Hi! A real mod instead of testplay IRC now that it's coming along a bit :)

00:05:161 (5,6,7,8,9) - this sequence ends abruptly, as the guitar continues on until the white tick! consider extending the phrase somehow

00:59:454 (7) - angle slider up to flow better into stream jump, this creates a big difference for flow:

you can get away with bigger angles the farther away the stream jump is, but this close this change improves the flow by quite a bit imo

01:03:204 (5,6,7) - i might be crazy but there is something very slightly off about this triplet, its not perfectly straight

01:11:926 (8,1) - spacing change between these two notes makes the next pattern look a little disjointed, make consistent (this occurs throughout the map and is a nitpick, imo it makes things look rough around the edges but it's a case by case basis on whether you should change it! be sure to look through as I won't list the other examples of this happening)

01:23:503 (6,7) - these will benefit from hitsounding

01:42:661 (4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11) - tidy up to be more defined in it's curves, same spacing just adjust the second half so it's less muddled

01:47:878 (6,7) - i like this but it looks kind of messy, consider changing placement/sliders, keep the rhythm because it's good!

01:53:748 (1) to 02:04:182 (7) - pure sex i have no idea why this isn't kiai because it's so good and climatic

03:09:808 (2) - this placement feels really unnatural to play into the stream and looks a little odd imo

OK, major hitch :o

The Solo Section: 03:13:965 (4) to 04:04:835 (1)

this entire section of map is different from the rest because it has very inconsistent flow + buildup + overall difficulty! I understand that throughout the beginning sections, you want to include a small "rest" for the player which is understandable, but it feels as if this rest kind of spirals out of control and the epic solo that sounds like it should be incredibly fun to play kind of becomes the back drop to 1/1 notes before being thrust into triplets again (nothing against the triplets of course, the triplet parts of the solo are well mapped imo and fitting)! now, this is so outlined because directly after the solo is arguably the best part of the whole map, the perfect low spacing building up stream jumps (starting at 04:08:748 (1) -), which feel 10x more satisfying to play then the kickass solo the song just exited. with changes to the solo, the feel of the map will greatly improve imo and definitely flow a lot better into the conclusion

ok, to start after that huge disclaimer: this is your break section, it's already in there
02:48:530 (2) to 03:02:878 (9) - this is 15 seconds of no effort to play basically, it recharges the player, and the following 15ish seconds is a nice buildup, preparing the player to tab back in mentally and prepare for more streaming, which means it's ok to throw them some difficulty in the upcoming solo!

into the actual solo!

everything until 03:21:465 (3,4,5,6) is fine, consider it an extension of the easing out of break section as mentioned before

03:21:465 (3,4,5,6) - i think this is undermapped and could be a stream or even 1/4 sliders, configure the jumps after accordingly if you change this

03:24:237 (2,3,4,5) - i like this buildup

03:25:052 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - the notes are fine, but these patterns (the uniform up down up down nature of the placement of the notes) isn't fitting to the sound of the music imo, i'd recommend making the placement more 'hectic', switching it up, maybe messing with the spacing, anything to make it just super exciting and climatic! this goes for the other mirrored versions of this pattern in the same triples segment too

03:32:878 (5) - change to fast stream, keep intensity so that the player doesn't fall asleep, because at the moment this section is a real flow breaker when all the flow from that exciting triplets segment could be preserved

03:33:367 (1,1,1) - same as above, your judgement of how exactly you configure/shape the sliders but i think that would improve the section

03:34:835 (2) - there is no note here, but i'm using this as a marker, you should put a 5 stream (4stream leading into a slider most likely) here to match the song rather than leaving it empty, it goes with the sliders as well

what was listed for 03:33:367 (1,1,1) applies to the whole section before the it opens up into the guitar riff

03:37:443 (1) - ok so this appeared to me to be the major offender of the undermapping the solo when i initially played, and i understand why you wouldn't want to put a stream here due to the massive lack of flow coming into it, but if you change the section before it, you can afford to put a crazy, winding stream that changes spacing here because that's honestly what would fit the song to a tee! play around with it and see what you come up with, i'm sure you can make something super exciting to go here

03:45:269 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - no complaints here as this is heavily needed under the consideration that you change the previous section, this break would be highly cherished after the high intensity 30 or so seconds of map before it

03:50:731 (6) - move this to here for flow imo, take or leave this: http://puu.sh/k19c2/e547da0a43.jpg maybe even farther to the left? wide not tall imo

03:52:933 (2) - NC

04:03:367 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - these feel kinda random, maybe change it to match the guitar rhythm like the rest of the solo to avoid it seeming out of place? (the blue tick rhythm of the guitar, would provide a nice break heading into spinner too)

Okay so this might seem a little big of a statement but it basically underlines the issues that will come up around this part of the map (also i know it's partially under construction so i know some of it isn't final):

04:51:465 (1,2,3,4) - these do not feel good, in no instance do they feel satisfying to play, or feeling like the fit the note from a playing perspective! when you play this, you're essentially playing doubles with a longer note over something that's sounds like a triple and is supposed to be a triple, which is negative feedback to the player and causes them to miss and generally just isn't a good time

you can literally make all of those triplets and it'll be okay! don't be afraid to base this entire part of the map around triplets, i'm just you can find ways to map it so it doesn't feel stale, don't be afraid of the triplet spam 8-)

05:16:411 (1,2) - above

aaaaaaaaaaaaaand done!

fun map! 10/10 using as warmup regularly :D

hopefully you like my suggestions, sorry i had a lot to say! hopefully you take some stuff from this to improve the map :)

I believe you mean slider since there is no stream at all here. Other people have recommended sliders here too so I'll go for that!

