Hey Deif :D/
Mod request for helping me with a GD on my map :)

General
01:10:955 - Just a little issue which is not too important but would be nice to split up the Kiai you have atm and start one here too as it gives more emphasis.
Some Objects not snapped in Platter diff if you check Aimod

Cup
00:22:682 (2) - Making this into a reverse would go well with the vocal in the middle on the white tick

00:24:592 (1) - Feel like the start of this long vocal part is missing a higher sounding hitsound. A clap or finish would work nicely

00:27:592 (2,3) - I think it's best to mirror (3) with (2). But considering this, there would be a lot of these patterns. maybe a new design would work better? Here is an idea.

00:42:864 - Not too essential but adding a circle note here makes it sound nicer with the vocals

01:12:592 (1) - Same reverse reason as 00:22:682 (2) -

01:23:228 (2) - Making this into a slider glides nicely with the vocal

Salad
00:11:773 (4,1) - This jump could be reduced a little bit as i think it is too far. I see that 00:12:047 (1,2,3) - are mirrored so i suggest moving 00:11:773 (4) - to about x:208

00:12:047 (1) - To make the mirror better Ctrl + G this and adjust the positioning

00:20:228 (1) - Suggest curving this slider and 00:21:864 (1) - this one because it looks smoother in play

00:31:137 (3,4) - (4) would be better at x:272 or x:288 because as it is at the moment makes the flow a bit harder as you are stopping a bit more in play

00:41:501 (2,3) - move (2) to x:208 and (3) to x:304 for better flow

00:42:592 (4,1) - I would reduce the distance here just a tiny bit with (1) to make it a bit easier to catch (although you may wish to keep as i see for emphasis but still could be reduced a little bit). x:432 would be my suggestion

00:46:410 (1) - Could make a bit of a bigger jump here for emphasis ? x:112 is my suggestion

01:08:501 (2) - i got to admit i am a little confused here as the slider looks mirrored to the previous (1) in the editor but in play it's not as smooth. not really a suggestion but perhaps fiddle about with it ?

01:15:592 (3) - move to x:192 since it's a bit of a hard jump for salad

01:23:228 (2) - Same thing as cup with using a slider to glide nicer with the vocals

Platter
This is just something personal but 7.7 AR and OD could be 8 as there is not that much difference

00:04:682 (3) - Move this left more to make a jump as (1,2,3) are too easy. Suggest moving to about x:160

00:12:864 (2,1) - Be nice if there was a bigger jump here to blast it into the quiet part :3

00:38:228 (1,2) - add a curve to these to glide nicer with the vocals

01:02:774 (1,2) - I think you can remove (2) and extend (1) to where (2) was as it fits nicer (add a curve too if you do this)

Rain
00:05:501 (1) - add a little bit of a curve for this slider to fit with the vocals (even though it's not much effect it still add a bit too it :3)

00:19:410 (4,5,6) - I remember you teaching me about notes turning around for better flow so i think this could be flipped to make it smoother to catch :3 (some others could do with this too)

00:21:864 (1) - This pattern seems to flow better with the music imo

00:25:546 (2,3) - Move these right of the slider a bit otherwise you will just be standing there waiting for them to fall into the plate ;w;. Suggest (2) at x:80 and (3) at x:128

00:26:773 (1) - i would rotate this about -35 degrees because as it is now it's sort of like a stop and stand still which is hard to get and flows better if added a bit of a slant instead

00:35:500 (2) - Ctrl + G this as i find it provides better flow

00:53:228 (1) - After this slider are those little baby ding ding noises XD (could not find better words to describe it). For the Rain it would be nice to add some notes on them to some how show it slowing down the velocity. But this is only a little suggestion as i see this could change the consistency of what you have at the minute.

00:57:864 (1,2) - The hyper should really start at (1) and blast to (2) for emphasis on the drop

01:24:592 (2) - Move to x:96 as there is a bit of a delay for a rain diff and also goes nicely with vocals

(And yes i know no answer means fixed XD)

Well i hope this helped.
Any questions feel free to pm me or if i am not on the leave a message in my inbox.
Best of luck :D/
Okoratu
I should add songs like these to t/267238
when i have time.

