gonna really try to get this one ranked. love this song.

ready for mods :D

if you want m4m just post so when you mod and what map you want me to mod, preferably mania or std and i cant play over 4 stars mania. any stars is fine on std. i am also aware of the lack of hitsounds i am working on custom hitsounds atm so if you could keep your mods based around non hitsound related problems that would be more helpfull until i get the hitsounds done. Thanks!

Ayyy, m4m fine? I'd request in your queue first, but I don't know if you accept m4m placeholders (which would probably be a good idea to add that) T.T
How do you even time something like this O.O

Column 1|2|3|4

General
- Ignore this if you did it like this intentionally, but Mania diffs are named like Easy -> EZ, Normal -> NM, Hard -> HD, Insane -> MX, Expert/Extra -> SC. Either way, Expert needs to be renamed to Insane to match the general naming spread of diffs.
- Increase HP of Expert to ~7.5? 7 is just too forgiving, especially because of the small bursts in this song.
- Increase HP of Hard to ~7 for same reason as above. Also, for the note to LN ratio, OD is probably too low. Raise it to ~7.3
- Same thing about OD above for Normal, raise it to 7. HP can also be raised to ~7 too, as that's pretty much the accepted minimum in Mania (with few exceptions to mainly LN songs).
- And for Easy, OD ~6.8 would work, and HP 7 is fine too.
- Disable Widescreen support and letterboxing on all diffs.

Easy
00:03:423 (3423|1) - Why not make this a 1/1 LN since the piano key is sustained?
00:17:619 (17619|3) - Today I'm being such a spread nazi, my apologies (I went modded backwards, so you'll see what I mean in a sec). Anyways, in Easy, I highly suggest against using jacks that aren't divisible by 2; what I mean is the space between 00:17:351 (17351|3,17619|3) is 3/4 of a beat, which isn't a snapping divisible by two, and will catch easy players off guard due to the inconsistent spacing. Think of it like STD. You use always use Distance Snap in easy so that players can relate time = distance. The same can be said about Mania in that jacks = easy spacing divisible by two (like 1/1 or 1/2 jacks). Anyways, so move to a different column is my suggestion.
01:18:956 (78956|3) - Turn into a 1/1 LN for the sustained piano.

Normal
00:17:530 (17530|1) - I get you're mapping the piano here, but the piano is much quieter than the drums, so I'd recommend moving this note up to 00:17:589 and 00:17:708 (17708|2) to 00:17:827 and remove 00:17:887 (17887|3) to represent the drums rather than the piano. These are 1/6 snaps btw, but double check me.
00:33:065 (33065|1,33422|0,33779|0,34136|2) - Why not jack these with 00:32:350 (32350|2,32707|1) since they're all the same pitch and bass? If you want, you can just jack the LNs and leave the notes alone, which I think would be the better solution. 1 am here, so my modding ability is pretty much dead.
00:36:636 (36636|1,36725|2,36815|3,36904|2) - If you're going to put a 1/4 roll in a normal difficulty, I think it would be easier as a {1234} roll because the mini one handed trill made by 00:36:725 (36725|2,36815|3,36904|2) is probably too much for normal.
00:59:136 (59136|2,59225|1,59315|2,59404|1) - I wouldn't introduce a 1/4 trill at the normal level. Players are still getting used to reading the notes and hand balance, plus trills are really only used in HD+ difficulties, with exception if the bpm is very slow.

Hard
Ok, so you mainly follow piano, nice. You should look into some keysounding, because I think it'd be pretty cool XD
00:27:350 - This {14}{23} chord trill is something you really only see in MX diffs or higher. It doesn't really belong in a HD since players are just beginning to get comfortable with streams and bursts. If you do need to keep this though, I would highly recommend changing this to a {12}{34} chord trill as that's the easiest to hit for beginners.
00:53:600 (53600|0,53957|0) - These are only kicks, so reduce them to doubles? The triples are snares, which are louder and more accented.
01:25:384 (85384|3,85384|2,85562|2,85562|3) - Since these are just, uhm, glass clink sounds? Anyways, that, reduce them to a single note jack since there's not as much accent on these.