  1. the pattern you kept with this map is using triples, lots of triples; but generally starting a distinct sound on the end of a slider is a big nono and a dangerous thing to do because it doesn’t capitalize the drums properly, for example 00:15:433 (4,5,6) with 4 as a hit circle instead of a “slider that keeps the pattern going with a slider end” works better rhythm wise, even though the current way you have might flow nice and prevent circle spam. there are exceptions ofc but it’s just something to keep in mind~ ^-^ it works better when you did this 00:15:922 (7,8,9,10,11) OR during this pattern 03:25:052 (1,2,3) it works because the slider body empowers the guitar strums
  2. hitsounds which you already know sooo~


[Extra Stage]
  1. 00:06:139 (1,1,2,1,1) - personally I think the abrupt change from sliders all in your face to single hit circles with 3 second time gaps to spontaneous action again isn’t fun to play or really a smooth transition, maybe instead having a break or making 00:06:139 (1,1) and 00:10:052 (2,1) into 2 sliders would work better? it’s not a must, just in my opinion ;w;
  2. 00:10:052 (2) - NC (ignore this if you changed something from the previous point I said)
  3. 00:17:552 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - it looks pretty but the NCs are unnecessary I think
  4. 01:06:139 (4,5,6) - any particular reason why these triples aren’t spaced out like every other one?

  6. 01:29:943 (6,7,8,9,1) - remove note 9 and reposition 6-8 as a triple to emphasize the sudden guitar pitch raise for the stream
  7. 01:49:019 (2,3) - space these closer together, they should be spaced similar to 01:48:041 (7,8) - as they are the same time interval apart from each other and could be easily misread
  8. 02:00:269 (4,5,6,7,8) - something like this would flow better so it doesn’t make an awkward transition into 02:00:758 (9,10,1)
  9. 02:00:595 (8) - this is more of a personal pet peeve thing, but it would calm my OCD if you faced this slider opposite of the direction that the stream path is following like in 01:59:617 (8) and 02:00:106 (3) or something along those lines so it keeps structure
  10. 02:01:574 (1) - there’s kind of a really important guitar note that starts here and is not being highlighted, maybe adding a spinner here and starting hit circles again at 02:04:346 (1) will give people a break to catch their breath and gain back stamina after the stream section
  11. between 02:05:324 (6) and 02:09:563 (8) it sounds like you completely ignore the guitar and focus on keeping mapping pattern, fix the spacing so that it emphasizes these guitar but still keeps rhythm like in the previous section between 01:53:748 (1) and 02:04:182 (7) ← good c:
  12. 02:14:617 (2) - NC here instead of 02:14:291 (1,1) ← what is this ;_;
  13. 02:14:617 (2) - although stream sections are nice, the streams in this section don’t really keep a consistent rhythm to them, lower the section hitsounds down to 5% and you’ll see what I mean. Make sure to capitalize on the loud drum beats in the background of the song which are just filled with constant streams right now. you don’t ignore all of them but it feels awkward when only some are accounted for. hitsounds will help with this a lot too
    example: 02:16:003 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) there are like 5 loud drum beats in here that are being ignored while 02:14:617 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,1) accounts for all of them.
    it’s key to be creative!~

  30. 03:45:269 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - would strongly recommend taking advantage of the potential for slow, decently spaced jumps
  31. 03:52:280 (9,1) - space closer together cuz its a huge jump for a ¼ time gap with not much warning ;w; something like this feels nice
  32. 04:23:911 (2,3,4) - I think the spacing should be nerfed a bit, it’s not really during a time in the song where any particular instrument is being emphasized so the extremeness of the jumps isn’t necessary, especially considering they follow the same time spacing as 04:26:030 (7,8,1,2)
  33. 05:04:672 (5,6,7) - crtl+G
  34. 05:16:411 (1,2) - maybe would fit in better if it was a slider like 05:19:019 (1) so it kept a pattern, not necessarily necessary though (that sounds funny hehe)

  13. 02:14:617 (2) - although stream sections are nice, the streams in this section don’t really keep a consistent rhythm to them, lower the section hitsounds down to 5% and you’ll see what I mean. Make sure to capitalize on the loud drum beats in the background of the song which are just filled with constant streams right now. you don’t ignore all of them but it feels awkward when only some are accounted for. hitsounds will help with this a lot too
    example: 02:16:003 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) there are like 5 loud drum beats in here that are being ignored while 02:14:617 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,1) accounts for all of them.
    it’s key to be creative!~
    Leaving this for now until I have a better understanding of how to map it without breaking the stream
