Problem Details:

a .osu file with a name included 2 pairs of square bracket will lead to an unexpected .osb file

like this:

artist - title (mapper) [abc[def]].osu
_____bind to↓
artist - title (mapper) [abc.osb
_____but
artist - title (mapper).osb
_____expected↑

osu! version: 20150826.3 (latest)

Uhm, why do you even want to change the filenames?
Just change them in-game, as now nothing is changed at all (Artist/Title/Mapper/Diff is all saved inside the .osu file)

yes,i can avoid this by changing the diff name, but if i really want the special name...
besides,this looks like a bug,isn't it?

Why?
Changing the name of the .osu file changes absolutely nothing

But yes, it seems like a bug though

changing the the name of .osu file just works on your local pc,but you can't upload with that name.because osu will roll all .osu file back to its diff name when uploading beatmaps.

Go into a map that has a storyboard and add [ or ] in the diff name and save. Then see if the storyboard is still working.
