really helpful mod, thank you very much squirrel !!Squirrel wrote:
hey there! mod from my q -
sorry for the delay, was kinda busy the past week. >-<
feel free to disagree with anything, I'm just making suggestions!
GeneralNormal
- nice set, but imo the Normal is too hard for the easiest diff because of it's rhythm, note density and some hard to read patterns. of course you could lower difficulty of Normal to make it more beginner-friendly diff, but then the gap between N/H is too high.. so I think this set would really profit from an Easy diff. up to you ofc! (maybe go look for a GD?) i think its okay
- seems like your osb file duplicated xD delete one, please ok (i have no idea about sb)
- hmh, I really disliked the copypasted parts in each diff, tbh. I don't mean to be offensive or anything, it's totally fine to copypaste stuff, but the whole Kiai.. meeh. Idk, it just feels so boring to play if it's just the same stuff over and over again. Of course you're free to leave everything as it is, but maybe you can try to alternate one pattern or the other.. just like rotate some sliders, let a pattern move in a different direction, make some straight sliders curved and vice versa.. o: theyre ok
Hard
- 00:00:637 (1,2) - pretty hard for the beginning of the diff. I know it matches the vocals nicely, but consider removing the reverse and using a 1/1 slider instead. okay changed
- 00:11:762 (1) - feels out of place, you mapped the 'oh's before, so why ignore them here? i'd suggest a 1/1 reverse slider and a cirlce on 00:12:954 - okay changed
- 00:34:014 (1,2,3) - looks nice to me, but is probably very confusing for beginner players. can you move (3) so it doesn't overlap with (1)? reworked
- 00:43:550 (1,2) - consider rotating them and moving them slightly further to the right. atm (1)'s end is very close to previous (3) which might lead players to hit the end. :c suggestion: http://puu.sh/kj1Aa.jpg reworked
- 00:50:703 (3) - feels off to end the slider on the downbeat. 3 circles on the white ticks would work nice, too, imo. i think its fine
- 01:04:213 (1) - hmmh, I kinda like this, but I miss the emphasis on "I be-(lieve)". it's ust so strong and should be mapped. consider shortening the slider and adding circles on 01:05:007 - and 01:05:405 - okay changed
also, this slightly overlaps with 01:06:398 (2) - (it's visible while playing, too), so if you don't change it, please try to avoid the overlap! reworked- 01:17:524 (2,3) - too confusing, especially without an Easy diff. :c it looks nice and plays well if players can read this, but beginner players just can't, sadly. >-< please ctrl+g (3) and move it to match DS. and don't forget to adjust 01:18:517 (1) - if you change (3) reworked
- 01:28:054 (1) - nitpicking here: move the first red anchor to to 235|336 ahh, reworked ds before looking at this, not going to get to use this
the second to 281|312
the third to 332|320
and the end to 373|295
for symmetry :b- 01:50:306 (1,2,3) - mentioned this before, try to avoid the overlap of (1) and (3), please reworked
- 02:21:100 (2,3) - same as 01:17:524 (2,3) - reworked
- 02:31:630 (1) - if you changed the other slider, use a copypasta version here? X_X
- 02:47:524 (1,2,3) - rhythm feels off, because of the gap between (1,2) and the sliderend on the downbeat. how about this instead: i like it how it is
it's very simplified, but still matches the rhythm well, imo- 02:53:484 (3) - move this a little further down to avoid the overlap with (1) reworked
- 02:54:279 (2,3) - not mapping the white tick in-between feels wird, because there's a beat and very very strong vocals. consider adding a circle i think it is ok as it is
- 03:02:623 (1) - downbeat should be clickable, imo. it's clearly the loudest and most dominant sound, so three circles might be a nice alternative to the reverse slider i think its okay
the following downbeats aren't clickable, as well. so I'd suggest this rhythm instead - http://puu.sh/kj2R6.jpg- 03:27:656 (2,3,1) - can you move (1) slightly further right to avoid overlap with (2) reworked
also, try to not make 03:29:444 (2,3) - the same distance from (1), that's very confusing for beginners. :c- 03:39:974 (1) - similar to the one in the beginning. so many 'oh's unmapped. :c try this maybe - http://puu.sh/kj34a.jpg reworked
very fun to play diff, nothing much to say!Insane
- 00:36:398 (3,4) - the beats on the red ticks are pretty loud here, but unmapped. :c To me, this feels a little empty, consider using two short sliders instead or maybe even four circles? okay
- 00:50:703 (3) - basically same as in Normal. try circles instead, emphasises the downbeat much better! i like this better
- 02:47:524 (1,2,3) - similar to Normal, too. I miss emphasis on the downbeat here no thanks
- 02:54:676 - as in Normal, too. add a circle? its fine
- 03:02:623 (1,1,2,1,2) - also about downbeats.. I'm sure you can come up with something that matches them better? these are fine i believe
- 03:28:451 (3) - here, too. consider shortening the slider to the blue tick and add a circle at 03:28:848 - no thanks its okay
Believe
- 00:36:994 - kinda missing a circle here, cause of the vocals. consider adding one! yarr
- 00:50:703 (3) - same as in N/H >o< eeeee
- 01:04:213 (1) - how about increasing volume for this circle? in comparison to the prev objects the hitsounds pretty weak (cause of different sampleset).. imo, + ~10-15% would make a little more impact oo yes sure
- 01:53:286 - missing a circle here, too. ;o; yas
- 02:07:789 (1) - same about volume as for 01:04:213 (1) - gfgsgsfgsfg
- 03:26:464 (3) - looks a little confusing, imo. o: in the other diff this works nicely, because you use it more often, but here just this once might throw players off. you could move it to 47|220 so it creates a triangle with 03:25:670 (1,2) - c: but you'd have to move 03:26:663 (4,5) - then, too hehehehehehehehehehe
looks fine to me except for going to keep themand some things I already mentioned in the other diffs. (slider at 00:50:703 - for example)
- 00:03:021 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - this feels so exaggerated. I know there's this sound in the background you're mapping, but overall the song is still more 'calm' and this doesn't match the pace. same for 00:09:378 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) -
both are playable, sure.. but I think you can map this better than with streams. >o< example:
Anyway, I like the set. Good luck getting it ranked!
And I hope I could help a little. ;o;

ps i dont think you should be sorry even with delay, youre the one helping me ;w;
