- 00:17:407 (1,2) - Has pretty bad flow IMO, Ctrl G 1 to fix it (will also help in improving ^^) Fixed.
- 00:20:836 (1,2,3,4,5) - Again, use the copy + 72 degrees, or use Polygonal Circles Done.
- 00:30:693 (4) - NC for an SV change Done. (Also leave next note NC or remove? I've left it NC for now.)
- 00:33:693 (4,5) - Red noded sliders don't fit here, make them grey noded Done.
- 00:40:550 (1) - What's the point of this NC? Remove it, and NC 00:41:836 (2) - instead Done.
- 01:08:836 (1) - This slider is very messed up, please make it look better Done.
- 01:13:550 (4) - NC fo SV change Done. (Same as above^)
- 01:29:407 (1) - So curvy ;w; Made less curvy.
- There are much more issues with this, but then I'll be really nitpicky and I don't really like doing it. Make sure all "wrong stars-triangles" and such are fixed, incorrect stacks are gone etc. Will do my best to fix it.
First of all, the NC's here seems incredibly random, please redo them. One every big white tick is best, unless you're doing it for readability[color=transparent]I don't mod the other song, as it's quite much, and the same as in the other parts applies to there as well. Please properly look
- 03:11:905 (1,1,1) - Remove NC I think these are better for reading, looks really weird with followpoints there.
- 03:13:238 (2) - NC, big white tick Done.
- 03:14:127 (4,5,1,2,3,4) - This part plays really bad, due to the sliders. Please, make them less curvy Made less curvy.
- 03:18:571 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,1,2,1,2,1,2,3) - Again, all those NCs, are they neccessary? The followpoints make this pattern look cluttered and hard to read imo, plays much better without them, idk though.
- 03:32:349 (1,2,3,1) - Improve looking (Polygonal circles or rotate 90) Rotated 90.
- 03:52:349 (1,2,3) - Low distance here feels really weird, as it's still quite powerful make them approx 1.5 ds Done.
- 03:53:016 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - I miss the claps here Added clap to third note of second triple but anymore sounds excessive imo. (Lust's map also does this)
- 04:38:349 (6,1) - Incorrect stack Fixed.
- 04:58:127 (1,2,3,4,5) - Improve looking (rotate 72) Done.
- 05:07:683 (4,1) - Blanket Done.
- 05:13:238 (1,2) - ^^ Done.
- 05:20:349 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - Improve looking (Rotate 60) Done.
- 05:44:349 (1,5) - Stack Done.
- 05:44:349 (1,3) - Blanket Done.
- 05:50:571 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - The NCs here are too much and make little to no sense Followpoints, reading etc.
- 06:01:238 (5,1,1,1) - Please snap them correctly Done.
- 06:03:238 (2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,1,2,3) - And more weird NC Same as above. If followpoints not looking good / making it harder to read isn't a good reason, someone tell me, and I'll just use more regular NC as instructed.

As you can see, this map needs a lot of work IMO
However, it's mainly just small issues, or other things, the flow itself is quite decnet

I wont point out everything. I'll give general guidelines and it will be your job to go through the diff and figure out what you want to change or not. Keep in mind I don't want do force you into anything, these are just suggestions.
General stuff:
I'm shit at explaining things so i'll link this p/2908871 read popner's post, it WILL be helpful. There is a lot of times where aesthetics is not consistent in your diff. I'll give a few examples :
-00:09:693 (3,1) - These two sliders are both blanketing 00:10:122 (4) - yet both of them have a different angle and a different sacing with 4. Fixed.
-00:24:693 (2,3) - another example where 2 and 3 don't have the same curve even though 3 suggests that it completes the shape. Fixed I think, I tried ctrl+j'ing 2 and putting it in 3's place and making it longer to replace it to try and copy shape, but it might still be off, someone with better eyes might pick this up later, but I think it's probably good now.
-01:30:265 (4,1) - Same stuff happenning here Same as above
-03:14:572 (4,1) - 06:41:889 (1) - etc etc First one fixed and second one changed as part of previous mod
also I'd avoid to curve things too much in general because unless your pattern is built around these curves the final result usually doesnt look great. A few examples would be 00:36:265 (1) - 01:10:550 (1) - . I know this is really subjective but it's worth pointing out imo. Both changed as part of previous mod.
the second thing where your map feels weird sometimes is spacing. when you make jumps it should be used to create emphasis on either strong breats or strong sounds in the song. here again I'll only give a few examples :
- 00:26:836 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) - in this jump pattern for example, everything has the same spacing, which is fine, but it would make way more sense to actually emphasise the big kick sounds 00:27:693 (5,6,7,8,10,11,12) - with a larger jump than the rest dont you think? Reduced spacing between 1,2,3,4
-00:43:122 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - this is also a great example. here 00:43:122 (1,2,3,4) - have the exact same effect than 00:42:265 (2,3,4) - yet their sacing is probably twice as big. these two on the other hand 00:44:193 (6,7) - have a clap hitsound on them that is not emphasised at all Changed as part of previous mod.
-01:25:979 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - a bit less obvious maybe. here you can clearly hear that the background noise getting louder yet your spacing is constant and doesn't seem to follow that. also same as before 01:27:050 (6,7) - have a clap sound that isn't emphasized Reduced earlier circles spacing again and 6 and 7 were changed as part of last mod.
Ofc this doesn't only apply to jump patterns.
Mod stuff :
00:15:693 (1,2) - when the angle is so tiny it's probably better to make it so that the movement "completes the curve" or goes inwards of the slider(if that makes sense) Changed this part before this.
00:17:836 (2,3) - same here, flow isn't great, fixing this would also making it look better imo Improved flow.
00:19:979 (3,4,5,6) - your square seems off use the "insert notes in a circle" tool in the editor Improved as part of last mod.
00:45:479 (2,3,4,1) - I know this is supposed to be an insane but yea this is not intuitive at all. The end of the slider just points at a random direction ^
00:56:193 (1) - weird nc. when ncing you should do it on strong beats or downbeats. ^
01:07:550 (3) - weird slider. your pattern suggests a triangle shape but the slider doesn't point exactly at 01:07:336 (2) - so the shape is kinda ruined
02:18:050 (4,1) - covering up the end of a reversing slider is pretty meh ^
03:18:571 (1,2,1,2,1,2) - the angle isn't consistent here Used some copy paste magic to fix this.
03:19:905 (1) - remove the nc. also every white beat was emhasised by a jump here 03:18:571 (1,2,1,2,1,2) - so why is this so close now? NC removed but I think it's fine for the emphasis to stay the same, the piano note goes lower and feinter for those notes while before it was to emphasize the drum crash