I don't even play ctb but am always happy to see someone mapping songs related to any of 07th Expansion's works

also real sneaky to take something related to ep 8 for the opening of the Anime which covers the first 4 VNs

General
01:10:955 - Just a little issue which is not too important but would be nice to split up the Kiai you have atm and start one here too as it gives more emphasis. (I thought about splitting the kiai, but the bridge between both choruses has also the same emphasis, so I'd rather keep a continuous kiai time)
Some Objects not snapped in Platter diff if you check Aimod

[Cup]

00:27:592 (2,3) - I think it's best to mirror (3) with (2). But considering this, there would be a lot of these patterns. maybe a new design would work better? Here is an idea. (Did sth else there to vary the pattern)

01:12:592 (1) - Same reverse reason as 00:22:682 (2) - (I'll keep the current one. There are some other similar sliders in this diff, but they don't really need to be halved + added a repetition since the vocals aren't that prominent. eg. 01:14:228 (1) - )

01:23:228 (2) - Making this into a slider glides nicely with the vocal (The distance note-spinner worries me, considering it's an easy difficulty and the low AR)

[Salad]
00:12:047 (1) - To make the mirror better Ctrl + G this and adjust the positioning (Modified already, along to the previous suggestion)

00:42:592 (4,1) - I would reduce the distance here just a tiny bit with (1) to make it a bit easier to catch (although you may wish to keep as i see for emphasis but still could be reduced a little bit). x:432 would be my suggestion (There are not many dashy parts in this Salad, and this is one I'd like to keep if possible)

01:23:228 (2) - Same thing as cup with using a slider to glide nicer with the vocals (See what I wrote above)

[Platter]
This is just something personal but 7.7 AR and OD could be 8 as there is not that much difference (If there's not that much difference, why changing it? \:D/)

00:04:682 (3) - Move this left more to make a jump as (1,2,3) are too easy. Suggest moving to about x:160 (The majority of jumps of that kind are as easy as that one, gotta keep them for consistency)

[Rain]
00:19:410 (4,5,6) - I remember you teaching me about notes turning around for better flow so i think this could be flipped to make it smoother to catch :3 (some others could do with this too) (I'd keep it as it is, due to the current jumpy effect)

00:25:546 (2,3) - Move these right of the slider a bit otherwise you will just be standing there waiting for them to fall into the plate ;w;. Suggest (2) at x:80 and (3) at x:128 (Did something else there to still keep the dashy transition)

00:35:500 (2) - Ctrl + G this as i find it provides better flow (It's not a real flow-breaker. Could still work)

00:57:864 (1,2) - The hyper should really start at (1) and blast to (2) for emphasis on the drop (Disagreed. The emphasis comes with the last syllable of "nakanaide", which is that exact jump)

01:24:592 (2) - Move to x:96 as there is a bit of a delay for a rain diff and also goes nicely with vocals (I'd like to keep the current emphasis that happens in 01:24:865 (3,4) - . Adding another HDash there is too much imo)

(And yes i know no answer means fixed XD)

Well i hope this helped.
Any questions feel free to pm me or if i am not on the leave a message in my inbox.
Best of luck :D/

Quite helpful mod. Thanks for your time!

Also thanks for the stars @Stefan and your support @Okoratu \:D/
Shurelia
Midnight snack.