Expert
00:01:281 (1281|0,1281|1) - Shouldn't this just be a single note since it's only one piano key, as opposed to 00:01:638 (1638|1,1638|3) which has a piano chord on it?
00:01:817 (1817|0) - This should be a double since there's a piano chord on it.
00:05:029 (5029|1) - I'd suggest making this note a double since it's the same snare as the previous note, but without the crash on it.
00:05:208 (5208|2,5208|3) - For this, I'd probably suggest reducing this to a single. While the crash is loud, it doesn't have the same weight a kick or snare does, if that makes sense. I mean like, snares and kicks have bases, in that when they're hit, they feel full and whatnot, but crashes are baseless, in that a crash alone doesn't really have anything to stand on.
00:05:386 (5386|1) - I think I know why you have this here, for the piano, but the piano is rather drowned out by the drum's entrance into this part of the song. Also, for consistency, since you mapped the drums in the first part of the measure, it's a good idea to keep mapping it until the end of the drum's line. This means adding a double at 00:05:565 and reducing 00:05:743 (5743|2,5743|3) to a single.
00:06:101 to 00:08:421 - I think the layering is a little confusing here. You use doubles to represent piano, snares, and kicks. In mania, consistency is basically mapping the same sound the same way. For example, if you map a kick using a single note, all your kicks should be represented with a single note (with few exceptions), and since snares tend to be more heavily accented, they're represented with doubles/triples depending on how dense the layering is. My suggestion here is to map all the piano as single notes since they aren't as heavily accented as the drums, notes like 00:07:707 (7707|3,7707|1,7885|2,7885|0) and make snares double/triple or whatever.
00:16:098 (16098|1) - Make this a double since all other piano notes are doubles like 00:15:562 (15562|2,15562|1,15741|3,15741|0,15919|2,15919|0)
00:16:994 (16994|0,17083|1) - Remove these, these are both ghost notes.
00:18:244 (18244|0,18244|3,18244|1) - Move this to 00:18:423 where the snare is? Right here's only a hat or something.
00:32:172 - Add a single note here for the drum?
00:34:315 - ^^
00:36:636 - This burst should actually end at 00:37:350 since that's where the piano goes onto some weird rhythm. It's also more intuitive to play since some players divide what they read into beats, and leaving this incomplete would feel kind of, confusing I guess?
00:40:922 to 00:41:279 - Add a 1/4 burst for the piano?
01:01:636 to 01:02:350 - The notes here are actually in 1/3 snap. Therefore, 01:01:725 (61725|1) to 01:01:755 and 01:01:904 (61904|2) to 01:01:874 and 01:02:083 (62083|2) to 01:02:112 and finally, 01:02:261 (62261|0) to 01:02:231
01:06:904 - Add a note here for the hihat?
01:25:384 (85384|1,85384|2,85384|3,85562|3,85562|1,85562|2) - Reduce to doubles since they're not as heavily accented?
01:25:919 and 01:26:098 - I'd recommend adding a single note here for the piano to get a kind of hooked note feel.

It's a marathon, but barely over 5 minutes, is that all right?

General
- Ignore this if you did it like this intentionally, but Mania diffs are named like Easy -> EZ, Normal -> NM, Hard -> HD, Insane -> MX, Expert/Extra -> SC. Either way, Expert needs to be renamed to Insane to match the general naming spread of diffs. sure
- Increase HP of Expert to ~7.5? 7 is just too forgiving, especially because of the small bursts in this song.sure
- Increase HP of Hard to ~7 for same reason as above. Also, for the note to LN ratio, OD is probably too low. Raise it to ~7.3sure
- Same thing about OD above for Normal, raise it to 7. HP can also be raised to ~7 too, as that's pretty much the accepted minimum in Mania (with few exceptions to mainly LN songs).s u r e
- And for Easy, OD ~6.8 would work, and HP 7 is fine too.s u r e
- Disable Widescreen support and letterboxing on all diffs.
lag

Easy
00:03:423 (3423|1) - Why not make this a 1/1 LN since the piano key is sustained?fixed
Anyways, so move to a different column is my suggestion.i just deleted the note $wag
01:18:956 (78956|3) - Turn into a 1/1 LN for the sustained piano.fixed

These are 1/6 snaps btw, but double check me. the 1/6 is why i didn't want include it in the NM diff.
00:33:065 (33065|1,33422|0,33779|0,34136|2) - Why not jack these with 00:32:350 (32350|2,32707|1) since they're all the same pitch and bass? If you want, you can just jack the LNs and leave the notes alone, which I think would be the better solution. 1 am here, so my modding ability is pretty much dead.fixed
00:36:636 (36636|1,36725|2,36815|3,36904|2) - If you're going to put a 1/4 roll in a normal difficulty, I think it would be easier as a {1234} roll because the mini one handed trill made by 00:36:725 (36725|2,36815|3,36904|2) is probably too much for normal. agreed
00:59:136 (59136|2,59225|1,59315|2,59404|1) - I wouldn't introduce a 1/4 trill at the normal level. Players are still getting used to reading the notes and hand balance, plus trills are really only used in HD+ difficulties, with exception if the bpm is very slow.i think its fine when not isolated to one hand.

