I heard in korea about disappearing DirectX
is it ture?

That sentence made little sense but... osu! is going OpenGL-only moving forward, yes. Assuming that's what you were asking.

..? In test mode already delete DirectX
When this patch apply?

And Opengl is not good to my computer. i guess opengl is still not compatible in osu.

I just worried about deleting DirectX

peppy is working to ensure that OpenGL will work just as good, if not better, on as many computers as possible. Try switching to the cutting-edge build to see if it runs fine for you. If not, you're best off posting about it in order to get issues addressed.

i'm sorry my English skill is not good

Just I curious exactly when only use OpenGL

and I wish OpenGL get same performance like DirectX

and I still use Windows Xp . I heard Osu! next is coming when November or December in this year

Do I need to change OS For Playing Osu?
Bauxe
DirectX will be removed when peppy is sure that everyone (or, close to everyone I suppose) can play osu! on OpenGL without issues. There is no set timeframe.

You shouldn't need to change OS for playing osu! no.

umm I ask last one thing

can you tell me about Recommended Specifications(?) for playing osu

CPU , graphic , RAM

//////

My computer Spec
CPU : T5550 (2 CPUs) 1.83Ghz
Graphic : Geforce 8400GS
RAM : 2GB

osu! will run on any PC/laptop as long it have a graphic card.
With your specs, you should be able to get 200-300 fps on 1024*600 resolution

???
Strange..

1024*768 window mode
Now I get Frame 55~60;; (60fps mode)
if i use unlimited I get Frame 30~130 ;; unstable playing osu

I want to get Frame 120 ~ 240

Your computer specifications are really low even by 2010's standards, but getting 30 ~ 130 fps is just weird

As long as Osu! requirements stays at DirectX 9.0c, OpenGL 2.0 and .net microsoft framework 4, you can keep using your computer to play
(No there is no way to run .net microsoft framework 4.5 on XP unfortunately)

OpenGL is actually the best way to allows all OS to run, DirectX 10 probably tore windows XP apart back in 2011
(OpenGL has a lot of benefits over directX but I just have no idea why)

comparing gpu with intel GMA

Intel GMA gives you about 330~170 depending whether you play with the video, s/b on or off (sometimes your fps may take a beating just because of the storyboard) (this is for those with slower processor such as i3-330M)

comparing cpu with an i3-330M

I am assuming your computer is a laptop for that kind of performance, you can try download all of this and see if it is any smoother

Get on with the times. Windows XP support has already ended: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... pport-help
Anyways, try following Karuta's advice for now and see if that helps.

I'm getting 160 fps (constant, sometimes dropping to 140) on 1024x768 on my notebook (win7):
- T7500
-> GMA X3100 (not a dedicated gpu)
- 4 GB DDR2

-> You may want to check your background processes.

I recieve fps drops in the song-selection menu.

Also, don't worry about the opengl-only future. A quick monitoring reveals the non-existence of any optimization regarding the renderer.

thank you

Can I ask something?

net framework 4.0's performance is not good to play osu?

4.5 is better?

I know about inside Graghic (In CPU)

is it better Nvidia's Graghic?

4.5 is better?
.net framework 4 is good enough to play osu!, I am just trying to point out that windows XP does not support .net framework 4.5 and later

Installing .net framework 4.5 does not improve my performance in osu! so far

I know about inside Graghic (In CPU)

is it better Nvidia's Graghic?
I think you meant intel graphics, for your computer you should stick to 8400GS

Intel graphics (integrated graphics) are usually slower than Nvidia/Radeon or any other proper graphic cards, although recent models (from HD 2000 onwards) tend to prove otherwise

I am not sure what are the recent intel graphics and graphic cards on laptop are but here is an example
(it may be wrong since the performance of intel graphics is dependent on the CPU)

Turn to cutting edge and see how it works in your pc (I use an old Intel HD Graphics, integrated, and works perfect for me)

I just get 100-120 FPS (Or even more, I've a lot of time not paly Osu! just Opsu!)on my Intel Celeron 2.19 GHz Single Core, 3 GB RAM and a chipset Intel Mobile Express 4 with 64 MB dedicated video running on Windows 7 :V :o

Maybe your graphics driver is outdated or your OS isn't optimized have a lot of programs in background. Or try disable everything on you Detail Settings.