stuffs
00:05 Shurelia: also i saw you making Akiko Shihata's map >:D
00:06 Deif: You can mod it if you want
00:06 *Deif runs
00:06 Shurelia: np pls
00:06 Deif: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/317968
00:07 *Shurelia is playing [http://osu.ppy.sh/b/708224 Akiko Shikata - Katayoku no Tori [Cup]] <CatchTheBeat>
00:07 Shurelia: An AR6 Cup ? :o
00:09 Deif: It's a quite common AR for a Cup diff o.o
00:10 Deif: 5-6
00:10 Shurelia: maybe it's because people usually use AR5 for their cup .
00:14 Shurelia: 00:39:864 (1,2,3,4) - i enjoy more if i have to tap shift 4 times instead 2 times david
00:14 Shurelia: *dash
00:15 Shurelia: move 00:40:682 (3) - more left would be better for me
00:15 Shurelia: so it'll make players have to press dash 4 times
00:15 Shurelia: to follow with the umm... orchesta?
00:16 Deif: Placed it under the (1)
00:16 Shurelia: yep , that's great
00:16 Deif: I'll do the same for 00:43:955 (3) -
00:16 Shurelia: alright
00:17 Shurelia: inb4 0.01 stars get!
00:17 Shurelia: lol
00:17 Deif: wow such difficulty
00:18 Deif: I'd rather reach the 3.75 in Rain to get the (I), but I suck at pp-farming mapping =]
00:18 Deif: Doesn't really matter lol
00:18 Shurelia: at lest people enjoy your map XD
00:18 Shurelia: look at my first time CtB map
00:18 Shurelia: >5.19 stars but soo easy
00:22 Shurelia: david , 01:28:955 (1) - moving this to the far right wouldn't hurt much
00:23 Shurelia: let's say we make a "Suprise" part for the player
00:23 Shurelia: so player will have to hold their dash button to catch it
00:23 Shurelia: and i think it fit with the vocal that said.. umm.. "wo" ? or "do"?
00:23 Deif: Meh... The vocals aren't that strong there ;w;
00:24 Shurelia: it's strong david
00:24 Shurelia: listen to the "wo" or "do"
00:24 Shurelia: ;w;
00:25 Deif: (1)'s "de" is definitely stronger than (4)'s "go"
00:25 Deif: I did sth similar for the Rain
00:26 Shurelia: okay then
00:26 Shurelia: Hmm.. AR 7.7 seems..
00:27 Deif: I made the average between the highest and the lowest
00:27 Deif: That was the result of the Platter lol
00:29 Shurelia: david
00:29 Shurelia: try 8.2
00:29 Shurelia: on platter
00:29 Shurelia: felt better for me
00:30 Shurelia: and more readable
00:30 Shurelia: 7.7 makes some jumps looks confusing for me ;;
00:33 Deif: I can go for 8.0. Gotta touch the other ARs to keep a constant spread
00:34 Shurelia: 8 still a bit no good
00:34 Shurelia: 8.1 ?
00:34 Deif: 8.0 - 8.1 that's no difference lol
00:34 Shurelia: ww
00:34 Shurelia: yeah, 8
00:34 Shurelia: XD
00:34 Shurelia: i'm drunk damn
00:36 Deif: wwww
00:36 Shurelia: inb4 i don't find any pattern issue here
00:36 Shurelia: or maybe i'm still no good on CtB modding ;w;
00:37 Deif: It's always hard at the beginning. Just give a try and follow your instincts
00:37 Deif: (if you post the log in the thread I can give you a kds :p)
00:39 Shurelia: ooo , Really? :o
00:39 Deif: Some patterns were changed in Salad, and also the AR in Platter
00:39 Deif: You helped improving the map, so why not?
00:41 Shurelia: ahh.. btw
00:41 Shurelia: add "Seagulls" to the tags
00:41 Shurelia: i don't know why but.. https://vndb.org/v24
00:42 Deif: That Spanish in the webpage is terrible lol
00:42 Deif: Oh really? I thought the English translation was just "When they cry"
00:43 Shurelia: it is
00:43 Deif: But well, seagull isn't that relevant
00:43 Shurelia: also add "Alchemist" , it's the game developer i think (even this is an anime op ver)
00:43 Deif: If I start adding tags, I can go for "golden butterfly" too
00:44 Shurelia: #Tags_Fags
00:44 Shurelia: lol , such me
00:44 Shurelia: well, that's only some suggestion from me about tags, david.
00:45 Deif: I'll check the OP video, if Alchemist appears there as producer
00:46 Shurelia: http://puu.sh/ijLoF.jpg
00:46 Shurelia: confused.jpg
00:46 Deif: fandub
00:46 Shurelia: ooh, i see
00:46 Deif: Not that reliable
00:48 Shurelia: well , at last
00:48 Shurelia: the most important tags has already here
00:48 Shurelia: so it's okay i think
00:48 Deif: Studio Deen could go there
00:48 Deif: But that's just meh...
00:48 Shurelia: yep, i saw it too
00:48 Shurelia: but naah
00:48 Shurelia: XD
00:49 Deif: 07th Expansion is the most popular there
00:49 Shurelia: people may won't search this song by typing "Studio Deen"
00:49 Deif: Wiki to the rescue http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umineko:_When_They_Cry
00:49 Shurelia: aah
00:50 Shurelia: Alchemist is the developer for PS3 ver
00:50 Shurelia: and yes, i see "Seagulls" here again
00:50 Shurelia: *there
00:50 Deif: "literally When the Seagulls Cry", meaning that's the literal translation from the Japanese title
00:51 Shurelia: well adding "Seagulls" to the tags won't hurt i think? o3o
00:52 Deif: Just this one has it, but the tags are somehow... strange https://osu.ppy.sh/s/15706
00:53 Shurelia: 'i don't know what uu- mean"
00:53 Shurelia: lol
00:56 Shurelia: gaah the other 07th expansion maps didn't have "Seagulls" on it
00:56 Shurelia: Screw "Seagulls" then.
01:01 Shurelia: brb posting

Don't mind our "Seagulls".

