thanks for the mod JBH~! :3JBHyperion wrote:
Mod on CtB diffs by Kagari's request, plus some general stuff.
General Comments:Difficulty-Specific Comments:
- Song Folder: Both BGs are 1364x767. Any chance you have originals you can resize to 1366x768? - *pokes calvin*
- Song Setup: Jump in AR from Normal to Hard is quite steep, 5.2 > 8, perhaps Normal to 5.5? It would also make reading the stacks present on that diff a little easier imo
- Metadata: No issues
- Timing: Offset sounds a little early currently, I'd try +10 (405 ms)
- Hitsounds:Most hitsound files can be improved - most are unnecessarily long and/or contain large amounts of null audio at the end of the waveform/ This has potential to cause unwanted overlaps with each other, as well as taking up extra space in the song folder. Additionally, soft-hitclap2 has a delay over 5ms which is unrankable. I fixed up the hitsounds for you here
- AImod: No issues
Rain
- 00:00:395 (1,1,4) - High SV is making these first sliders pretty uncomfortable for mew. The music is really calm, yet I almost have to use dash to catch them lol. Angling or curving these slightly would be more comfortable to play and fitting the low intensity of the music here these slightly - okay
- 00:05:996 (5,7) - These beats are super weak, mapping a stream here feels very forced to me. Removing them to give triplet, circle and hdash to the slider (8) would fit the rhythm more closely and play better imo, since you give (6) proper emphasis as a strong snare sound - kayy
- 00:06:281 (8,1) - Swap NC to emphasize the jump and strong sound, this is the start of a new measure in the music - k
- 00:08:179 (2) - I'd drop this distance a little, it can be caught without dash but only with good timing, 1.0x DS would be more comfortable - aye
- 00:09:319 (6,1) - 00:12:357 (6,1) - Same as 00:06:281 (8,1) - okayy
- 00:13:116 (2,3,4) - Keep spacing here consistent or make a more pronounced curve please, it looks messy right now because the spacing is inbetween the two - will try to do something according to your suggestion
- 00:14:255 (2,3) - Same as 00:08:179 (2) - kay
- 00:21:850 (2,3) - 00:22:610 (6,7) - Bit more spacing here please, deceptive as it appears it can be caught without dash. Also, I'm confused as to why 00:22:230 (4,5) has the highest spacing for a quieter kick drum sound. Strong spacing to the snare sounds would fit the rhythm better - lol fixed
- 00:29:255 (1) - Might seem weird, but I'd actually remove this note. There's no strong sound here, and skipping it will draw more emphasis to the strong vocal sound before it, 00:29:065 (6) - okay then
- 00:39:129 (5,6,7) - Having the tail of (6), (7) and the head of (1) grouped together would follow the triplet vocal nicely, I'd remove (6), make (5) a repeat slider and add a circle at 00:39:698 with dash to it - nah, i think the previous one fits better than this... but i readjust the distances of each notes a bit
- 00:42:451 - I find it odd that you skipped this vocal beat when you mapped the much weaker instrumental sounds on the following 1/4 ticks. Wouldn't ignore this personally, could make for a nice hyper pattern - added
- 00:45:964 (1,2) - Another deceptive spacing, plus low spacing to the stronger downbeat. (1) at x-104 would play better and mimic the next pair of notes - okay then
- 01:01:154 - Kiai could really do with some more sliders for variety, there's a large amount of circles at the moment and it can feel quite repetitive. Some pairs of circles with low spacing can be swapped out for sliders where there are vocal sounds, such as 01:04:192 (1,2) - 01:04:762 (4,5) - 01:06:470 (5,6,7,8) - etc. - okayyy
- 01:01:724 (3,4,5) - Feels weird to have a triplet here when you have just 1/2 circles in each of the following patterns. Removing this would be a bit plain though, so maybe make a triplet at 01:04:762 (4,5) as well for the similar vocal sounds there - added
- 01:16:913 (4,5,6,7) - Definitely consider sliders here, these fit the vocal sounds so much better than circles since the odd beats (5,7) are so much weaker than the even ones - alrighty then
- 01:18:812 (5,6) - Similar to 01:19:192 (7,8,1) - there's another triplet sound is here as well if you listen to the drums, would make for a nice rhythm I think - added
- 01:28:496 (1) - 10% volume for the entire spinner duration is annoying to play with HD as there is almost no feedback for the player. 30-40% would be more suitable, since the music is still quite prominent here - k
"Wtf isPoi?"dose
- 00:08:555 (4,5,6,7) - Low spacing on these creates an annoying flowbreak for me, increasing the spacing slightly would play better due to the strength of the hdashes here - it was intended to be played like what you've mentioned
- 00:21:656 - More sliders please, this 1/2 circle spam gets really repetitive. E.g. 00:21:656 (1,2,3,4) - 00:23:745 (4,5,6) as 1/2 sliders and also 00:26:783 (4,5,6) as 1/2 repeater - ewe
- 00:27:353 (7) - Any reason why you decided not to map this triplet sound? Would give a nice mini-stream effect flowing into the hdash to 00:27:732 (1) - added
- 00:29:251 (1) - Same comment as in Rain, works the same way as 00:41:213 (6,1) - okey
- 00:31:340 (4,5) - Increase spacing a little here please, hard to distinguish this as a jump - lol kay
- 00:34:568 (5,6,7,8) - Sliders? - ayy
- 00:44:251 (7,1) - 00:45:770 (8,1) - No need for these to be a hyper since (1) is a very weak beat, regular spacing would be more fitting here - i tried to play around a bit with the spacing using your suggestion but it plays out very weird IMO plus the current one plays better, so I want to keep it as it is for now
- 00:44:441 (1,2) - 00:45:960 (1,2) - Sliders!??!? - ayy
- 00:48:428 (6,7) - Missing a triplet sound here - added
- 01:03:998 (8,1) - 01:04:758 (4,5) - 01:07:036 (8,1) - 01:08:555 (8,1) - Potential places for triplets on the vocal to add variety from 1/2 jump spam - added accordingly
- 01:04:188 (1,2,3) - Spacings feel too low here for me, I find myself overdashing a lot after the previous strong jump pattern. I'd separate these a bit more - fixed
- 01:04:758 (4,5) - 01:07:985 (5,6) - 01:09:125 (3,4) - 01:10:644 (3,4) - SLIDERS?!?1?1!??!1! - AYYYYY
- 01:06:466 (5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4) - 4 strong dash + hdash patterns all in the same direction is quite repetitive. Try to turn the direction at 01:07:036 (8,1) for variety - will do something on this with my own suggestion
- 01:16:340 (1,2,3) - Same as 01:04:188 (1,2,3) - kay
- 01:17:669 (8,1) - Make these a little more horizontal please, the current angling requires a well-timed pause to hit properly which can feel a little uncomfortable to play - it was intended to play like what you've mentioned but I try to make it curvier than it was before
- 01:22:321 (8,1) - If you're going to keep the wiggle prior to this, please consider reducing this hdash strength. To go from delicate movements to a really strong one is very unsettling and will result in a lot of droplet misses here. (1) at x-296 would be much better, since 01:22:985 (2) is a very weak beat anyway and really doesn't fit with hdash - reduced but keeping the hdash to (2)
This is all from me. If you have any questions or want to discuss things further, please don't hesitate to get back to me and I'll see what I can do to help. - help us push this map please~
Good luck! (: -
