Really nice patch for competetive play this week. Hopefully it'll tone down a bit of the crying coming out from Puppey/Bulba/Western Pro Scene.

GAMEPLAY
- Fixed some bugs with Pounce movement restriction.
- Fixed being able to cast and attack while using Skewer.
- Fixed Empower buff remaining after casting Black King Bar.
- Fixed Neutral creep chase time being too long.
- Added Pseudo Random chances for the following items: Daedalus, Crystalys, Abyssal Blade, Basher, Heaven's Halbred, Maelstrom, Mjollnir, Static Charge, Monkey King Bar, Poor Man's Shield, Sange, Sange and Yasha, Stout Shield, Vanguard.
- Fixed various ancient AI exploits.

AUDIO
- Some voice gain fixes to improve quality.
- Updates on sound effects for Visage, Viper, Warlock, Tiny and Earthshaker.

MISC
- Fixed an issue where players would not be able to reconnect to a server and would get "You must be in a lobby to connect."
- Undying's Tombstone now caps at 64 maximum zombies.

Big problem people were having when dealing with Mag. He'll still be super strong, but this will help a bit dealing with him.

What don't you get? It's Pseudo Random for items. Previously it was just for crit like on PA and such (I think). Pseudo Random is basically a mechanic that makes it so you don't go on long unlucky or lucky streaks with chance items and abilities.

With pseudo-random you can "sort of" control when you are going to crit, so you can plan ganks easier.

Lets take PA for example

PA has 15% (8% pseudo, can't remember) chance of critting when he hits a target. For everytime he hits a target and he did NOT crit, his crit-chance will increase by a certain amount (8% or so). So this way, before a gank, you hit a creep a few times, hope that you dont crit, and then jump on the opponent, your chances of critting will be much higher. Once you crit, the chance of critting will go back to 15% (8%).

I'm not 100% sure of the values, a bit tricky, you can read more about it on the dota wiki, but that's the basics of it.

EDIT: but in this case it was about items, but it works the same (block with vanguard etc).

Pseudo Random is not yet balanced as far as I see in dota 2 compared to dota 1 yet.
Just like the other time when I was using Ogre Magi and trying out with Pseudo Random,
he will do a 4x Multicast 2 times in a row after a certain period of time.
After some time I think they fixed this.

i can confirm that it is quite reliable now, i get it on average every fourth hit, rarely twice in a row, for 25% chance.

It's the first time I've ever heard of that name. Looks rly HoN/LoL-ish, why don't they just bring in the original DotA heroes like Pit Lord, Techies, Troll Warlord n stuff :/

IMO he is one of those really overrated heroes. Just because he is featured in many Top 10 Videos and whatnot doesn't mean he is good. Basically it is the same thing with Meepo. Yes, you can do cool stuff but in general he is meh. Of those 4 heroes he is clearly the weakest one. Then again Skywrath Mage was the only heroe of those 4 I really played. Legion Commander was just boring and Ember Spirit was...I didn't really understood this hero.

IMO its fine. It already gives you bonus gold and move speed in an AOE. Taking off the armor is fine, and the skill still does its job. It doesn't need to do all that extra.

im just so shocked at icefrogs incompetency when it comes to balance. his hero concepts and design and implementation are great. but look at previous lycan/nagas/invokers/ current templar/sven/twinhead/batrider, or the opposite end dogshit heroes such as morphling/meepo/doom/tree. he has shown after every single patch that he is simply incapable of balancing the game at a competetive or even pub level. fuck icefrog

what? lol lycan is fine. Situational sure, but fine. He's even more potent now with the little buffs. Invoker is 100% fine too... They just shift in and out of the game.

TA got a little nerf, that mana hit will make it so he can't spam refract so much, it'll def hurt her laning a bit. Sven is fine. The God's Strength is a bit rediculous, but def manageable. The little nerfs did him right and so did the crit new. Twin head is fine, specially with the damage nerf.

Icefrog balances fine. Sometimes he may overbuff or underbuff a bit, but he tweaks well and accordingly to the public and competitive players.

previous lycans/invokers. yeah they got less broken after patch, lycan is fine right now, invoker still kinda fucked. but yeah. morphling goes from god tier to utter shit tier. icefrog doesnt know what he is doing. i think twin heads icepath lvl 1 damage nerf will make him balanced, though. i just cant get over templar assassin. so fucking overopwered

imo invoker is fine. he can't throw more than 3 skills early game. and by the time he gets scepter, an enemy BKB should be up by that time

That's exactly how you do it wrong. You're not supposed to make overpowered heroes into heroes which are unplayable because they just became way too crappy. You have to just worsen them a bit so they've got the same power as all other heroes. Sven for example was bad and became overpowered instead of just good. Morphling was overpowered and became way-too-shitty -> unpickable.
You do it like this :
bad -> medium/good
overpowered -> medium/good
Not :
overpowered -> bad
bad -> overpowered,
he just comepletely walks past the balance.

Of course what is medium/good always depends on the situation and how you play the hero, not how the hero itself is.
Overpowered is sth, else, overpowered heroes just fit in everywhere and crush everything at any given time

Easier said than done. There is no way he doesn't have that in his mind, or else this game wouldn't have even existed.

You guys surely haven't played League of Legends, Dota 2/DotA is really balanced, yeah some heroes are better than others, some people say TA is OP, some people say Lycan is worse than meepo, and so on and so forth, but overall the game is really balanced, and yet if some heroes are not THAT balanced you always can find a way around them, for example buying situational items, smoke ganks, etc.
