Can I also ask for "koigenome" to be put in tags? It's similar to Koigonome except it uses Genome from Daidai, often find myself searching for this.

That was actually an idea for one of the names, but I decided koigonome sounded and looked better. Added to tags.

Several maps have been disqualified because of errors in the title, I mean, you kinda made up the name mixing the 3 songs.
Not that I'm against the idea, just unsure if it can actually get ranked because of the name.

I'd assume so, since I'm the creator of the mix / compilation I guess I get to name it? Idk, what else would it be called anyway? You've compiled maps that are known for their AR8 difficulties, and marathons generally tone the AR down even further, but you've made it much higher, both throwing off people who know the AR8 difficulties and making the marathon harder than it should be. I highly suggest at least changing to AR8.2.

Your flow is very off in almost I would say the majority of the map. I'd suggest a remap but since the song is so long perhaps only map sections with bad flow. You can find out if it's bad flow simply by following the beatmap in edit mode with your cursor, and when something feels off, fix it.

Most of the map is very unclean, as in, overlaps and missed stacking opportunities, ontop of lack of shapes for the most part, results in having this 'unclean' feel. I suggest you go over your map and fix overlaps, and generally try to stack more, and try to make some simple shapes, e.g a square, or triangle. These are simple and easy to make with almost any combination of sliders and hitcircles, and really should be utilized you improve your map's overall quality, and overall, clean it up.

[Marathon]
00:00:265 (1,2) - Make these the same slider.
00:01:122 (3) - Avoid overlap here.
00:01:336 (4) - Stack on the sliderend of 00:01:336 (4,1).
00:02:836 (3) - Try Ctrl+G, ctrl+left arrow, then stack on the start of 00:01:979 (1). If you don't want to do this, at least fix overlap here.
Now for a pattern change. Move 00:03:479 (5) - to X=336 Y=256. Make 00:03:693 (6) - look like this. Then copy 00:03:693 (6) - in place of 00:04:122 (7), ctrl+right arrow twice, then stack on 00:03:479 (5) - then stack 00:04:550 (8) - on the sliderend of 00:03:693 (6).
00:05:407 (1,2) - Here your flow is not very good, you have the cursor moving fast from (1) to (2), as it is a 1.5x distance snap jump, larger than the usual spacing, making it so the cursor gains speed, only to stop in it's tracks upon reaching (2) and forced to move upwards in a very uncomfortable way.
00:30:693 (4) - Not a very nice looking slider shape at all. I suggest using something more like this.
00:42:907 (5,3,7) - Stack these together. It makes no sense with your previous patterns to not have these stacked.
Another flow/pattern fix.
01:06:265 (3,4) - Ctrl+G.
01:06:693 (5) - Ctrl+G.
01:07:122 (1,2) - Ctrl+G.

I just went through a portion of the Koigokoro section here, if you have any questions or need advice don't hesitate to send me a message either in-game or on the forums.

00:01:979 (1,3) - If you do decide to keep 4 the way it is, you may want to consider curving 1 more so that the end is on top of 4, and 3 overlapping with 1 doesn't look very nice in my opinion. By the way, 1 curves awkwardly when moved, so you might want to remove the anchor and place it again
00:03:693 (6,7,8) - Maybe consider stacking 8 on the end of 6
00:04:550 (8) - The shape doesn't look very nice, maybe consider changing it to something smoother?

I'll turn AR down to 8.5, I don't think that will make the earlier 2 songs too hard, but I'd say around 8.5 is the bare minimum for Best FriendS at least, although 8.8 would be more comfortable for it, I guess this will balance it out for the first 2 songs. AR increased back to 8.8, at popular demand by high ranking DT players, and by my judgement. 8.5 is too slow for Best FriendS, people thrown off by the high AR can get used to it easily (Provided they can read high AR), while not everyone can just read density as well as MillhioreF. 8.8 isn't even that fast for the 2 earlier maps anyway, my map has more density than the original AR8 maps due to patterns and stacks imo.

Wow, thanks heaps man, not only is this a mod to my map, this is like a whole lesson on mapping. I'll be honest, I had nearly no knowledge about mapping before I started this map, I didn't know what shit like blanket meant, or kd etc. etc. I've been learning the whole way. This more than doubled my progress. Good stuff! I'm basically gonna half remap a lot of it from here I think, now that I know a lot more about mapping structure, stacks, and flow and shit, very grateful for this mod.

Edit: Everything up to 4:20 (blaze it) has been remapped, feel free to mod anything until that point, but try not to mod anything after that point as I'm doing a semi-remap. Maybe even save your mods until I'm finished remapping so you can mod the whole thing :D


Edit 2: Remap complete! Stacks, blanketing, overall appearance and structure improved (or added in some cases) and overlaps removed, map looks a whole lot cleaner now imo. Resume modding as usual. I properly replied to this mod as well, no reply = fixed or added in remap.

