Hello, rechecking stuff. Focusing on Normal.

Normal
- 00:07:317 (3) - Try and keep slider points centered about the curve to have as smooth looking shape as possible.

- 00:10:044 (2) - Maybe make the first curve more shallow, since it seems a little unusual at the moment. Also perhaps try a different flow? That isn't as important though. You may need to move the other objects around this.

- 00:14:135 (1) 00:15:499 (3) 00:17:374 (2) - You can improve the shape of these wave sliders. Right now they look weird since there are short 'curves' close to the ends of the slider compared to a longer 'straight' section in the centre. I'd recommend reading the Slider Waves section on this thread. - 00:24:192 - I hear a note on this beat. Perhaps rearrange the rhythm to go like this? - 00:30:328 (3) - This would be better off as a slider to match the guitar. Also the polarity is kind of weird to play anyway. Perhaps try this? - 00:33:226 (1) - As with 00:10:044 (2) try and centre the curve and make it a little less sharp.
- 00:41:749 (3) - I won't point out these wave sliders again, but apply what I said to the rest of them.
- 00:51:976 (4) - Maybe offset this (and 1) slightly so that there isn't so much of a linear feel to the flow. - 01:00:499 (1) - I approve of this.
- 01:05:783 (1) - Add a Finish here for the impact on the kiai start.
- 01:16:692 (1) - Similar thing here with the Finish.
- 01:34:419 - I here a note here. So perhaps a slider? - 01:35:442 (5) - Maybe change this slider to something a bit more interesting for the guitar whammy note.
- 01:46:351 (5) - Could also be a slider if you wanted it to be.
- 01:49:590 (1,2) - Kind of an awkward polarity to play for this part of the music. Maybe add a circle at 01:50:612 ?
- 02:03:226 (1,3) - Maybe change these so that the red slider point isn't so close to the head. This will allow for a smoother shape. Also apply what I said about the curves of these sliders.
02:05:953 (1) - This could be Ctrl+G'd for a better flow if you wanted. It's near the end of the song so it shouldn't cause too much inconvinience to rearrange the notes.
- 02:07:828 (4) - Also check this for the slider curve. Try and make it smoother.

Arf's Hard
- 00:19:590 (1,2,3) - Inconsistent spacing here.
- 00:26:919 (7) - You could make the first curve of this slider a little more prominent. Not too important though. Also double check its blanket with 00:27:601 (8). - 01:09:874 (4) - Minor blanket thing.... ;) [01:09:192].
- 01:18:567 (5,1,2) - Minor: You could try and make all of these symmetrical with eachother. If you look at it from [01:19:334] you can see it's not quite perfect.
- 01:20:783 (4) - Another blanket thing [01:20:122].
- 01:42:601 (5,1,2) - There are on x1.2 DS, which is inconsistent with the rest of this section.

Insane
- 00:17:374 (2) - Maybe place the red slider point further away from the slider for a better looking slider. - 00:21:465 (4) - Smilar kind of thing here too.
- 00:26:919 (1) - I don't know about this thing. Maybe try something with less red points? - 00:30:328 (1) - Maybe try a blanket with 2.
- 00:37:828 (3) - Shift the second slider point up a bit for a better looking slider. - 00:48:567 (3) 00:52:317 (5) - Same thing as normal with your wave sliders.
- 01:04:760 (1) - This could be a blanket with 01:05:612 (3) if you wanted it to be.
- 01:29:817 (9) - NC this for the SV change.
- 01:36:124 (1,2,3,4) - I feel like you could choose a better flow with these jumps so that there's a better pattern and it doesn't overlap with 01:35:442 (1). You could also just change the slider outright if you wanted.
- 01:46:351 (8) - This one definitely needs changing. Atleast change it so the slider tail doesn't come back on itself like that.
- 01:57:771 (1) - Looks like this slider turned catmull, so you'll have to replace it.
- 02:03:737 (5) - Move the third white point up a bit for a better looking shape. - 02:05:101 (5) - Same thing here, but with the second point on the first curve.

Sorry that this is longer than you expected/wanted it to be /shrug.

So I kinda skipped a few maps to do this one because I only have 30 minutes free before I have to go to work and the maps before you either had unrankable issues or were like really long and I didn't wanna deal with that until after work.

So congratulations to you

Overall:
Hitnormals are REALLY loud. I prefer to use either hitsoft, or I like to go into Audacity and I like to make the hitnormal sounds just a little quieter. Right now it sounds like as if I took a snare drum to a flute choir and started banging out eighth notes.

