I have been playing Osu for around 2 years now and I have always felt like I should be better for how long I have had Osu but at the same time I tend to play different games and blame it on that fact. However recently I decided to look up if there is any problems with using ring finger for single tapping and if it could cause any heart problems (call me paranoid or something xP) and saw only one post about someone using their ring finger and it sounded like they had a problem with singe tapping over a certain amount of BPM. I decided to watch WubWoofWolf to see how he tapped to see that he uses his index and middle finger. But I realized I have also been using my tablet weird (or maybe WWW has?). WWW would have his hand on the most right of the tablet while I had my hand in the middle bottom of the tablet. I feel as if my odd ways of playing have an effect on getting better at the game. Does anyone feel the same? And if anyone knows how to switch styles I would appreciate some advice.

Switching playstyles comes with some adjustment time. Try to grind through it and play slightly easier maps if you need to.
You're free to switch if you wish, most of the time I recommend trying out different things. If anything you should at least give index/middle finger a try, but shouldn't feel forced to stick to it if you feel it's just not working for you.
Doomsday single taps with his index finger and streams with his index/ring fingers iirc. Narrill too used to play like that, but switched to index/middle a few months ago.
Abnormal play styles are cool anyway. I'm not particularly abnormal but I think the combination of tablet dragging and fully alternating is somewhat rare.
