With the summer season ending, I decided to try to change things up a bit this time. I found out how to automate the creation of dropdowns with all the animes of this season, so I decided to make a proper poll to vote for the anime of the season. Consequently, if you are interested in voting, please fill out the form below. I will try to update the op on the current leader board.

AOTS survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1a38ncN ... =send_form

#1 Anime will get 2 points
#2 Anime will get 1 point

Besides that, feel free to discuss your thoughts on the various shows of this season.

9/28 update:
The Leaderboard right now:
1st place - Gangsta - 7pts
2nd place - Rokka no Yuusha - 6pts
Will show something better when I have time to play with GDocs tonight.

Looks like I'll have to fill this out after I see the Pokemon Movie :3

Shirayuki-hime, Dragon Ball Chou, Gate, Monster Musume, Seiyuu, To-Love Ru, Ushio to Tora, Baby Steps 2, and whatever leftovers/long shows I watch. Mostly enjoyed these ones I guess.

still saving Illya until it finishes though to marathon it.

The rest I couldn't really get through or just lost interest/never had time to watch the episodes. Rokka the 7th brave part is really boring the f out of me, overlord is just not interesting.. I gave it like 3 episodes and I couldn't focus or enjoy it at all. Himouto is just a headache, and somehow watching 5 episodes of it proves I'm mentally ill. Charlotte I just didn't get time for, I got halfway through it as well.

Still never watched episode 2 of Gangsta, Chaos Dragon, Gakkou or Aoharu to name a few....

I'll add as stuff finishes

Ranbo Kitan: Game of Laplace: I couldn't grasp the tone this series was going for, at times it seemed to be going for a Psycho Pass/Zankyo no Terror vibe while other times it felt like Danganronpa; all of which are better. The mysteries are not intriguing and child genius detectives are so worn out. There was the occasional good scene and the unusual atmosphere I enjoy but it doesn't reach any kind of impressive level here. Many of the supporting characters are garbage too often with only one eccentricity making their character. The best part is usually when the ending theme begins to play.

Okusama ga Seitokaichou: I personally can't justify recommending any kind of short episode series but this one is really how all ecchi series should be, short as it doesn't drag out fanservice scenes. However in the end it's is just another softcore porn series so people don't have to ashamedly say they watch hentai or whatever, they are pretty all the same you just need to find one with girls that suit your tastes. This one is alright for what it is.

AoharuxKikanjuu: I think this is the fourth airsoft series in the last few years. They are all pretty lack luster and nothing really happens in this one. This has better potential than the others but I don't see this getting any sequel. The heroine has some charm but I'd still prefer to rewatch skipbeat instead of this.

Rokka no Yuusha: I was surprised by how this series developed ultimately into a whodunnit but the cast fighting amongst eachother with their quirks and abilities ended up much more interesting than what I would expect with them united. The introduction is pretty slow and the concluding episode leaves much to be desired which I'd imagine is due to it's original content or to negotiate a second season. The characters abilities are sadly put out for plot convenience and there is no real logic behind them most of the time. The series is compelling but by no means perfect, and the open ending is bad for it.

Aikatsu! 3: For this series they decided to "reboot" and begin with a new cast of Ichigo's juniors. It is very similar in style to season one except better animated with better music for the most part. It really comes down to which cast you prefer as to if you will enjoy it more or not. For the most part it is positive.

GATE: The series began with a particular charm which it carried throughout disappointingly the series also became increasingly haremy and fixated on otaku fanservice. The diplomatic stuff could have been incredibly boring but the series was smart enough to sidestep it with comedy. The series was a fun watch but I don't see myself as a big advocate for others to watch it. It also had an open ending but a second series for this is a much better fit than others such as Rokka no Yuusha.

Shimoneta: A boring and repetitive execution of plot and the vulgar jokes were never funny and they are repeated so often if you did find them funny you wouldn't by the end. This series could have had a sensible metaphor to it but never strives for much more than crass humour. Anna is never funny (but I never like yanderes anyway). For this kind of comedy Prison school was the much better alternative for the season.

Wakakao Zake: Completely apathetic to this series. You feel nothing from it or it's characters. A complete waste of time.

Baby Steps: Now that this series has built up the fundamentals from season 1 it is now free to build on it's story and characters. While I am pleased with how the series has progressed it often feels flavourless and the characters feel bland. Season 2 is better than season 1 in my opinion.

