[resolved] Osu Lag

Problem Details: Since the update where the default Osu background became the one with the triangles, I've been having some really annoying lag issues. (I know it's been a while, but I didn't have much time to play Osu before because of work... But now I do.)

I'm not sure what kind of lag it is. I don't really know much about the technical aspects of things. The most common problem I'm having is how the cursor freezes for less than a second and jumps to a new position. I can't explain it well, so here's a video.


My clicks don't register sometimes. More often, they register late, so I get a lot of 100s and 50s when I'm not supposed to. Slider breaks are everywhere.

Besides that, rarely, Osu may even completely freeze for a few seconds (it can last from 2 seconds to more than 10 seconds) while I'm playing a song.

I've tried running Osu on all the different release streams. I've tried running it on 120fps, 140fps, and unlimited. I've tried compatibility mode, and I've tried checking the box that says "reduce dropped frames." I've tried running Osu on different screen resolutions, and I've tried turning off fullscreen mode, and I've tried running with letterboxing. None of these things have helped! (I don't run anything in the background while playing Osu, so it's not because I'm running too many things!)

If anyone has any suggestions or an explanation of what's wrong, that would be great! Osu was completely fine before the update that made the default Osu background the one with the triangles. I've never had any problems like this before...

I switched to Stable (fallback) and it seemed to temporarily solve my problem for a few days, then it started lagging again. Then I switched to Stable (latest) and it also temporarily fixed my problem... And today it started lagging again.

I'm on cutting edge now. I hope this was what you meant?

By the looks of it, your performance spike happens when updating cursor position. It might be related to how your input device handles raw input. Try disabling raw input.