If you do need to keep this though, I would highly recommend changing this to a {12}{34} chord trill as that's the easiest to hit for beginners.keeping for now
00:53:600 (53600|0,53957|0) - These are only kicks, so reduce them to doubles? The triples are snares, which are louder and more accented.fixed
01:25:384 (85384|3,85384|2,85562|2,85562|3) - Since these are just, uhm, glass clink sounds? Anyways, that, reduce them to a single note jack since there's not as much accent on these.nah im keepin this

Expert
00:01:281 (1281|0,1281|1) - Shouldn't this just be a single note since it's only one piano key, as opposed to 00:01:638 (1638|1,1638|3) which has a piano chord on it?u rite
00:01:817 (1817|0) - This should be a double since there's a piano chord on it.fixed
00:05:029 (5029|1) - I'd suggest making this note a double since it's the same snare as the previous note, but without the crash on it.nope
00:05:208 (5208|2,5208|3) - For this, I'd probably suggest reducing this to a single. While the crash is loud, it doesn't have the same weight a kick or snare does, if that makes sense. I mean like, snares and kicks have bases, in that when they're hit, they feel full and whatnot, but crashes are baseless, in that a crash alone doesn't really have anything to stand on.fixed
This means adding a double at 00:05:565 and reducing 00:05:743 (5743|2,5743|3) to a single.no thanks i think it doesnt break flow, and the only note i specifically followed the drums is the 3 note chord and that was because it shared a note with the piano.
My suggestion here is to map all the piano as single notes since they aren't as heavily accented as the drums, notes like 00:07:707 i get what you mean, but the inconsistancy of this song with the constant change in time signature and seemingly uncordinated overlap of instraments leads me to beleive that in the hardest diff this is acceptable. i will leave for now unless complained about later.(7707|3,7707|1,7885|2,7885|0) and make snares double/triple or whatever.
00:16:098 (16098|1) - Make this a double since all other piano notes are doubles like 00:15:562 (15562|2,15562|1,15741|3,15741|0,15919|2,15919|0) fixed
00:16:994 (16994|0,17083|1) - Remove these, these are both ghost notes.lol im retarded
00:18:244 (18244|0,18244|3,18244|1) - Move this to 00:18:423 where the snare is? Right here's only a hat or something.fixed thx
00:32:172 - Add a single note here for the drum?yup
00:34:315 - ^^yup
00:36:636 - This burst should actually end at 00:37:350 since that's where the piano goes onto some weird rhythm. It's also more intuitive to play since some players divide what they read into beats, and leaving this incomplete would feel kind of, confusing I guess?following the xylophone here but your right it plays weird fixed
00:40:922 to 00:41:279 - Add a 1/4 burst for the piano?drowned out kinda by vocals and i dont think it would play well. leaving.
01:01:636 to 01:02:350 - The notes here are actually in 1/3 snap. Therefore, 01:01:725 (61725|1) to 01:01:755 and 01:01:904 (61904|2) to 01:01:874 and 01:02:083 (62083|2) to 01:02:112 and finally, 01:02:261 (62261|0) to 01:02:231how did i miss that lmao thx
01:06:904 - Add a note here for the hihat?nah its too quiet.
01:25:384 (85384|1,85384|2,85384|3,85562|3,85562|1,85562|2) - Reduce to doubles since they're not as heavily accented?i guess =w=
01:25:919 and 01:26:098 - I'd recommend adding a single note here for the piano to get a kind of hooked note feel.its cool but idk how it plays with the sv change. i will think about it

It's a marathon, but barely over 5 minutes, is that all right?