Makura no Danshi: Just a new substanceless character each week. Just female directed fanservice. It's pretty pathetic.

Joukamachi no Dandelion: Cute series that just didn't try to be anything. Forgettable characters and too many of them too, the superpowers seem to have no purpose. The election just seems to exist so they can have a final episode that feels like one, even though it has no stakes or build up. The desire to have fanservice but still keeping it child appropriate was just bizarre and wasted time each episode.

Jitsu wa Watashi wa: Another boring harem series. Nothing new.

Non Non Biyori Repeat: Really didn't deserve a second season but more of the charm people seem to love. Moments were good but that is about it.

Akagami no Shirayukihime: Initially this series was a candidate for anime of the season but once Shirayuki got into the castle as a herbalist the series progression really slowed down and got much less interesting. This series was actually something new and had characters to care about. Worth checking out.

Chaos Dragon: I think I missed an episode or two but literally didn't care. This series was horrible. The frequent case of friends lining up to kill themselves to save the day just sucked out any fun the series could have had and made the drama unbearable. The combat is terrible, don't watch this.

Monster Musume no iru Nichijou: Didn't like any of the characters (even with how many there were), didn't like the plot lines, didn't like the comedy and didn't like the fanservice. I was completely stone faced throughout watching this series just waiting for episodes to end. I really hope this doesn't get a second season.

Kyoukai no Rinne: Second half is better than the second half with Rinna and Mamiya making a very interesting onscreen couple. The comedy continues to be a lame and many of the problems continue from the first half. There are plenty of funnier shows out there.

Bikini Warriors: Might as well read my Okusama ga Seitokaichou review again because the same thing applies here too, except with added RPG cliche jokes.

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan: Worst anime of the season, The story is a horrible blend of LN cliches, animation is garbage and so are the characters. The devil beetles only attack for plot convenience, the tournament is cliche and some of the worst fighting I have ever seen and the final forced plot to fill time has shocking pacing and is just another giant cliche. Don't expect any development or much backstory for the characters either.

Himouto! Umaru-chan: Crap for weebs to self insert and say omg I'm exactly like the protagonist. This generations closeted otaku anime and it is so much worse than Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu and OreImo. Just recycled character traits and pop culture jokes. An even bigger let down is this shows popularity, I'm disappointed in you all.

Ore Monogatari: Different enough for your typical shoujo to be worth the watch, gets a tad repetitive and I really wish Ichinose was introduced sooner. Evident problems from the start stick around and it goes up and down in terms of enjoyability.

Danchigai: An anime for siscons I'm pretty sure. Short and not much to it.

Ninja Slayer: Lacking the surprise value and not as good as Inferno cop. Funny in the right context especially as a parody of Ninja and shounen series'. The characters are varied and Yamato Koki is awesome. But please trigger save anime again with another proper series.

Gakkou Gurashi!: This series had potential however did too little too late. Most of what it is celebrated for is the fact that it behaves as a normal moe series but the true nature is elsewhere. It is congratulated for going with the generic plot and what it could have done rather than what it did do. It is an interesting case and blue for that reason but definitely not green worthy.

Wakaba Girl: Boring moeblob slice of life. Super predicable even the most basic attempts a comedy fail. Completely forgettable characters.

Miss Monochrome: She wants to shine even more. There I spoiled it so you don't need to watch. Theme songs are particularily grating on the ears even moreso than Yui Horie's manipulated voice. The fact that there is a third one is disgusting.

Shokugeki no Soma: The second cour was significantly worse than the first (or it's charm wore off) as it started introducing more specialist in an attempt to compete with Soma, seemed wrong considering how bad luck would have got these characters expelled if they were around for the first half. The obsession with umami continues throughout and the excessive descriptions were exhausting to sit through. The central cast however is fun to watch grow up however I'm not to pleased with the series direction.

Prison School: This series was constantly smart in it's execution while some of the humor was grotesque and repulsive past that was genius. The ending while similar in nature to Rokka no Yuusha, it played out much more organically in a way that generates interest in what is next to come. I was sceptical at first whether the series would run out of new material but the series went beyond my expectations.

Classroom Crisis: Started with some horrendous episodes and while it regained control never didn't anything to ignite my interest in it. Incredibly political and naive along with a setting that doesn't interest me was the last nail in the coffin. Especially cheesy in it's conclusion too.

Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Ilya 2wei Hertz: As tthe title becomes more outrageous so does the plot. While the beginning is filled with standard Ilya fun the story at the end begins to weigh the series down with lore suggesting it is no longer parody but it's own sector of the greater Nasu-verse. Huge slabs of dialogue and overbearing story lines simply don't work for this series. If you liked the first half of season 2 go ahead but it simply doesn't compare to season 1.

Charlotte: Likely weighed down by my expectations this series failed to engage me. The characters aren't refreshing and the scenario doesn't do anything for me. The series lives in the shadow of Angel Beats however unlike AB this one is more suited to a longer run time. At this point all Key stuff just feels the same and bores me.

Denpa Kyoushi: Second worst anime of the season. Poor in every department and as is a childish version of GTO. It's another one of these prove the super genius otaku to be always right series'which I absolutely loathe. Each arc is just boring and predictable. Glad it is finally over.

Working: A series that had become stale for me. Glad to see there was some forward direction between the characters and this is likely to be Working's last season. While the franchise is okay I don't think anything will drive me to rewatch it ever.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX: Forcing the plot to continue really drove this series off a cliff. Nothing here to see unless you desire the extreme over-the-top escapades the series is known for like supplexing a crashing space-shuttle. The series is a big joke in a "So bad it's good" kind of way. Don't watch it to take anything seriously.

Durarara X2: Brilliant first season but X2 is just difficult to follow and the cast has grown beyond it's limit. It's good to see the characters you've grown to love again but this series is just a mess.

Gangsta: This series was a breath of fresh air willing to cover a much darker world with a hint of badass fight scenes. While initially I thought we'd see Nic and Worick as a pair but the series quickly established them as individuals with separate goals and partners of circumstance, kudos in particular for Nic's voice actor for being an actual performance I can say is fantastic and showing voice acting is actually a skill rather than having a popular and recognisable voice. Music is on point especially during the fight scenes and silence was well implemented. The action is pretty good. The character interactions can get a bit out of hand and is a lot to remember and while the recap episode is helpful for this I was always forgetting where the less important characters belong. The conclusion was rather sloppy too.

Arslan Senki: This series has slight pacing issues, when the series is interesting it will usual last for a while but this is also true for slow moments as well. I was concerned as to whether the ending would be rushed but its ends at a good spot too. The characters are diverse and play their specific roles but I don't feel they grow and expand beyond that as much as I like. The series ended up much different than what I initially expected but it was still pretty decent.

Overlord: The initial world building was great and had the feel of and MMO with a history, sadly the merits of the series stop there as the characters or events of the series don't capture any interest and the final battle is just two characters pulling abilities and special effects out of a hat without any explanation.

Sore ga Seiyuu: After reading Koe de Oshigoto for so long most of these seiyuu shows really don't do anything new. Once one comes out doing something original I'll find a reason to recommend one. I also don't care for seiyuus as it is.

To-love-ru Darkness 2: Back in it's overrated glory. Same criticism that applies to any ecchi/ borderline hentai series. Continues to force Momo and Yami anywhere it can diminishing their appeal. Any new characters Darkness introduced are inferior to the original cast. I feel no desire to rewatch it when uncensored either.

Idolm@ster: Cinderella Girls: Much better, more focused second half, still not worth watching however as the damage dealt by having no reason to care about the characters was already dealt. I hope the idol craze dies down now.

That is literally the whole show though and this is so much better of the alternative of "We are a team of heroes roleplaying a generic RPG plot"

Actually, I would have preferred the more generic RPG plot as the characters were pretty well built for it. It just seems like wasted potential for what was expected I guess. I mean, I haven't seen more than 2 or 3 episodes of the 7th brave part, but I honestly felt like the series is being drawn out because of it. If it only lasted 2 episodes or something, then it would have been great. Just comparing the first few episodes to this though... It's way too big of a change imo.

I don't know exactly where you stopped but it does develop much beyond just lets chat things out in a cave. Once it is finished I'll mention in my review but there were problems I had with it still.

My favorite was probably Himouto! Umaru-Chan!. I really liked Yuru Yuri Nachuyachumi+, but I don't think it's worth being AOTS.

Next season looks horrible although based on the popularity of this thread I doubt anyone watches anything

Yep horrible, Young Black Jack will probably be the best show airing and you didn't even mention it.
The fact that someone finds Miss Monochrome something to be excited for facepalm.