Insane:
00:00:499 - It'd be cool to have a note here and then have the spinner start on the red tick. It gives the entire thing more impact, plus establishes your approach rate early on. Apply this to normal too.
00:10:044 (1) - Clap here pls. Or whatever you're using for your snare drum.
00:11:408 - What's your spacing here? I know that you wanna have it jumpy and stuff, but a lot of times it gets REALLY inconsistent, especially because this is a repeated motif. One group, I may be jumping after the first slider, and in the other group it'll all be normally spaced. Make sure you create an idea at the beginning and stick with it for every iteration of the motif.
00:29:306 (4) - This is a prime example of what I was talking about above. Why is this so short compared to the other notes? It doesn't sound like it needs reduced spacing, but it's just kinda closer.
00:42:431 (8) - Would be nice to have this on the center of the Y axis, above the previous pattern, so it flows nicer.
00:54:533 (1) - This reduced spacing gives the player no momentum to do these next jumps.
01:38:681 (1) - What shape are you creating here?

Hard:
00:18:226 (4,5,6) - These back and forth patterns are a huge peeve of mine. They're just like, not very easy to read, especially since this is the middle diff of the map.
01:57:132 (1) - Unrankable spinner. This is WAY too short. ranking criteria states that a spinner must be able to give at least 2000 bonus, which this one does not. Make a pretty slider here or something.

Normal:
00:00:499 (1) - hitsound on the end of sliders pls.
01:57:771 (1) - You could do WAY more here. Repeated sliders like this are generally frowned upon when they have more than one 1 repeat.

yay. It's a good start, but I'd suggest that you take a little bit more time fine-tuning your insane difficulty. While the basis for great patterns are there, they lack consistency in spacing and cause it to look randomly placed rather than a coherent motivic pattern.

The rhythm is the same except in the first phrase where the sliders are there instead of the repeat sliders, since the three beat is less prominent there.   1. Please review the timing!
    In the following sections there are a few snaps that are early:
    01:25:042 - to 01:30:155 -
    01:52:314 - to 01:57:428 -

    I can tell for sure that 01:25:724 - and 01:54:019 - are early relative to the music. The shift induced by these sections cause the later offset to be slightly off:
    You can tell in the part following the green section at 01:57:769 - that the whistle-like sound is always slightly late relative to the metronome. On the bigger hits it is not quite as obvious as they have more blurr but I can hear 02:04:246 - being slightly early compared to the drum so you definitely want to review the timing to check if there are more inconsistencies and offsetshifts for some parts. The sections I mentioned seem to be the biggest issue though.


Normal

This diff may be problematic in terms of spread as it uses 1/2 on a very frequent basis. As you use DS1.0 this can be easily adjust if a BN requests you to ease the diff a bit so I won't really pay attention to it.
If you don't know what polarity is give this a view: t/55282
Charles talks about blue ticks and changing in that video but for Easy and Normal diffs it's also important that the polarity isn't switching all the time between red and white as that is very difficult to tap for a beginner. Switching polarity is fine in general but doing it after every note is a hassle from a playerperspective. The tapping motion on the easiest diff should be somewhat consistent to guarantee a high playability.
Pretty much every of my suggestion on this matter is supposed to keep the core of what you wanted to convey while trying to reduce the tappingdifficulty to a minimum.

  1. 00:26:917 - Having this strong sound on a slider end is not good. If you already make the pattern harder to have it covered you should make it an active click. I think using the following pattern is better:

    This covers the strong guitar sound with an active hit and it think it is also easier to play because it mimics the previously often used pattern at 00:20:951 (3,4) - in the first part which makes it easier to pick up.
  1. 00:29:133 (2) - I think this slider is a miss. 5/2 is a really awkward length to begin with and I think the focus can be improved. With hitsounds on 00:29:985 - and 00:30:326 - it becomes painfully apparent that 00:30:155 - is not covered by the map. In such cases it is often better to pick up notes you can group together instead of notes that are separated by other notes.
    Let's say for example that you extend the slider to 3/1: The sliderend and the following slider appear as a unit because they're not split up by something that you cannot cover due to difficulty restrictions. The sound you left out now doesn't appear very present in comparison because you aren't waiting for the next note to click opposed to how it was previously when the unmapped sound played.
    A more natural choice would be to make it a 3/2 repeatslider which equals to 3/1 in full length so you get the unit instead of split notes as described.
    That way you will also catch another strong guitarsound on the red tick.
  1. 00:34:587 (2,3,4) - Replace this with a 3/2 repeatslider as there's a really noticeable guitar sound on the red tick and about nothing on 3.
  1. 00:40:042 (1,2,3,4) - This pattern is very uncomfortable to play as you're changing length and polarity with every single slider. I'd recommend you to simplify this pattern and came up with this as a possible solution:

    That's way easier to play as the player sticks to red polarity here. He has to switch to white for the next pattern and it misses out on 00:43:792 - but that's not a grave issue as its a separate combo and I think the continous singletaps do a good job of representing the melody going upwards with the guitar.
  1. The part from 00:44:133 - to 01:04:587 - is perfect patternwise, only thing that I'd recommend is lowering the hitsound volume on 01:01:860 (2,3) - as the hitsounds are very dominant over the song on this particular spot.
  1. 01:04:758 (1) - I'd make this 1/2 shorter as there's nothing really audible on the white tick it ends on right now.
  1. 01:05:780 (1,2,3,4,5) - This is again a really really weird polarity switching. Let's break this down:
    01:06:633 (2) - The active click here is the bass. You don't really care about the bass otherwise in the map so I don't think that it is a good idea to map as the active click here. It would be better if you would assign the active click to the guitar as you were predominantly following it where possible so far.
    To have no problem with polarity when removing the active click on the bass it's best if you just merge the guitar sound into the previous slider and make it a 3/2 repeatslider.
  1. 01:11:917 (2,4) - Extend both notes as sliders to the next red tick. It plays very odd if you skip on the guitar sound on that red tick first and then map it as an active click next time. Making both sliders gives consistency to the pattern. You can then change the other repeatsliders as shown here:

