I noticed this today, really doesn't look like my cup of tea at all.
Playing on expert doesn't look bad though.

The track moves? God why?
The colour choices for the whole game look weird too...

I can't imagine this will end well.

so it's guitar hero mixed with that one audio dodge the rectangles game, the name of which escapes me for some inexplicable reason right now

except in this case everything is random ??? so it's not a rhythm game it's just ???

I checked some videos on youtube and the charting is surprisingly decent. Does it work with itunes or is it shit like Beat Hazard?

Are you implying Beat Hazard did something wrong for not supporting iTunes? I think it's being patriotic and just for not supporting or encouraging that trash software.

Played a few songs on it on Expert.
I don't like it.

Automatically generated note tracks never work well. Thought everyone had figured that out by now :|

If anyone has played Phase for the iPod Video/Classic, then you will know what's coming. Not great.

Audiosurf works fine as a game because it's not a rhythm game. If you had to tap a button in time with the music then audiosurf's charts would feel extremely awkward too.

I'm buying this because I wanted to. And because of my collection of touhou songs. I don't mind the late notes or whatever I just want to play a game which is almost similar to the guitar hero/rock band series.

I love rhythm games. I can't resist 'em, and when I saw this shat come up on steam, I was the one of the first dunces to buy it when it came live.
Well, can't say I'm that disappointed. It's a pretty coolio game. Tracks aren't too bad, and it's a pretty fun GH clone. The backgrounds make me feel like I'm on an acid trip straight towards junkie planet, but that didn't stop me from playing it.
However, what DID make me stop was the track going side to side.
I can see where they got this, and what they're trying to pull off. I think I'm a ruhtard, but when I see it going sideways like that, I mess up miserably. :(