Rokka no Yuusha is by far the best I've watched in this season (and already finished airing).

Small review, it may contain not hidden spoilers
It was kind of slow in the beginning that I began to think I just kept watching it for inertia, but got pretty interesting later and I got hooked by it. Unless you're the spectator who just sits and watches, you'll find this pretty interesting and you're be using your head for a while, and even get surprised if you're not paying enough attention (I didn't even think about Nachetanya, lol).

There was this smooth animation everytime, which made the few (true) battles really cool (The battle between Adlet and Hans was my favourite).

About the music, I had enough with Yoko Hikasa. But it doesn't stop there, BGM really suited the atmosphere and it wasn't neither too distracting or out of place. Almost in the perfect spot.

There was a few letdowns here, but they don't turn this into a bad anime. There was this open ending that leaves you not confused, but more like "are you kidding?", as there's this rush in the very ending. And being honest, I would've liked to see why some of them were chosen as heroes (I bet Goldov is what most of you would be wondering about).

If you're expecting a cool adventure anime, you'll probably be turned down, yet you should give this a try, you won't have a bad time.

It's followed by Overlord and Gangsta (not writing anything about them for now, I'll wait until they finish, and me motivated to write something). Notable mention to Symphogear GX.

Only commenting on series I finished so far.

Rokka no Yuusha: It started out as a strong candidate for this season, but by the end, I can barely give it a recommendation. It had great animation, an amusing cast, and what started as a decent storyline. However, the series quickly became a long drawn out and repetitive bullying of Adlet and Flamie. You can say it showed the perserverance that Adlet had, but they showed Adlet getting beaten many more times than necessary imo. To top it off, the ending repeating plot twist pretty much killed any wanting I had for a sequal. In short, I would say, watch the beginning and the fights, and just skim the plot because you really shouldn't pay it much attention

Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki: All I can really say is that this show is so bad, that it is amazing. Terrible CG with some of C^3 animations combined with super overblown drama made this series both so amazingly bad and good at the same time. If you want to try a show so bad that it is good, I recommend this. (I actually really enjoyed this show for how bad it was, but I can't with good conscious recommend this show to anyone unless they want something awful, unless you're talking abut the ED, which is by far my favorite ED this season)

Aoharu x Kikanjuu: How did I bear Hotaru's angst, the nonsenicalness Hotaru's actions, or the general slow-paced nature of this show? I wish I knew. There was bascially nothing to look forward to in this show with the action scenes being super repetitive and lack of humor or interesting plot. I guess there were a few good moments, but that is like looking for treasure in a long dungeon.

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri: Since I already knew the plot from reading the manga, I already knew what to expect, and the show basically delivered what I expected, no more, no less.

Joukamachi no Dandelion: A decent gag series with decent jokes and YuiKaori. I mean, I wish they animated the idol performances, but I can't say I disliked the show, just don't expect too much.
Starfall9908
Rokka no Yuusha: I really enjoyed watching this anime. I actually didn't havi this in my watching list until a friend forced me to watch it (lol) The sad thing was that they totally missed the point of the whole thing. Instead of fighting the demon god or whatever name it had so did they just have a goddamn fight of who was the seventh. Which makes me a bit sad, I would like to see a second season at least ;__;

Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki: I liked how they had those badass characters and fighting scenes, the plot was pretty good too, it was a sad thing that they ruined it with "everyone is going to die" part. Because everyone who's around MC wanted to sacrifice themselfes which was really boring. The way it ended was really beautiful. The ending song was awesome too, I hope I can see it ranked one day~

Aoharu X Kikanjuu: *Table flip* I liked how Hotaru was a totally different person on the field than the usual. All kind of shit happening. I am totally not happy with the way it ended because that ending wasn't the ending I wanted to see. I wish it get's a second season because it seemed to be a bit popular especially among girls The power of Mattsun's handsomness(according to what I saw on Tumblr). The Opening song was the best Opening EVER! The voice acting was awesome too. I didn't actually expect that Maeno was voice acting in Aoharu X Kikanjuu until I actually checked the cast list lol.

Kyoukai no Rinne: I liked the plot and how the characters was created and changed as the time passed. The boring puns pissed me off making me wonder why I'm even watching Kyoukai no Rinne a few times. Well, I think I'll watch the second season at least (comes out Spring 2016)

Ranbo Kitan: Game of Laplace: Another anime that a friend recommended me. I'll never regret watching this. A nice opening and a nice ending. The mysteries in the anime made me want to continue watching. It was intresting to see Kobayashi grow up and actually get to thing that things are fun. The ending was beautiful. I hope this anime get's a second season because it deserves it.