    This may very well look to hard for a Normal-diff but it's imo the best way to cover the entirety of guitarsounds here. The easier possibility to keep this consistent is using 3/2 repeatsliders once again:

    You don't have all guitarsounds anymore but it is really comfortable to play and probably the most appropriate solution for this spot.
  1. 01:16:689 (1) - Sliderend has no corresponding sound in the song? The white tick on the other hand really asks for coverage with the huge drumhit. A 3/2 repeatslider would do well here.
  1. 01:22:655 (2,3) - Ctrl+G the rhythm so you have an active click on the guitar
  1. 01:31:178 (2,3,4) - It doesn't make much sense to follow the guitar with the two 1/2 sliders when you skip the guitar sound on 01:31:349 -
    Same problem as earlier, you split up the pattern instead of grouping sounds in a way that doesn't even allow the player to be actively sad about an unmapped one. I'd suggest this pattern:

    Also more convenient to play I'd say.
  1. 01:34:417 (3,4,5) - I think mapping both drums and guitar doesn't work out well here as a Normal diff doesn't give you the needed tools to properly cover both. Personally I would map this spot similar to the one above with 01:35:099 - as an active hit.
  1. 01:39:360 (2) - Make this a repeat to fully cover drums?
  1. 01:57:769 (1,2) - Extend both to the white tick to better match the strings
  1. 02:01:008 (4) - move to white tick to match strings
  1. 02:07:314 (3,4) - I'd replace this with this:

    That way you get a 1-time-repitition of that pattern and the first repitition of a pattern plays always nice.
  1. 02:08:678 (1) - I'd let this end on 02:11:405 - instead as two full measures are more natural than 2.5 when the music is fading out and there's no clear endpoint. Generally speaking, always end on a downbeat (big white tick) when there's no clear end to the song.
I would highly recommend you modding more maps yourself. You will look at other people's maps different than you will at your own and collect experience that will benefit you a lot when making rhythmically satisfying patterns with high playability. Especially for lower difficulties the structure of your patterns is crucial as the player won't be handle complicated stuff unlike on higher difficulties!



Arf's Hard
Neat diff, you made good progress from Coffee House onwards.
  1. 00:08:678 (1,2) - This looks really ambigous to play. This pattern basically replaces 00:05:951 (1) - .
    But at the same time 00:05:951 (1,2) - and 00:08:678 (1,2) - look extremely similar which would make me intuitively be late on 00:09:019 (2) - because I would expect the pattern to repeat. The drums are definitely there to support the 1/4 repeatslider but I think having it match the previous pattern plays better in the end as the 1/4 don't have any specific value for the map.
  1. 00:22:996 (2,3) - Ctrl+G so you have an active click on the strong guitar sound. You also mapped it on the repitition 00:25:894 (4) - so I think you should pick it up there too (don't forget to readjust hitsounds cause ctrl+g is lame).
  1. 01:47:883 (4) - Consider splitting this into two singles, I get you're doing drums here but the guitar on the red tick stands out so much that I wouldnt completely ignore it. Up to you though.
  1. 02:08:678 (5) - Would be dank if you managed it to have that end up perfectly in the middle so it blankets the spinner.
There was some other highly subjective stuff too I could've mentioned but I just skipped that cause you didn't really like my approach last time and it probably wouldn't be worth the effort of respacing tbh.


Insane

I think this diff is already in a decent state. It plays smoothly but imo it lacks a bit of character.
Quoting a friend who testplayed it for me:
i think it's good but
i don't think i'd play it over and over
try an SS once and move on
which sums up what I think pretty well (he plays this game like "SS or quit")
I'll try to give you suggestions to spice it up a bit.
In some spots it already goes into the correct direction but I think the ups and downs are not clear enough to make the diff amazing.
This is mainly due to you being not perfectly consistent with your spacing choices per part and maybe also a bit due to a lack of courage to go to the extremes.


