Explanation:
This is my new beatmap, and it's a looong one... When it's finished, it will be about 50 minutes, so it's even longer than parapara, which is kind of ironic since it's not even an actual song.^^ I kinda understand some people are going to hate me for this...
This beatmap basically simulates a complete run through the popular game "I wanna be the Guy", which features 8 Bit Graphics and music from many well-known Video games from the past. I took the mp3 from a complete run recorded by someone called ZaibirQuild on YouTube. You can watch the first of five parts of this run here.
I know it's impossible for such a long map to get ranked, but maybe it will be good enough sometime to be approved?
I was like "IWBTG is the hardest video game in the world, so why shouldn't it also be the longest beatmap in osu!?" (Please correct me if there is a map longer than this.)
So I decided to throw the mp3 files from the run together and started mapping the whole thing. Maybe it's too much work and maybe it's not even worth being approved, but I think it's a fun project.
Actually I wanted to name the diff "Impossible" after the hardest diff in iwbtg, but it seems as it wouldn't upload then...
Overview:
I made this to make navigating and modding this map easier. If you want to mod, just toggle the spoilerbox to see which Parts need modding and at what time to find them.
Mapping:
I tried to use various mapping styles for the different parts. My goal is to make the map slightly more difficult as playtime progresses, but I knowthat won't be simple at some points. Feel free to mod issues if you find them. Don't be afraid of the map's length, you don't have to mod everything at once.
I'm not sure if I want guest mapping for some parts, but I'll accept it if it's good and if I don't think I could make it any better.
Storyboarding:
Well, originally I wanted to include a video of the complete run I mentioned before to reduce work, but the video file was just too big and osu! didn't seem to like that. So I thought I'll storyboard the entire game. However, this might be a little too much work and will even increase the filesize, so it might be enough to make a storyboard consisting of iwbtg screenshots only. Storyboarding help is highly requested and I'll really appreciate it.
Timing:
Since this map consists of many classic video game melodies, it also has many timing points. I have problems to find the correct timing for some parts (you'll find a list below), so please mod them if you have some better timing settings. I decided to have Kiai Time whenever there's a boss battle in the game. Tell me if you have a better idea.
