end it on where the vocal ends? Also only on Hard 01:12:833 - is NC'd.
* It would have been good if the distance and the sv on Normal was a little bit bigger since right now it's almost the same with Easy... 0.8*1.2=0.96, 1.0*1.0=1.0, and it gets suddenly really big on Hard 1.4*1.3=1.82. So Normal is basically just more clicks than Easy while the intensity of movement remains almost same. Hard's movement is indeed really intense compared to the easier diffs.
* 00:36:626 - Remove finish? There's no cymbal sound and feels a bit spammed there.

[Easy]
* 01:22:833 (3,1) - This isn't really comfortable for newbie players. The flow goes outer and then spinner is right there, so they have to struggle to get to the center and try to spin properly. So try something that goes inside.

* 00:46:281 (2,3,4,5) - This pattern looks really shrinked. The atmosphere is getting wild but it requires very little movement. Also the overlap 00:46:281 (2,4) - looks bad because this map is a clean style, and all other overlaps just indicated 1/2 gaps but this one just looks like a random overlap.
* 00:50:075 (4,5) - 01:01:109 (4) - Try to use consistent rhythm
* 01:08:178 (2) - Overlaps with the HP bar. Pull it down a little.
* 01:15:247 (5) - How about 1 circle and 1 1/2 slider? You started to represent the drums on 01:13:178 (1,2) - so it would be consistent to care about the drums afterwards too.

* Reduce OD to 6. Insane is 7. Or tell Fizz to increase his diff to 7.5