Sore ga Seiyuu!: This anime is one type of anime that I've been waiting to see forever. I'm intrested in becoming a voice actress and this anime tells you everything you want to know in details, it gives you different kind of tips. Voice actors like Horie Yui, Kugimiya Rie and Kamiya Hiroshi was unexpectedly voice acted by themselfes which is also something that only Sore ga Seiyuu! can do. IN every episode so do a famous voice actor appear and gives an important lesson to a newbie. Watching this made me think again why I want to become a voice actress and makes my feeling of wanting to work in this field a lot stronger. (I'm not sure if it's over yet... Well I'll go with this for now I think~)

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime: More romance~ Yaaaay >u< I'm having a hard time deciding if Aoharu X Kikanjuu is better than Akagami no Shirayuki-hime or not. So for now so are they equally good in my eyes. I thought of watching this when I randomly found the PV on Tumblr so I'm thankful to the one who sent it. This anime was really beautiful. Unlike the other romance anime that I've seen so far so so isn't it just some pura random girls coming to a guy and building a releation ship knowing that they love each other. Here so is Shirayuki a girl who actually works hard to reach to her current position with the thought of wanting to see everything the same way that Zen sees it. The ending was cute and refreshing, it makes me wonder what will happen in second season. I want to see Zen and Shirayuki's relationship grow even more.

Ore Monogatari!!: Another romance that I really love. Unlike normal romance and Shoujo manga/anime so isn't Takeo the handsome guy. It's like a lesson for us to not judge people by their look. Another good anime made by Mad House. Suna changed the whle thing, because it's thanks to him that we don't have to spend the 24 episodes suffering of why Yamato and Takeo didn't make any progress. Every episode wasn't about Takeo and Rinko but also about other characters and their relationship which maes it a lot funnier and intresting to watch.

Himouto! Umaru-chan: Basicly so is this my life in one anime. Lazy around with a bottle of cola and a lot of snacks. I started watching this anime because Kakihara Tetsuya was voice acting Alex, but I really had a fun time watching this anime and it was really easy to think myself being in that situation (except the fact that I don't have an older brother but just a bunch of younger siblings ;___;)

Kuusen Madoushi: This anime is competing with Chaos Dragon on the worst anime of the season (among the anime I've watched) I would ask why I watched this if Kakihara tetsuya wasn't a part of the cast. The jokes are extremely lame (even worse than Kyoukai no Rinne). The battle scenes was badass and I could enjoy watching them but even worse was the Harem. Even though I'm a girl so is this the worst harem I've seen ever (I can't even compare it to the reverse harems I've seen so far).

I've only seen the first episode of Makura no Danshi and I won't even bother writing a whole comment on it because it's just like listening to a drama CD while watching at some GIFs (the "Drama CD" isn't even intresting) The only thing that was good with the anime was the voice acting. I can't even compare this to the reverse harem I've seen so far like Diabolik Lovers, Amnesia, Brothers Conflict, Hakuouki and Bonjour♪Koiaji Pâtisserie.

I think it's pretty good for a short show ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Himouto! Umaru-chan was definitely my favorite from this season. It's similar to a lot of other shows about "secret" otaku, but its funny enough to keep me watching.
Starfall9908
Junjou Romantica 3: I'm so happy that I got to see the 3rd season (I had no idea that there was a third season until the moment the first episode was out) Some more Shounen Ai, it's good to see it once in a while. Just like Sekaiichi that's made by the same author so isn't it a hardcore Shounen ai but it's something that everyone can enjoy watching even those who are newbies when it comes to watching Shounen Ai :3

Gakkou Gurashi!: Another anime recommended by a friend. All I say is feels. Such a happy go lucky atmosphere yet so can they make you cry your eyes out at the last episodes.
Faust
Eh.

Durarara!! X2 Ten:

Just trailing along the series as it covers more from the novels, even if animation quality is consistently shaky.
Still a high preference over so much of currently/aired shows.

Prison School:

Great pacing, and fairly good rendition of the original art-style to boot.
Was interested from the get-go, and so far hasn't let me down in terms of entertainment.

