[Archived] Osu! now unplayable

Problem Details:
When drawing sliders (and possibly hit circles but the effect is most pronounced with sliders) osu! lags beyond utter belief. The issue is that before today, I have never had this problem; literally 17 hours ago (last night before I went to bed) I was able to play 4 star maps with no lag or issues whatsoever.
For weeks now I have been playing on the beta version of the game, but today after the issues became apparent i switched back to the latest version, and still had no luck. So I've switched back to the fallback version, and osu! runs basically fine (I think there might still be some dropped frames but it's hard to say if it's paranoia) in BOTH DirectX and OpenGL mode.
The only thing i've done today is download the world cup map pack, and I have since moved my song folder and performed a fresh install of osu!, to no avail.

Yes I have tried a restart (no change) and as far as I can tell nothing is running today that wasn't yesterday.

i have also the same problem, yesterday before i went to sleep OSU! was running without any problems, but today when i got the new update OSU! started to lag a lot :(

Same problem. I play on a laptop though and before today, I had no lag issues or problems whatsoever.

EDIT: Apparently lowering the FPS count helps. VSync allows me to play Osu but of course the fps is low. As I set a higher FPS limit the lag kicks in and at unlimted (gameplay) the game is just unplayable.

EDIT 2: Turned off everything in detail settings, set on full screen, set on letterboxing and the game runs fine. Latency is at constant 1.3ms.

same problem here, the sliders (especially long ones) became extremely lag.

I can confirm that osu was stuttering a lot lately for me as well. It happened quite frequently that my screen freezed during gameplay and so I automatically failed. I tried many different settings in the options but the issue was still there. Restarting didn't help.

I also found osu to be almost unplayable. It can be played to some extend but with what feels like a huge delay or an extremely low fps. I love to play 6 to 7 star maps just for fun, but this makes it just impossible.
Using the Fallback version of osu seemed to fix it for me so I believe there's something off with the configuration on the new patch.

It says that the delay is red, and jumps up to 27ms at times.

Same problem. My latency is high even though my fps is fine.
My latency used to be 3ms now stuck at 13ms and doesn't decrease/increase. Using Fullscreen or not doesn't change anything. 13ms.

EDIT : Now having my original latency. No idea what happened, had this problem since yesterday. No program were running on the background.

^Did you check for available graphics card updates? You seem to have a couple draw related frame issues in that log.

Yep, my graphic's card is quite old on this laptop, so the drivers are the latest. But I only started encountering this problem after the 20151107.4 patch, when previously I was doing fine without this problem on stable40. It's still there on the 20151109.2 patch and cutting-edge. Maybe it's got something to do with the 'Improve performance of sliders by caching textures', 'Fade out slider tracks and ticks when hidden is active' and/or 'No longer draw slider circles on the track itself', since the lag spikes from what I can see all happen at the start of sliders fading in.

I get 1.6ms up to 6ms when slightly longer sliders appear with snaking on.

I have an Intel Core i3-4158U processor with an integrated Intel Iris Graphics 5100 graphic card on a laptop if it is of any help.

Can confirm turning off snaking has a very noticeable impact.

Next time create a new thread, since this isn't your issue. If you are talking about the scroll speed issue, it's already fixed in Cutting Edge, and you can adjust the scroll speed again with F3 and F4.
