Not to quote an almost week-old post, but usually there should be some decent sense of character development. Even if the show's focus is T&A&gore, the characters should at least seem like they're becoming less like how they were at the beginning. Zombie apocalypse scenario would be fucking perfect for this sort of development in the worst of ways, but alas, that's not what we get.RL Link wrote:

Haruhi ripoff or not, I still did not enjoy Angel Beats. The writing did not make me laugh, the music was horribly composed and sometimes ill-placed (Noda or whoever the fuck he was' theme was absolutely god-awful, for instance), and I wasn't interested in any of the characters. Maybe I've been spoiled by decent anime, but eh.

Been getting into Soul Eater lately. It's impressed me because I've watched 10 episodes so far and I haven't gotten bored... yet. I imagine it's because I've gotten tired of ecchi-like anime. Kemeko Deluxe is the last ecchi anime I tried to watch.. it was TERRIBLE.
But I love the art style and the humor/seriousness that comes with Soul Eater.
As for you guys discussing Haruhi, I think it's an OK anime overall. Got kinda bored with it though.
My favorite anime is probably Lucky Star, including the OVA. There's just something about it that appeals to me that no other anime has.

And personally i loved Toradora, EF - A Tale of Memories, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Midori no Hibi, and lots of the same kind.

Lucky Star's gotta be one of the most random animes I've ever watched, and I really recommend it. Timotei! Timotei!
Aside from that, Toradora!'s not bad either. The best anime I've watched is probably Clannad; it's so good, I'm gonna make my kids watch it.

and if you have a wtf reaction to "In anime, siblings aren't related", I'd recommend Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka.