Working!!!:

Various step-ups in cast relationships. Am sort of tired of Yamada antics, but so far the turn of events make it worth the follow.

And as for everything else, I didn't follow or dropped them a few episodes in and they're really not worth the mention here.
xxdeathx
I am thrilled with this season because of one show:

School Live! - I've never encountered so much suspense while watching this, but the direction was impeccable and there was never a dull moment when I wasn't anticipating what was happening next or excited/terrified when something got revealed. No other show has done this yet.

Everyday Life with Monster Girls - do they not call fans of these "furries"?

GATE - Interesting as hell premise and lots of different things they did to explore the interactions with people from an easily accessible alternate universe. The main character designs were really well done or cute, especially Lelei. Most of the show felt really slow paced though, and I don't feel enough has happened by the end of this half.

Rokka no Yuusha - I thought they were gonna fight the demon god, not spend 80% of the episodes beating up Adlet. The evidence made sense although a lot of it was through plot convenience. Also the ending is back to square 1, which annoyed me.

My Wife is the Student Council President! - Pretty decent for a H series. I found out the manga artist who did this has other similarly good series.
Navizel
I never knew snakes have furs
Green Platinum
Anthropomorphised animals and monster girls are completely different.
Navizel
Monsters in the sense that they deviate from what people consider normal.

oh and by the way, slimes don't have fur.
xxdeathx
Well the point is that monster/human hybrids are weird as hell and I can't quite understand why so many people are into it
Faust
Because we are all morally bankrupt and cannot help but love smothering in the filth that is filling up this scumbagdom of disgusting weebs culture.
Navizel
I don't get why people liked The Little Mermaid either
Green Platinum
Catgirls are Monstergirls too
xxdeathx
i'd put any *-girls into that lot, but generally cat girls have had a much bigger fanbase and for longer than well other things

Prison School - This show is fking stupid and there are so many things wrong with it that I don't know where to begin. Despite that, I realized they know what they're doing and have a unique sense of humor that takes things to the extreme. At least the ending was the one entirely satisfying part to come out of this.

Food Wars - Decent show through and through. All of the arcs were super interesting and made me want to know what happened next.

Classroom Crisis - Okay enough to finish it, the most entertaining part would be the character interactions I guess.
Starfall9908
Charlotte: Thank you for the horrible Subs in the very very end Kissanime (the subs where fkd) The ending was pretty unexpected but I really liked the ending. I'm glad that I watched this anime becuse if I stopped when I thought that Yuu was an asshole in the start so do I dubt that I would get to see Shunsuke who is now my favorite character of the season. I don't think that this will get a second season which I think is very sad.

Durarara!!x2 Ten: Compared to the very first season so do I believe that the quality is getting worse. What will happen in January ;__; Also why do the last episode in the second season courses end with something happening to Izaya wtf?
xxdeathx
Charlotte - Pacing was shit. He traveled the whole world and everything he did was compressed into one episode. Overall though the content was super interesting and characters were quite likable, especially Yusarin. And the final ending song was nice.

Charlotte: In many ways this felt like Symphogear done wrong. Forced excessive melodrama that the audience is supposed to take seriously combined with the terrible pacing of this show brought down the series into oblivion. While it does have some okay humor and decent animation, both do near nothing in saving the plotline that the viewer is forced to watch unfold. (Also watching Marina sing rock songs in English was horrifying, but that is another story)

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei Herz!:
One of the most faithful Fate adaptations, and since I read the manga already, I already know this season was going to be very heavy on the moe SoL. If you didn't want that, well not much can be done because the manga is already written. Moving on, execution of the SoL was solid and fun to watch. And then there is episode 7, the only episode where Silver Link went and burned cash on animation, and it is indeed one of the best fights I've ever seen (there are flaws, but what fight does not have flaws). As long as you come in with the correct expectations, it is a fun season to watch.

Symphogear GX:
My undisputed favorite show of the season. While not as good as G imo, it had all the over the top melodrama, ridiculous character revivals, great use of music, and absurd overly large attacks. All of this while making sure you don't have to take the series seriously. My only real fault with the series was the singular character drama episodes that felt like it was detracting from the big overarching drama, but it is a small in comparison to how much I enjoyed the show more than anything else this season.

b. yoshi when are you updating poll results/spreadsheet of who thought what about each show?

