Well, you're not gonna suddenly learn how to read. It's gonna take some time.
That being said, the way I read is that I focus almost enitrely on the circle numbers. With time, I learned to basically ignore anything else while still noticing all numbers. That way, my full focus goes on anything where I have to press the key down (single notes and slider starts) while only a lower focus goes on the rest (where I have to keep the key pressed, e.g. sliders). At the same time, it enables me to react fast enough to the new notes.
Of course, I don't actively read the numbers. It's more that my skin has exactly three white elements: The progress bar (which isn't modable as of now), my cursor and the circle numbers, so it's more that I put my full focus on the color white.
