Hello everyone not sure if this is right here but whatever. Three months ago i had to forcefully switch my main finger from index + middle to middle + ringfinger due to terrible pain in my indexfinger. After a week it still hurt so i took two whole months off from osu. My indexfinger still hurts sometimes but not as bad anymore so its bearable. The Problem right now is that i feel like i cant keep playing since everything feels uncomfortable. Cant single tap half as good as i used to be which is kinda exspected, cant start triples or streams with middlefinger, have no stamia or speed whatsoever but i cant push myself to play much anymore due to university and being afraid of hurting my middlefinger as well. So my question for you guys is should i stop playing since im getting nowhere or should i play like i dont care anymore or maybe you have other options since i dont feel good at all while playing currently im just getting frustrated everytime i play after like 30min.

sorry for my bad english im terrible at writing in different language but speaking is no problem ? :o
A Medic
Take a small break from osu and wait for your index finger to recover.

Not sure if you read it but i took a 2month break already and now i cant tap with my index anymore since it feels wrong
Tbh
Well even though osu! is one hell of a game, it's not worth it to damage your fingers :/ Maybe try taking a break until you've fully recovered
Luminaty
As Tbh and A Medic said, just wait until your finger healed well. And if you really want to play osu! you can make maps with smaller difficulty with another finger.

Ty for the answers. If i wait for it to be fully healed which can take forever ( got no clue when its healed since my index still hurts sometimes even i dont do anything with it ) the thing is that already now it feels strange to play with it how does that then works when its healed even more uncomfortable?

Apparently, you're obligated to alternate when you have a non-mech keyboard like me. Gotta get those mechs if you really want to singletap because injuries are often gotten in really small amounts of damage everyday which piles up. If you have a non-mech kb, the damage to your tapping finger piles up faster at least, what I was told.

I'm new here but apparently when someone has a problem answer is always " play more " so gl

In most cases play more is 90% accurate but if you are already injured play more is like the worst thing to do

Well then, that's just a beginner's sickness, not injury or you may be tapping harder than what you should. All you need is to do is rest play rest play rest play until you've somehow managed to raise your fatigue threshold.

So play more.

So if my finger hurts so bad 3 months ago that i couldnt even use it for day to day things you assume i didnt play enough and im beginner thats does give up when something feels not right?! again for you i had to switch fingers because even after a two month break i still had problems sometimes after nothing more than 10-20 maps and you tell me i should play more? great really great

Play more "smartly". I assumed that playing smartly was automatic for any player. No one told you to play until you break your finger nor play and stop at the first signs of pain. There's like a gazillion of players who singletap since it's the most popular playstyle accompanied by tons of playcounts (and literally continuously playing in multi for several hours) but this is seriously a first I've heard of it.

You either overplayed (ignored pain and still played) or you tapped your keys reaaaally hard that a nerve in your tapping finger got injured real bad in that particular day. Take a break for 1 year/2 years if 2 months won't do it. What did your doctor even tell you?

ty now i can quit since thats basicly the same as taking a break for two years and i played quite smartly. inever played two hours straight, i took breaks but my fingers were not up to it even then. requesting close since this is getting nowhere.

Try switching hands for a new challenge xD Use your left hand as your mouse/tablet hand and your right to tap 1 and 2 on the numpad :D Good idea?

Im already left handed :D so it would be the other way around and i tried but its horrible cant hold the pen in my right hand since i have zero finger control