Gangsta - I watch animes to have fun, and this wasn't fun at all. 2/10, the worst show I've completed. I would've stopped watching long ago, but I only continued through because it was supposed to be hyped or something. Literally any other show is more interesting than this boring crap. Probably because this kind of content isn't suited to be an anime, and it has nothing that anime is supposed to have.

I'm interested in your rules for whats not allowed in in anime?
No mafias
No murder
No symbolic racism parallels
No physical disabilities
No drug use
Am I on the right track?
Stick to your Shounen and I'lll enjoy my Seinen stuff.

"Supposed to have"

Why make yourself go through a show based on your believed preconceptions and prolong your own discontent with a show which you clearly do not seem to enjoy.. ?

I do something similar but with an aim to maximise my scope and find more obscure greats that people may drop because the start is poor.

Since xxdeathx is so repulsed by the idea of a series covering adult themes I'd love to see him struggle through something like Perfect Blue. Especially if Gansta is considered "no fun".

Guessing Akagami is third maybe tied with Gate or something?

Sorry just got back, but tbh, 3rd place and after is quite weird.

3rd place: Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei Herz! - 4pts (Someone marked the ova as their answer, but going to guess they meant the ongoing show. If you want to subtract a point from this, go ahead)
4th place: Gakkou Gurashi! - 3pts (tied)
4th place: Durarara!!x2 Ten - 3pts (tied)
4th place: Shokugeki no Souma - 3pts (tied)

Though honestly, we only got 14 responses, so this is a terrible sample set. I don't think it is worthwhile to put these results in the op. Next time, I'll clean up the ovas from the list.

RIP Himouto representation too

The review thread seems a lot quieter than other times too.
Maybe having AOTS threw some people off.

Maybe. I'll take suggestions, but I do have a few more experimental things coming around for the rest of the year (changes to First Impressions, and an AOTY survey)

Edit: FYI, Himouto! got 2 pts.

i'm not gonna force myself again to finish something i'm struggling to watch. gangsta was just yolo and it didn't go well.

faust, because i thought it was gonna pay off or something. but gangsta turned out to be worse of an anime than BD's were of beatmaps.

akagami what's that? nobody watched that

I still want to see your list of why Gangsta is inappropriate but Grisaia for example is somehow okay?

Akagami no Shirayukihime was solid, great looking and original. What was wrong with it?

A lot of things that together made it boring and lame. Dark, drab art style, not colorful or amusing at all. Portrayal of a city that is literally controlled by crime and people getting killed left and right - let's be real here - with that rate of murder the whole population would be dead in a month. "Adult themes" is just a buzzword here, not to be taken seriously. Horribly uninteresting soundtrack, no cool songs, nothing I'd even remotely consider mapping or playing on osu. I tried to follow the plot but it's more confusing than anything, and there were too many side stories going on. Also too many characters to keep track of, and none of the characters were interesting or likable in the slightest.

It's unique, I certainly get that, but not in a way that makes it better.

I'll take your word for it with Hvick with the Red Hair. I don't know anything wrong with it because I didn't watch it, and I don't think anybody else did. That may be why nobody voted for it. Hell the only reason I know it exists is because I ranked Rizia's map of one of the songs.

Castle Town Dandelion - Attractive and not unoriginal character designs and personalities, and decent to watch, but nothing stood out and made it special or anything.

Yet the Grisaia arc of them starving to death was super positive.
Meanwhile in Akame ga Kill the murder rate is incredibly small.

Personally I thing a soundtrack that would be well mapped on osu! would largely indicate it is overpowering. I have this issue with Hiroyuki Sawano's stuff which I know you like.

Akame ga Kill wasn't trying to be "adult" or "realistic" though.

Overlord - Great show overall, had fun watching it all the way. The opening and ending songs are two of the best I've heard in recent times. Too bad the ending had to tease us with all those new plot openings.

While I'd say you're right about this (not exactly overpowering but perhaps stronger than usual), liking the song itself regardless of BPM or power is important in mapping too. I do like some songs that would not be well mapped on osu, like slow or weak, but still good and not boring to listen to.

If anyone wants an ugly showing of the final scores: (Didn't show any that got less than 1 pt)

Only showing this picture because I was using the data as practice for figuring the formulas for what I'll need later.

Is god eater the only thing left to finish?
DakeDekaane
That and Cinderella Girls if we don't count the 2X episode ones.

Also, waiting for the 4th season of Symphogear ;)