  1. 00:08:678 - 00:11:405 - Let's talk about this breaking point. Starting at the first timestamp you get drums involved and get some sort of build up that ends at the second timestamp. From there on you basically get a repitition of the pattern you already had before:
    00:05:951 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3) -
    but!
    the instrumentalisation got bigger. There's a very audible difference between that spot and this spot:
    00:11:405 (1,2,3,1,2,3) -
    the spacing is exactly the same though, most notably because you apparently copied 00:07:314 (1,2,3) - and reused it after rotating it with an angle at 00:11:405 (1,2,3) - (which is fine on its own)
    It would feel good if the increase in volume/intensity would be reflected by a difference in DS/SV here. Imo lowering it for the first part isn't good as it feels really underwhelming to play like that, therefore placing a green section with SV 1.1 or 1.2 on 00:11:405 - would probably the most sensible option to achieve this difference. Yes, I know this sucks from a mapper perspective because you have to respace 30s of playtime but I think it would be worth it.
  1. 00:30:155 (4,5,6) - Since you're following the guitar with relatively big consistency otherwise you probably want to replace this with a circle and a 1/1 slider to give that guitar sound an active click and stuff.
  1. 00:34:417 (4,5) - Ctrl+g also to follow the guitar more closely (don't forget to adjust hitsounds as ctrl+g messes them up)
  1. 00:35:951 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4) - It's a bit weird how this pattern is kinda drumfocused when you were mapping guitar before. I also think 00:37:144 - should be covered by an active no matter what as it has pretty much everything on it.
    Personally I would stick for that entire thing to mapping guitar.
    Reason is the following:
    There is an overlying structure in the song. The single parts of the song start respectively at
    00:00:496 - Theme A (very weak)
    00:05:951 - Theme A (weak)
    00:11:405 - Theme A (strong)
    00:16:860 - Theme A (strong)
    00:22:314 - Theme B
    00:27:769 - Theme B variation
    00:33:224 - Theme B variation 2
    00:38:678 - Theme B variation 3
    etc.
    Now it's painfully obvious that each part is about 5.45 seconds 4 measures long. Each of these parts build a unit that is coherent in itself and therefore your style within these parts should be coherent (aka not suddenly switching the focus). If you want to have variation within your focus it makes most sense to plan this ahead of time and saying like
    "ok, for the first two times of B i will focus guitars and then for the other two times i will focus on drums instead" ( you could also say guitar-drum-guitar-drum but it's a bit easier to graps for the player if it repeats right away)
    That way you make a clear cut at a spot where it is the easiest for the player to reorientate patternwise because even if he is not acquainted with music theory he WILL expect new patterns at exactly these spots (because that's how rhythm works i suppose).
    So I'd say, review how you're treating the instruments here and get a clear cut or map guitar all the way through or whatever.
    Note: If you want to map drums over guitars in one of these part B things you should be wary of explicitly shifting the focus away from the guitar. Like when a strong guitarsound and a strong drum sound meet on one tick, make it a single not a slider because drum is punctual and guitar is dragged. I would just stick to guitar personally because the drumline is slightly to sparse to focus on for my taste.
  1. 00:43:536 (6) - this note does not quite exist in the song
  1. 00:43:962 (9) - remove this to give more force to the previous note; if you removed 6 you can arrange a (difficult) jumppattern with the remaining notes as there's sufficient recoverytime after it and it'd be only 3 notes. It would also be cool if it ended almost on top of 00:44:133 (1) - so that the player doesn't have to move the cursor much. That way the start of the next part along with the SV change feels more natural.
at this point i realise that I have to be careful so this doesn't become "Great Wall of China 2.0" ... fml
  1. 00:44:133 - Talking about relations through the whole song again here...
    So this is the slow part and you got that. I think you should make it even more "slow". Cut sounds that are not really important to further decelerate the player in order to achieve a greater contrast to the part where stuff actually happens.
    Spots where you can do this:
    00:44:814 (2) - cut the sliderend
    00:46:178 (7) - cut the sliderend
    00:47:542 (2) - cut the sliderend
    00:48:735 (4) - remove
    00:48:905 (5) - cut the sliderend
    00:49:587 (1) - make this a 2/1 without repeat
    00:50:951 (4) - extend to whitetick (makes it the same as 00:52:314 (8) -
    00:51:974 (6,7) - lower spacing
    00:53:167 (9) - remove

    this reduces the density and you get a lot of 1/1 spacings that make the player feel the difference between the parts much more significantly than the SV-change alone can. If you compare this part with the one at 00:05:951 - I would claim that the current one feels a lot slower. Reducing density like I proposed brings you closer to reflect this.