Here's a mod. One difficulty, though

0 1 2 3

NM

00:07:528 (7528|0,7707|1,7885|0,8064|1) - {0,1,0,1} is difficult to play because the notes are all in one hand. Also, the pitches are not the same for all the notes so don't make a trill. Change the pattern to {a,b,c,d} or {a,b,c,a}, as the pitches at 00:07:528 - and 00:08:064 - are the same

00:08:064 (8064|1,8064|2) - change this to a single. There's a drum there but I find it out of place, considering that you didn't map it at 00:05:565 - and especially at 00:06:993 -

00:13:777 (13777|0) - move the end of the slider to 00:14:134 -. Yes, you might be following the vocals with that LN but I'd just stick to the piano - since it is what you were mapping in this section. Also, the LN would be tricky to play - people are not expecting the end of a slider to end there and the LN/SN are in the same hand
00:14:669 (14669|3) - ^

Dropping the piano part between 00:16:277 - and 00:17:172 - feels weird to me. I'd put it back in, even if you have to delete 00:16:277 (16277|0,16280|3,16815|1,16815|2) -

00:25:922 - add a note (piano)

00:26:993 (26993|1,27350|1) - these shouldn't be in the same row. I'd move the LN to {0}

Between 00:28:065 - I'd definitely continue following the piano part. The vocals are less interesting and you've already followed the piano up until this point. I'll give the points when they appear

00:28:065 (28065|3,28422|2,28779|3,29136|2) - these shouldn't be in the same columns, their pitches aren't the same

00:30:922 - add a note (piano). This means that the LN needs to be changed as well

00:31:279 (31279|2,31636|2) - remove the jack, the pitches aren't the same

00:32:350 (32350|2,32707|1,33065|1,33422|2) - again, these shouldn't be in the same column. They can have the same pattern, like {3,2,1,0} or {3,2,0,1}

If you decided to follow the vocals previously, 00:34:136 (34136|0) - is a ghost

00:34:850 - add note (piano). This should be an LN as there are multiple sounds
00:35:208 - add note (piano)

00:36:993 - add a note (piano)

00:37:618 (37618|2) - belongs at 00:37:707 - because the piano sounds there
00:38:332 (38332|2) - belongs at 00:38:422 -, same reason

00:38:600 (38600|3) - this is a ghost
00:39:047 (39047|3) - ^

00:38:957 - add a note (piano)
00:39:136 - ^

00:39:761 (39761|0) - another ghost

00:39:672 - add a note (piano)
00:39:850 - ^

00:40:475 (40475|2) - ghost note

00:40:565 - add a double; piano and crash

00:40:743 - ghost

Keep 00:40:922 (40922|0,41100|1) - consistent with 00:36:636 (36636|0,36725|1,36815|2,36904|3) -, as have the same piano part

00:48:690 (48690|2) - ghost

Add notes to 00:48:601 - and 00:48:780 - for the piano. Also, the effect of the LN and the jack are kinda of ruined if the previous rhythm don't come back at the start of the next bar

Continue mapping the piano between 00:52:529 - and 00:54:315 - feels weird, like before. The piano part hasn't stopped playing notes so dropping the it and mapping the drums/kicks feels really off

00:54:850 (54850|0,55207|0) - remove the jack, there's no point in having it there

I would add a note to 00:57:083 - and 00:57:350 - then remove 00:56:993 (56993|3) - and 00:57:172 (57172|2) -. 00:57:083 - and 00:57:350 - have piano sounds, so adding notes there is expected. 00:56:993 (56993|3) - has a drum sound but will feel weird to play with the different rhythm of the piano here and I don't know what 00:57:172 (57172|2) - is mapping

00:59:850 (59850|1,60386|1) - move these to different columns, as they have no reason to be in the same

01:00:565 (60565|2) - if you're mapping the vocals, it ends earlier than how you've mapped it

01:02:350 (62350|0,62707|0,63064|0) - move these to different columns again

01:03:421 (63421|1,63421|2) - the crash isn't a sustained sound, I'd change a LN into an SN

01:07:172 - add a note (piano). Also change 01:06:993 (66993|3) - into a SN

01:15:920 (75920|2,76099|3,76277|2,76456|3,76813|2) - {2,3,2,3,2}? The pitches aren't the same so don't keep this awkward pattern

01:17:884 (77884|0,78242|0) - different pitches, different columns
01:21:456 (81456|0,81813|0) - ^

01:21:991 - add a note (piano)

01:22:349 (82349|3) - this is a drum, not a piano. Change to an SN
01:22:527 - add a note (piano)
01:24:312 - ^