  4. 06:44:282 (2,1) - flow is nice, but better move the head of 2 on the middle of 1, rather than half stack the 1's tail....

Since you said one song would be fine, I'll mod Best FriendS for a fair drain time trading. (also because this is the only song i have played another version, xD)

  1. Countdown is enabled. Suggest disable it? Oops, thought it disabled itself since I had the start of koigokoro mapped, so not enough time to count down. Disabled.
  2. 06:36:920 (3,1) - 1 should be moved away from 3. if not, 06:36:368 (2,3,1) - all have similar distance, which is too flat and makes players feel boring. Fixed / changed in remap
  3. 06:37:104 (1,3) - lol this overlap.... i am a overlap lover but this looks not that fine... Fixed / changed in remap
  4. 06:44:282 (2,1) - flow is nice, but better move the head of 2 on the middle of 1, rather than half stack the 1's tail.... Done
  5. 06:57:350 (3) - 06:58:454 (3) - choose one or both, ctrl+g. current one is a bit too.... juggling.... Fixed / changed in remap
  6. 07:13:178 (4,5,1) - this overlap looks not nice..... Fixed / changed in remap
  7. 07:29:006 - lol.... a kancolle image suddenly appeared.... my heart.... Idk what this means, but just to anyone else, I'll probably delete SB before bubble etc.
  8. 07:50:724 (4,5,1) - i hate the linear flow with long distance. like this. really hard to aim and not fun at all. Fixed / changed in remap
  9. 08:18:699 (4,5) - this overlap... Fixed, created a very minor, long overlap later on, but I don't think it's too bad as it's objects far away from each other.
  10. 08:19:988 (2,3,1,2,3) - linear flow with long distance... Fixed / changed in remap
  11. 09:34:712 (1) - i feel this nc is unnecessary Fixed.
  12. 09:56:245 (4) - really, not expected 2 reverse point here. Remove one please. Fixed, made 2 sliders instead.
  13. 10:44:466 (4,5,1) - linear flow with long distance.... Fixed / changed in remap
  14. Flow is fun, but please, try to reposition your stuff neat and tidy. There are many overlaps that are not that beautiful.

Thanks for mod! I'm not too sure about some of the stuff you said, both in whether I should apply, or the complete meaning behind it as I am new to mapping, if it is still unacceptable then hopefully someone with more experience could cover it with a better explanation or suggestion, but I think the fixes I applied are ok.

Edit: So after finding out you did this mod on an old version, I checked the stuff that was in old version I had backed up, and surely enough, they were all there. Light green= Fixed / changed in remap.

Ahhhhhh that makes sense, I did a pretty big remap last night, so a lot of the stuff would've been fixed, some of your stuff still applied though. I have a backup of .osu before I did remap, I'll try and check out if the links apply there and the problems exist / or are worse, but I guess that's why I didn't understand some of the mod, since it already changed >_>

Edit: Went through mod with old diff, and saw what was there and what wasn't. Edited reply to mod.

  1. 00:00:265 (1,2) - What are you aiming at with these sliders? They look rather ugly, please make them regular curves (Shapes such as these only work on longer sliders)
  2. 00:03:693 (1,2) - Personally, I hate such curved sliders, they look really cluttered and kinda bad
  3. 00:03:693 (1,3) - Why not stack these?
  4. 00:12:693 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - This looks pretty bad, but here are some tips to improve the looks of it. Place 2 notes, copy paste them, rotate (120 degrees for triangle, 90 for rectangle, 72 for star etc.) This way they'll get better
    You can also use the "Create Polygonal Circles"-tool (Ctrl shift D)
  5. 00:16:765 (4,1) - Bad stack
  6. 00:17:407 (1,2) - Has pretty bad flow IMO, Ctrl G 1 to fix it (will also help in improving ^^)
  7. 00:20:836 (1,2,3,4,5) - Again, use the copy + 72 degrees, or use Polygonal Circles
  8. 00:30:693 (4) - NC for an SV change
  9. 00:33:693 (4,5) - Red noded sliders don't fit here, make them grey noded
  10. 00:40:550 (1) - What's the point of this NC? Remove it, and NC 00:41:836 (2) - instead
  11. 01:08:836 (1) - This slider is very messed up, please make it look better
  12. 01:13:550 (4) - NC fo SV change

First of all, the NC's here seems incredibly random, please redo them. One every big white tick is best, unless you're doing it for readability

  3. 03:14:127 (4,5,1,2,3,4) - This part plays really bad, due to the sliders. Please, make them less curvy

  5. 03:32:349 (1,2,3,1) - Improve looking (Polygonal circles or rotate 90)

However, it's mainly just small issues, or other things, the flow itself is quite decnet

Thanks for the mod, really helped out! Will be working on the rest of it some other time (Haven't touched Best FriendS section yet), but I applied everything here, anyone else feel free to point out any other specific similar issues.