03:21:683 (3,1) - weird flow same issue as 00:15:693 (1,2) - Fixed as part of previous mod.
03:38:127 (1,2,3) - 04:04:571 (2,1,2) - here too. this seems to happen alot so again I'll let you figure out this kind of stuff ^

04:55:127 (3) - You should delete this. If I was only mapping to the drums in this section as usual, then I would also delete 5, I think it's fine like this and adds some variation compared to the previous parts.

Ok, pp <--- that word right there, completely irrelevant in mapping. Mappers don't map to cater to pp values, Tom94 balances pp around maps. If this map inexplicably gave 10000pp, that would be Tom94's problem and fault, and responsibility to fix, not mine. Same with the star count. The spacing does fit the music, in fact, it's the same spacing as Best FriendS by no dap. It's ok for marathons to have harder songs in the end as opposed to the start, just look at Senya Marathon. Tom94 already said he will be nerfing difficulty spike effects, and that will likely be nerfing this.ExCellRaD wrote:

That's another thing, mapping generally doesn't cater to mods, that's why there are maps that are impossible with HR unless you spin like incognito, even relatively new maps. That said, I'm pretty sure AR8.8 is minimum for this map, even in the earlier two songs it's not too fast because there are a lot of stacks in patterns. AR8.8 is definitely minimum for the Best FriendS portion, maybe even a little low for it. Sure, AR10.2 is too fast to read for most people, but a lot of DT maps are 10.3, if the player can read 10.3, then it's not too fast at all, and if they can't read 10.3, then this map is likely too hard for them anyway (I personally had no trouble passing this, and I can't read higher than AR10). No dap's Best FriendS is actually AR9, so this is slightly lower than that.ExCellRaD wrote:

03:46:127 - There should be a red timing section here, to reset the measure and properly align the downbeats. You might want to also go through and readdress your NC job after this; it seems like a lot of NCs were placed with the downbeats in mind, though since your downbeats are wrong your whole NC job seems wrong. Wow I thought something seemed off with the NCs, wouldn't have thought to add a timing point, added and fixed NCs. #AmateurMapperMistakes
There are some pretty major tonality issues in both the Koigokoro and Daidai sections:
01:39:693 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - These jumps seem overdone for the map as is. Compared to 00:56:836 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - , they are much more intense, but these parts of the music are the same in tone. Same for 01:53:407 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - , etc. If you are going to use jumps this large, you should make the first kiai consistent with this. This is unrankable otherwise, QAT doesn't like difficulty spikes. I toned down the big jump part.
And as for the Daidai part, well...
03:32:794 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - This part of the song is slow, slower than the entirety of Koigokoro, but these jumps are as large as Koigokoro's kiai. I realize Daidai's BPM is lower, so jumps need to be larger to be considered as jumps. But this just seems really overdone, as do all similar slow parts of Daidai. Hmm it might be a little big but I do think it's fine for now, that part is to emphasize the piano and it's smaller spacing than the kiai and faster parts.
The kiai section has a key change. Usually this means everything will be made more intense compared to previous verses. I'm not sure if you took this into consideration, maybe I'm just imagining things, but it looks to me like the jumps in the kiai are the same as the jumps in the previous chorus. You may want to consider switching things around so the jumps in the kiai are larger than the rest of the Daidai section. The kiai section does already have larger, more intense jumps than the rest of the song.
Oh, and I guess this is a good place to point out that you should add some combo colours :V I'm not super experienced with combo colours D: who wants to suggest some? I don't even know how to add them.

I increased SV from 0.6 to 0.75 and kept it in the same initial position so it touches the next slider and is less likely to cause a sliderbreak though.
- 04:30:571 - this is where the climax of the song starts, and there's a noticeable crescendo in the music. The map doesn't really reflect this change right now. Consider bumping slider velocity up slightly to add emphasis on this part of the song. The spacing and jumps already increases a lot in comparison, I think the SV should be fine.