01:25:384 (85384|3,85562|3) - I guess the weird sound effect could be mapped in the same column but the piano pitches are different. If you want to keep them in the same column, make the notes before and after, in this case 01:25:205 (85205|1) - and 01:25:741 (85741|2) -, both go in a different hand otherwise it's not effective - switching hands makes it feel better, if you ask me. Also make sure that 01:25:205 (85205|1,85741|2) - don't go in the same column

01:26:009 - don't drop the piano right before it finishes. Add a note here. Keep this note in the opposite hand to 01:26:009 (86009|1) - if you're keeping it, to show that they are not mapping the same instruments
01:26:098 - ^

00:07:528 (7528|0,7707|1,7885|0,8064|1) - {0,1,0,1} is difficult to play because the notes are all in one hand. Also, the pitches are not the same for all the notes so don't make a trill. Change the pattern to {a,b,c,d} or {a,b,c,a}, as the pitches at 00:07:528 - and 00:08:064 - are the same fixed but pitches are not the same.

00:48:690 (48690|2) - ghostthere is a kick here from drum.

The piano part hasn't stopped playing notes so dropping the it and mapping the drums/kicks feels really offi dont agree, drums and the vocals are louder than the piano in most of this song. and if i mapped piano the entire time it would be hardly audible. even at 25% its hard to hear sometimes...

00:54:850 (54850|0,55207|0) - remove the jack, there's no point in having it therefull measure of break this doesnt even count as a jack imo.

00:59:850 (59850|1,60386|1) - move these to different columns, as they have no reason to be in the samethe reason is the number of rows away it is from the next note. it doesnt have as high of a pitch change so a smaller jump would be more fitting here

01:00:565 (60565|2) - if you're mapping the vocals, it ends earlier than how you've mapped itfixed

01:02:350 (62350|0,62707|0,63064|0) - move these to different columns againfixed

01:03:421 (63421|1,63421|2) - the crash isn't a sustained sound, I'd change a LN into an SNfixed

01:07:172 - add a note (piano). Also change 01:06:993 (66993|3) - into a SNnah i think the hold follows the piano better, and i dont want to add the note for difficulty spread purposes

01:15:920 (75920|2,76099|3,76277|2,76456|3,76813|2) - {2,3,2,3,2}? The pitches aren't the same so don't keep this awkward patternfixed

01:17:884 (77884|0,78242|0) - different pitches, different columnsfixed

01:26:098 - ^
keeping the rest

EZ
00:28:779 - drum beat for contrast so double
00:30:208 - likewise
00:31:636 - likewise
00:33:065 - likewise
00:34:315 - would like a double here
00:35:208 - this part is very bland and empty. click me for suggestion!
00:45:923 - chorus + kiai = double here
00:58:065 (58065|3,58243|3) - if this is EZ, better not have such a stack here
01:15:206 (75206|2) - can be a hold to emphasize ending of portion
this difficulty is a little messy as sometimes you map to the piano and then the drums. look through and see which instrument you really want to map and stick with it.

NM
00:22:173 (22173|1,22530|1,22886|1,23243|1,23600|1,23958|1,24315|1) - eh...switch these notes around
00:52:707 (52707|0,52707|1,53065|2,53065|1,53422|2,53422|3,53600|0,53600|1,53957|1,53957|0,54136|3,54136|2) - this part is going to question me why add doubles here and not the same for the others? will close one eye on this one.
again, if you wanna map this, either add all instruments at once or stick with one, not switch between instruments.

HD
00:24:940 (24940|0,25118|0) - ghost notes to me, slowed to 25% and can't hear a thing there
00:31:636 - missing note to complete double
00:33:065 - again here

MX
00:55:207 (55207|3,55565|1,55922|3,56279|2) - you are seriously mapping to vocals????? why suddenly here out of the whole song?
01:21:099 - why a triple here? doesn't sound any louder than the other doubles

I really don't know if this is a good song to map because everywhere sounds off, but ok, take risks and chances. Good luck :) :)

accepted all, however i dont agree that im not allowed to switch instruments as long as it flows well. and i think it does. also the piano gets drowned out by the vocals and drums a lot of times and i feel it is better to map what is most emphasized in that section. the song has a lot of jazzy roots where the instruments "fight" for the spotlight, and i feel like that is reflected in the mapset.