    density is not enough though. Also reduce the spacing on top of it. Use stacks on some of the 1/1 you created, for example on these:
    00:46:178 (7,8) -
    The idea is basically the following: The guitar sound gives the moving impulse and on 7 the drum stops the player as the initial impulse is basically dead even though the guitar rings forth. 8 gives the new impulse to move with the new sound after stopping. Using stacks that way the music can be experienced way stronger than it is possible when using regular spacing
  1. 00:54:530 (4,5) - if you do the stuff above you should probably merge these into a kickslider to ease the transition as the player is still in slowmode here. A kickslider is not only easier to play tappingwise but also gives you a great opportunity to accelerate the player towards the next section. Put the SV that is on 00:55:042 - right now before the kickslider in that case so it profits from the speed.
  1. 00:55:042 (1,2) - Extend the slider to the white tick so that trumpet thing or whatever it is gets more spotlight?
  1. 00:55:042 - I would also use a higher DS for this section (let's say around 2.7 if the next note is a 1/1 trumpetslider). As you're using a lot of 1/1 sliders the SR probably won't even go up by 0.01 if you increase it here and it gives each trumpetsound more value.
  1. In the same context I'd change 00:57:769 (1,2) - to a 1/1 slider + single
  1. 01:00:496 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - Increase the spacing especially for the 1/2 sliders as theyre really boring to play which doesn't quite fit to the song here.
  1. 01:05:780 - Also SV1.1/1.2 for this section as it's the Kiai.
  1. Make sure 01:11:064 (8,9,1,2,3,4) - has slightly lower spacing than 01:11:917 (4,5,6,1,2,3,4) - so the player can see a progression as the tension builds up more and more.
  1. 01:30:496 - The instrumentalisation is low in this part even though the guitar is doing cool stuff. Therefore I'd recommend rather mapping high density at low spacing. That way you still have a way to increase the sensation from playing when the instrumentalisation comes in big again. As it is now this is high spacing+density so you don't have good options to make a change in pace/instrumentalisation as it happens at 01:35:951 - experienceable for the player.

    tl;dr
    Significantly lower the spacing at the start of this section and gradually increase it as stuff gets more exciting.
  1. 02:07:996 (9,1) - This is kind of mean imo as it's a 1/4 jump. I'd make the slider repeat 3 times instead of 2 times here to make it easier to play

The sections I mentioned seem to be the biggest issue though. In my opinion the delay is very very little and it isn't really worth messing with, so I'd rather leave the timing as is. If it's really an issue later on Ill take a look at it.


Normal

This diff may be problematic in terms of spread as it uses 1/2 on a very frequent basis. As you use DS1.0 this can be easily adjust if a BN requests you to ease the diff a bit so I won't really pay attention to it.
If you don't know what polarity is give this a view: t/55282
Charles talks about blue ticks and changing in that video but for Easy and Normal diffs it's also important that the polarity isn't switching all the time between red and white as that is very difficult to tap for a beginner. Switching polarity is fine in general but doing it after every note is a hassle from a playerperspective. The tapping motion on the easiest diff should be somewhat consistent to guarantee a high playability.
Pretty much every of my suggestion on this matter is supposed to keep the core of what you wanted to convey while trying to reduce the tappingdifficulty to a minimum.

  1. 00:40:042 (1,2,3,4) - This pattern is very uncomfortable to play as you're changing length and polarity with every single slider. I'd recommend you to simplify this pattern and came up with this as a possible solution:

    That's way easier to play as the player sticks to red polarity here. He has to switch to white for the next pattern and it misses out on 00:43:792 - but that's not a grave issue as its a separate combo and I think the continous singletaps do a good job of representing the melody going upwards with the guitar. I wasn't really a fan of the singletaps so I did a bit of a different pattern there, but I did make the 1,2 sliders as you have suggested in the image.
  1. 01:11:917 (2,4) - Extend both notes as sliders to the next red tick. It plays very odd if you skip on the guitar sound on that red tick first and then map it as an active click next time. Making both sliders gives consistency to the pattern. You can then change the other repeatsliders as shown here:

    This may very well look to hard for a Normal-diff but it's imo the best way to cover the entirety of guitarsounds here. The easier possibility to keep this consistent is using 3/2 repeatsliders once again:

    You don't have all guitarsounds anymore but it is really comfortable to play and probably the most appropriate solution for this spot. Went with the second option since the first one really did seem a bit complicated for a Normal.
  1. 01:57:769 (1,2) - Extend both to the white tick to better match the strings I'm not a very big fan of this suggestion and the one below, I think the pattern works fine as is and it sounds a bit better than what you suggested.
  1. 02:01:008 (4) - move to white tick to match strings ^ as I said
I would highly recommend you modding more maps yourself. You will look at other people's maps different than you will at your own and collect experience that will benefit you a lot when making rhythmically satisfying patterns with high playability. Especially for lower difficulties the structure of your patterns is crucial as the player won't be handle complicated stuff unlike on higher difficulties! I will not deny that I am not experienced at all in lower diff mapping, and honestly this song in general in my opinion is quite tricky to make a lower diff for with how not-much experience I have. The suggestions you gave me that I didn't mention I really liked, since the rhythm is way more cleaner now, so really, thanks for taking the time and explaining everything in such detail, I really appreciate it!