General Comments:
  1. Song Folder: No issues
  2. Song Setup: No storyboard? You can disable widescreen support for all diffs. Also, combo colour (3) seems quite bold compared to the others which are much paler. Perhaps try RGB 70,255,255?
  3. Metadata: I'm not sure you need "no" in tags, since it's already in the Romanised title. Could also add "theme" and "OP" to tags
  4. Timing: No issues
  5. Hitsounds: Could you find a slightly different (or just louder) alternative for normal-hitfinish? I didn't notice them during play at all, and I didn't even realise they were there until I saw them in the editor :3 Alternatively, you could just increase the volume for notes with more finality, such as the tail of 00:06:319 in the Cup
  6. AImod: No issues
Difficulty-Specific Comments:
Cup
  1. 00:34:137 (2) - This could perhaps be a 3/4 slider for the held vocal note, since I don't feel it has enough finality to stand as a single circle
  2. 00:59:501 (1) - I feel this fits the vocal better as a 1/2 repeating slider
  3. 01:17:228 (2) - The jump here seems slightly too big to me - it's less prominent than 01:17:501 (1) whilst the spacing is the same (1.70x). To avoid having to move the following notes around, I rotated the tail of 01:15:865 (1) - 15 degrees clockwise, to give a spacing between (1,2) of 1.45x instead of 1.70x, which feels more natural to me

Salad
  1. 00:06:864 (4) - I don't feel this jump really fits, since this drum beat is pretty weak compared to 00:07:137 (1) which has the same spacing. I' understand you want to keep a nice symmetry here, so I'd move 00:06:046 (2) to x-232 and 00:06:319 (3) to x-382 (tail stacks with 00:05:228 (4) -) - this gives a 1.80x spacing between both, and a 1.73x to (4) which I feel suits the music much better
  2. 00:07:137 (1) - On a slightly related note, why does this note have a 2.31x jump, when all similar downbeat notes before and after (e.g. 00:08:773 (1) -) have a ~2.88x spacing? Might want to respace this, as it doesn't require dash currently, whilst all the others do
  3. 00:15:319 (3) - NC here for consistency? All of your other combos are 4 beats long, yet this one is 8
  4. 00:25:137 (1,2,3,1) - 3 back to back dashes of this size seems a bit tricky for a Salad, especially since this is a calm part of the song. I'd move (2) to x-324 so that the emphasised downbeat at 00:26:773 (1) is the only one requiring dash
  5. 01:02:501 (3) - Feels a little bit awkward to catch for me, I'd reduce the jump distance by moving to x-340

Platter
  1. 00:44:773 (2,3) - Feels a little awkward to catch for me, I'd reduce the jump distance slightly - moving both towards each other by x-8 should do it
  2. 01:01:137 (1,2) - ^ I'd move both x-4 towards each other

Rain
  1. It's alright, I guess ;)
And that's it! Hopefully you found this helpful (and adequate compensation for your timing services), but if you have any questions, feel free to get back to me and I'll do what I can to help.

Nice map, good luck, and feel free to call me back (:

  3. Metadata: I'm not sure you need "no" in tags, since it's already in the Romanised title. Could also add "theme" and "OP" to tags ("no" belongs to the japanese title. In order to search it, it'll be likely necessary. I don't see the point in adding "theme" tbh, and only "OP" won't make any valid searches unless it has 3 characters like "op1")

  1. 00:34:137 (2) - This could perhaps be a 3/4 slider for the held vocal note, since I don't feel it has enough finality to stand as a single circle (Used that due to the symmetry to the next note)

Storyboard added. Big big thanks to -Kurisu- for helping me optimizing those butterflies. I hope it looks okay :)
MBomb
My entire mod just deleted itself... let's do this again...

Rain
00:25:955 (4,5) - Click and drag these and move to x:368 to make a hyper for the strong sound on 4 from 3, whilst keeping an easy jump after the HDash.
00:38:228 (1,2,3) - Click and drag these to x:496 to create a nice HDash, and getting rid of the timing jump to 2.
01:15:046 (4) - Move this to x:368 to make the jump less awkward.
01:28:955 (1) - Maybe move this x:64 for a dash?

Platter
01:28:955 (1) - Move this to x:480 for a nice dash, fitting of the finish.

...That's all I could find.

Salad
00:26:228 (2) - Move this to x:368 to make a nice dash for the strong sound here.
00:36:592 (1,2) - Move 1 to x:384 and 2 to x:368 for a nice fitting dash to 1 and still a good distance to 2?
00:39:046 (2) - Move this to x:464 for a nice dash that fits the strong vocal.
00:57:865 (1) - Move this to x:176 for a nice dash on the strong vocal.
01:07:683 (1) - Move this to x:432, this is fitting of a dash but currently possible without dashing.
01:10:956 (1) - Move this to x:336, to make it a dash.

