read the thread title. enough said.

if you're going to tell me that this is already implemented, please learn your facts. go to whatever thread on the osu! website that has youtube videos (like this one: t/581&start=2535 ) and use CTRL+U to view the source of the page. afterwards, use CTRL+F to search for "<object" or "flash". you should find some stuff indicating that the videos are indeed in flash. or if you do not understand html, then just trust me: osu!, although in beatmaps which have videos in their informations indeed use HTML5, forum threads do not.

What do you see the advantages would be? Why do you specifically want this change? Is it mainly compatibility you argue? Or efficiency? Tell us why.

Already should be implemented, so no point in asking those questions. Ultimately, people with at least some programming/networking knowledge would understand why this is a good idea. I think this belongs more in the help forums since this is an issue, not a request.

tl;dr: Flash is deprecated. It will be forgotten as IE6 in the future, as HTML5 with Javascript now replaced everything that browsers couldn't do in the past but that Flash could. Also, flash is extremely badly performant, and, on top of all, as it's a third party technology inside a browser, it leads to hundreds of exploits (just like Java inside a browser)

Or if you want the longer version

Just google this stuff and you'll find tons of interesting stuff to look at:
"Flash player exploits"
"Hacking team flash player"
"Flash player mozilla firefox exploit"
"Chromium NPAPI"

EDIT: if you're an applefag, these are also interesting reads:

I wasn't trying to get you to explain it to me, more to others who won't get why and might ask the question instead.