Oh, I swear that I had changed that part in Normal! Must have changed it and undo'd that place at some point. I'll fix it now. I'll take a look at the Insane mod now, we could definitely discuss it since I did take a quick look before now and it does seem pretty big haha

    but!
    the instrumentalisation got bigger. There's a very audible difference between that spot and this spot:
    00:11:405 (1,2,3,1,2,3) -
    the spacing is exactly the same though, most notably because you apparently copied 00:07:314 (1,2,3) - and reused it after rotating it with an angle at 00:11:405 (1,2,3) - (which is fine on its own)
    It would feel good if the increase in volume/intensity would be reflected by a difference in DS/SV here. Imo lowering it for the first part isn't good as it feels really underwhelming to play like that, therefore placing a green section with SV 1.1 or 1.2 on 00:11:405 - would probably the most sensible option to achieve this difference. Yes, I know this sucks from a mapper perspective because you have to respace 30s of playtime but I think it would be worth it. Yeah now that you mention it, this would be nice to do. 1.2x seemed a bit fast for me but I did put a 1.1x timing point in the part where you specified.
  1. 00:34:417 (4,5) - Ctrl+g also to follow the guitar more closely (don't forget to adjust hitsounds as ctrl+g messes them up) I think the pattern follows the guitar quite closely as is, ctrl+g makes it a bit nicer but with the way I structured the pattern itself it's a bit too much of a pain if I ctrl+g those two, if it weren't for that I probably would have taken this suggestion.
  1. 00:35:951 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4) - It's a bit weird how this pattern is kinda drumfocused when you were mapping guitar before. I also think 00:37:144 - should be covered by an active no matter what as it has pretty much everything on it.
    Personally I would stick for that entire thing to mapping guitar.
    Reason is the following:
    There is an overlying structure in the song. The single parts of the song start respectively at
    00:00:496 - Theme A (very weak)
    00:05:951 - Theme A (weak)
    00:11:405 - Theme A (strong)
    00:16:860 - Theme A (strong)
    00:22:314 - Theme B
    00:27:769 - Theme B variation
    00:33:224 - Theme B variation 2
    00:38:678 - Theme B variation 3
    etc.
    Now it's painfully obvious that each part is about 5.45 seconds 4 measures long. Each of these parts build a unit that is coherent in itself and therefore your style within these parts should be coherent (aka not suddenly switching the focus). If you want to have variation within your focus it makes most sense to plan this ahead of time and saying like
    "ok, for the first two times of B i will focus guitars and then for the other two times i will focus on drums instead" ( you could also say guitar-drum-guitar-drum but it's a bit easier to graps for the player if it repeats right away)
    That way you make a clear cut at a spot where it is the easiest for the player to reorientate patternwise because even if he is not acquainted with music theory he WILL expect new patterns at exactly these spots (because that's how rhythm works i suppose).
    So I'd say, review how you're treating the instruments here and get a clear cut or map guitar all the way through or whatever.
    Note: If you want to map drums over guitars in one of these part B things you should be wary of explicitly shifting the focus away from the guitar. Like when a strong guitarsound and a strong drum sound meet on one tick, make it a single not a slider because drum is punctual and guitar is dragged. I would just stick to guitar personally because the drumline is slightly to sparse to focus on for my taste. Ok I've been looking over this part for.. a while now, and all your points are valid, but I think that last part still follows the guitar pretty well. To incorporate your suggestion about the active click at 00:37:144 (7) - I did change the slider to two single notes, but that's all I could think of, I can't really think of any patterns that follow the guitar more than drums because for me they're pretty "even" at that part.. If you have any ideas for it we could discuss it, but I really can't come up with much.
  1. 00:43:536 (6) - this note does not quite exist in the song I disagree, similar to 00:43:195 (3) - there is a little bit of a sound there, so I think it's fair to map it... however following your next suggestion...
  1. 00:43:962 (9) - remove this to give more force to the previous note; if you removed 6 you can arrange a (difficult) jumppattern with the remaining notes as there's sufficient recoverytime after it and it'd be only 3 notes. It would also be cool if it ended almost on top of 00:44:133 (1) - so that the player doesn't have to move the cursor much. That way the start of the next part along with the SV change feels more natural. ...while at first I really found that previous point a bit silly, when I read this I could see what you're going for and I quite like it, so I did end up changing this and the previous point.
at this point i realise that I have to be careful so this doesn't become "Great Wall of China 2.0" ... fml
  1. 00:44:133 - Talking about relations through the whole song again here...
    So this is the slow part and you got that. I think you should make it even more "slow". Cut sounds that are not really important to further decelerate the player in order to achieve a greater contrast to the part where stuff actually happens.
    Spots where you can do this:
    00:44:814 (2) - cut the sliderend
    00:46:178 (7) - cut the sliderend
    00:47:542 (2) - cut the sliderend
    00:48:735 (4) - remove
    00:48:905 (5) - cut the sliderend
    00:49:587 (1) - make this a 2/1 without repeat
    00:50:951 (4) - extend to whitetick (makes it the same as 00:52:314 (8) -
    00:53:167 (9) - remove

    this reduces the density and you get a lot of 1/1 spacings that make the player feel the difference between the parts much more significantly than the SV-change alone can. If you compare this part with the one at 00:05:951 - I would claim that the current one feels a lot slower. Reducing density like I proposed brings you closer to reflect this.