Cup
00:26:228 (2,3) - Move 2 to x:352 and 3 to x:224 for more emphasis on the finish sounds.
00:27:592 (2) - Just make this a 1/2 repeat slider with the same shape, it works just as well.
00:30:865 (2) - ^
00:43:137 (1) - Move this to x:448 for more emphasis on the strong vocal.
01:08:501 (2) - Move this to x:352 for more emphasis on the strong vocal.
01:10:955 (1) - Move this to x:384, ^

Ok that's it, call me back.

can back up your metadata but not necessarily since that's the full version on that album

well ok video says it all uhh there's another name included with in this and idk how to read that one, could go in tags for doing something though if you manage to do so

as for the butterflies in the kiai
it's kinda weird for them to stop falling in 01:20:774 - how about all those butterflies that are spawned after that are just told to fade out from spawn time until 01:24:046 - ?

My entire mod just deleted itself... let's do this again...

[Rain]01:15:046 (4) - Move this to x:368 to make the jump less awkward. (Moved it even further to the left to make both dashes more equal)
01:28:955 (1) - Maybe move this x:64 for a dash? (I'd like to keep that circle with a soft movement instead, since the intensity of the lyrics decreases)

[Platter]01:28:955 (1) - Move this to x:480 for a nice dash, fitting of the finish. (Same reason as in Rain)

...That's all I could find.

[Salad]00:26:228 (2) - Move this to x:368 to make a nice dash for the strong sound here. (Just reduced that distance with JBHyperion's mod)
00:39:046 (2) - Move this to x:464 for a nice dash that fits the strong vocal. (Just changed slightly the shape of the slider. Tried your suggestion, but the dash was sorta extreme imo)

[Cup]00:43:137 (1) - Move this to x:448 for more emphasis on the strong vocal. (Move the previous note instead)

Ok that's it, call me back.

Thanks for taking another look. Fixed also the stuff from Okoratu's post. Hope it looks better!

After a few very small changes, I think it's ready! (My first bubble <3)

logs
14:27 - Magic Bomb -: Let me recheck everything quickly
14:29 Deif: Stupid AIBat, I thought I had an unsnapped slider
14:29 Deif: It's just 1/12. Everything's okay
14:33 - Magic Bomb -: Hmm, maybe lower all difficulty ARs like you have with the rain? Like, cup 5.5, Salad 6.5, Platter 7,5
14:33 - Magic Bomb -: for the low bpm
14:34 Deif: I actually raised the AR in Platter because there were complains that it was too low before (7.7)
14:34 - Magic Bomb -: Oh, welp
14:34 Deif: Tried to balance the other ARs as well
14:36 - Magic Bomb -: Hmm, AR7.7 seems fine to me but yeah it's up to you
14:37 Deif: Let's leave it, before ragers come again \:D/
14:37 - Magic Bomb -: Alright XD
14:37 Deif: It's not a big difference though. The only diff that is "easier" than usual is the Rain, and it got 8.5 already
14:37 - Magic Bomb -: Yeah
14:37 - Magic Bomb -: kk
14:37 - Magic Bomb -: next point
14:38 - Magic Bomb -: and this is super nazi btw
14:38 - Magic Bomb -: Platter HP5.7 and rain HP6.5
14:38 - Magic Bomb -: for consistent spread
14:39 Deif: welp
14:39 - Magic Bomb -: ;)
14:40 Deif: I wanted to keep the update count to the lowest, but okay :p
14:40 Deif: Anything else?
14:45 - Magic Bomb -: 00:39:046 (4,5,6,7) - Whilst this is symmetrical to the hyper before it, because it's a stronger hyper it can force the player against the wall
14:45 *- Magic Bomb - is editing [http://osu.ppy.sh/b/708226 Akiko Shikata - Katayoku no Tori [Rain]]
14:45 - Magic Bomb -: So maybe just move to x:16?
14:45 Deif: It's in x:16 already
14:45 Deif: o_O
14:45 - Magic Bomb -: wait
14:45 - Magic Bomb -: i meant x:32
14:45 - Magic Bomb -: got confused because large grid whoops
14:46 - Magic Bomb -: As in drag the whole thing to x:32
14:46 Deif: Yup
14:48 - Magic Bomb -: Right yeah that's it then
14:49 Deif: \o/

what i meant though was letting the butterflies continue to fall down until the kiai ends and fading all of them out until 01:24:046 - but i guess the current thing works