    density is not enough though. Also reduce the spacing on top of it. Use stacks on some of the 1/1 you created, for example on these:
    00:46:178 (7,8) -
    The idea is basically the following: The guitar sound gives the moving impulse and on 7 the drum stops the player as the initial impulse is basically dead even though the guitar rings forth. 8 gives the new impulse to move with the new sound after stopping. Using stacks that way the music can be experienced way stronger than it is possible when using regular spacing Did change the parts you told me to cut sliderends at/remove notes etc. but I didn't change the spacing too much - I think it works fine. Could be discussed more, though.
  1. 00:55:042 - I would also use a higher DS for this section (let's say around 2.7 if the next note is a 1/1 trumpetslider). As you're using a lot of 1/1 sliders the SR probably won't even go up by 0.01 if you increase it here and it gives each trumpetsound more value. 2.7 seemed a bit too crazy for me but I did increase the spacing in some parts in this section.
  1. 01:00:496 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - Increase the spacing especially for the 1/2 sliders as theyre really boring to play which doesn't quite fit to the song here. But.. but my blankets.. just kidding changed it haha, the spacing was a little low...
  1. Make sure 01:11:064 (8,9,1,2,3,4) - has slightly lower spacing than 01:11:917 (4,5,6,1,2,3,4) - so the player can see a progression as the tension builds up more and more. Lowered it, but it might not be enough? Either way it is lower than the second set of jumps although not by much.
  1. 01:30:496 - The instrumentalisation is low in this part even though the guitar is doing cool stuff. Therefore I'd recommend rather mapping high density at low spacing. That way you still have a way to increase the sensation from playing when the instrumentalisation comes in big again. As it is now this is high spacing+density so you don't have good options to make a change in pace/instrumentalisation as it happens at 01:35:951 - experienceable for the player.

    tl;dr
    Significantly lower the spacing at the start of this section and gradually increase it as stuff gets more exciting. I think this is another point where we could discuss it a bit, I did lower the spacing a little bit, but I don't really know if it's "significant" and maybe you can point out suggestions in a bit more detail.

There are some general sounds that should be a clickable rhythm, rather than slider ends. Difficult to say 'fix in general' so I'll list the specific examples to make it easier.
00:21:292 (2) - Should start on the red tick, if you make the previous slider a reverse, you could change this to a 3/4 slider and do a couple spacing changes.
00:36:974 (6) - Kind of an awkward pause, same thing about making the slider end clickable. Try changing the note placement and rhythm to something like this and see how that works. (Spacing is random for stuff, just a general idea)00:42:428 (6) - This needs to be changed, the slider has to start on the red tick to emphasise the finish. Use a 3/4 slider or a 1/1 to cover this rhythm.
01:50:780 (5) - Same thing

  1. 00:32:883 (4,5,6,7,1) - This stream flows much better if 4 was stacked on 00:31:689 (1) - . Doesn't need too much readjustment because you can make it semi-blanket 00:33:564 (2) - instead.
  2. 00:25:042 (1) - Just as a general thing, but it would be a good idea to replace some of the triples with reverse sliders. Just makes it a bit more playable as an insane diff
  3. 00:39:189 (4) - Seems kind of out of the way for flow, could move in a bit
  4. 00:45:496 (5) - Odd slider flow, try rotating it by -50 to -60 degrees
  5. 00:47:883 (3) - There's a mappable sound here, a reverse slider can cover this and keep rhythm
  6. 00:53:678 (1,2,3,4) - Odd in general to read this change, since DS gets large with smaller rhythm, that said 1,2,3 aren't equal spaced at least

Should also change the hitsounds to match Shinenite's diff, it's pretty bad right now to be honest. Use a hitsound copy program or something for a quick and easy switch.
Spinners are also overused in general
Might just want to revisit stuff since you're probably a better mapper now

  2. 00:31:178 (4,5) - Really shouldn't have consecutive 1/2 clickable patterns on a normal if you don't want an easy diff. Others are fine because they are slider ends, but this pattern requires double tapping. Just simplify it
  3. 01:42:087 (3) - These sliders have to have their heads be on the finished, it's far more important than the downbeats.
    Not modding much here because I only point out unrankable stuff on normal diffs, not my thing to mod them

Having gone through the Normal/Insane I could only find one spot that was really noticeably less dense, the part timestamped up there. This has been buffed a bit but the Insane, while it may appear less dense due to lacking 1/2 connections between patterns, has streams and triples and jumps which push it above the Hard in terms of actual difficulty so this shouldn't pose a problem
Should also change the hitsounds to match Shinenite's diff, it's pretty bad right now to be honest. Use a hitsound copy program or something for a quick and easy switch. Been meaning to do this for months
Spinners are also overused in general I like spinners and I'm pretty sure they fit

Metadata isn't correct, should be original Japanese title. Ask Kwan to check once a BN says they'll bubble, since I'm having trouble finding an official source. I've had a discussion about metadata with Kwan before, and I was told that I could either go all-English or Japanese-romanised, and I went with all-English. I have the Japanese title in the tags, so it should still show up regardless.

01:41:405 (1) - in general area (wtf it is a sin not to have one here)
01:46:860 (1) - ^ Applied every other example you mentioned. Now that you pointed them out I have no idea why I hadn't had them as finishes before, oops.

There are some general sounds that should be a clickable rhythm, rather than slider ends. Difficult to say 'fix in general' so I'll list the specific examples to make it easier.
00:21:292 (2) - Should start on the red tick, if you make the previous slider a reverse, you could change this to a 3/4 slider and do a couple spacing changes. Went with a reverse slider plus a 1/1 slider, does sound way better now.
00:36:974 (6) - Kind of an awkward pause, same thing about making the slider end clickable. Try changing the note placement and rhythm to something like this and see how that works. (Spacing is random for stuff, just a general idea) Also changed, I did quite like the spacing in the image so it's somewhat similar to that.00:42:428 (6) - This needs to be changed, the slider has to start on the red tick to emphasise the finish. Use a 3/4 slider or a 1/1 to cover this rhythm. Changed the slider to just two circles, I think that works quite well too.
01:50:780 (5) - Same thing Is circle + slider after it now.

  1. 00:32:883 (4,5,6,7,1) - This stream flows much better if 4 was stacked on 00:31:689 (1) - . Doesn't need too much readjustment because you can make it semi-blanket 00:33:564 (2) - instead. I hope I understood the wording of this properly, but I made it so the stream starts where 00:31:689 (1) - ends and made the semi-blanket with the 00:33:564 (2) - .
  2. 00:25:042 (1) - Just as a general thing, but it would be a good idea to replace some of the triples with reverse sliders. Just makes it a bit more playable as an insane diff Hmm, I don't really think it's necessary, I'd rather leave it as is.
  3. 00:39:189 (4) - Seems kind of out of the way for flow, could move in a bit Tweaked the positioning a bit.
  4. 00:45:496 (5) - Odd slider flow, try rotating it by -50 to -60 degrees Fixed.
  5. 00:47:883 (3) - There's a mappable sound here, a reverse slider can cover this and keep rhythm Sure, changed the note after to a repeat slider too since it felt a bit empty after I mapped the sound.
  6. 00:53:678 (1,2,3,4) - Odd in general to read this change, since DS gets large with smaller rhythm, that said 1,2,3 aren't equal spaced at least Changed the spacing of the 1,2,3 a bit and stacked the 3 with the 4, I think that works a bit better?
  7. 00:54:530 (4,5) - Should move closer to make it more readable as a triple just to try something I think the spacing here works fine, cause as you slide your cursor over the slider you just hit the note as well.
  8. 00:58:280 (2,3) - Can't be read as anything except a 1/1 rhythm. There's a sound on the red tick that isn't mapped, if you change 2 to a slider, it can end there and make a readable rhythm Good catch, made a 1/1 slider there instead, works a bit better now imo.
  9. 00:59:473 (6) - What's up with decreasing rhythm density in this area? These could all potentially be mapped as sliders with rhythm to support it. It's doesn't really make sense to lower density on a buildup like this. Another good point. I think for now I'll just keep this in mind for something to change if I really feel the need, but for now it works, so I'll leave it.
  10. 01:02:883 (9) - Should be a slider, has better buildup to 01:03:224 (1) - Sure.
  11. 01:03:224 (1,2) - Imo really lame that these aren't larger jumps, this is by far the most important part of the song, and yet its spacing is really small. It would fit the song much better if the circles were instead paired so 01:02:883 (9,1) - , 01:03:395 (2,3) - and 01:03:906 (4,5) - were close to each other. Applies to next set too After a bit of consideration, I went and redid all of the sections similar to the one mentioned.
  12. 01:13:110 (3) - Move this up a bit, too close compared to other spacings Fixed.
  13. 01:16:689 (1) - Doesn't make too much sense not to map the red tick here Not sure I understand this, it is mapped...?
  14. 01:30:496 (1) - Need to lower the SV here, bring it back a bit at 01:35:951 (1) - . Dunno, I think the SV works fine.
  15. 01:39:871 (5) - You could use a really low SV here. This would really emphasise the next part because of the change, imo 0.5x would be readable Ooh, I really like that idea, I changed it to 0.6x cause 0.5x felt a tad too slow for my liking, though.
  16. 01:51:121 (1,2) - Odd flow here, rotate the stream by 20 degrees should fix it. That or rotate 01:50:780 (5) - -20 degrees (ish) and move 01:51:121 (1) - up a bit. Either works Since I changed the rhythm according to the point above earlier, I'm not sure if this suggestion applies anymore, though I did rotate and move the pattern a tad.

  2. 00:31:178 (4,5) - Really shouldn't have consecutive 1/2 clickable patterns on a normal if you don't want an easy diff. Others are fine because they are slider ends, but this pattern requires double tapping. Just simplify it Simplified.
  3. 01:42:087 (3) - These sliders have to have their heads be on the finished, it's far more important than the downbeats. Fixed.
    Not modding much here because I only point out unrankable stuff on normal diffs, not my thing to mod them
