Inner Oni has recieved a slight rework, tweaking some of the streams in the non kiai part, shortening them and making it more playable and less overmapped!
Nyan
[Kantan]

Just Good. No things to mod

[Futsuu]

Futsuu usually not use 1/2 notes with different colors. But bpm of the song is slow enough, I will not touch about this.
But always remind. Using 1/2 with different colors in futsuu means "This map is really strong in futsuu."

Anyway, the map is Fine.

[Muzukashii]

01:40:891 (3,4,5,6) - can be replaced with slider
01:50:149 - add a note
02:01:120 - add a note

[IMT's Oni]

The d, k, d, k part starts from 00:11:063 (36,37) - is really boring. Needs to add some 1/2 notes to make the pattern more various

[Oni]

Intro part has some 1/4 notes to change
00:01:720 (4) - delete
00:04:634 (15) - , 00:04:806 (17) - delete
00:07:377 (25) - , 00:07:549 (27) - delete those, and make 00:07:977 (30,31,32) - ddddk
00:11:063 (49) - d

Other parts are fine.

[Inner Oni]
You need more effort to fit the patterns at the rhythm.

I didn't find any major problems with the other maps so I'm going to skip them and focus solely on the Inner Oni for you, and let other modders worry about the easier maps.

[Inner Oni]
Let me start by saying I'm sorry. I'm going to forwardly apologize for any misgivings or miscommunication in regards to explaining things. You need to understand that, while everyone else simply says "redo your map", it may sound rude but they are not wrong. I am going to slowly introduce you to something called "Music Theory". It's a simple way of saying "this is what sounds good to 95% of people when they listen to it", or that "this" group of people adore this song over another. It's an idea started waaaay back when and as continued to grow for many many generations. I would, on your own time, do some googling and research as much about the history and the theories themselves as you can. This will give you a far greater appreciation for your own maps, how they sound, how modders grade your maps, and music in general. I'm going to bring to your attention things that need to be worked on, things you can alter, options you can utilize in the same pieces, and so forth. Read with an open mind, and remember it's all just a theory. (Albeit, a very popular and widely appreciated one.)

Firstly, your map is ridiculously overmapped in my opinion. Which means you have to many notes for not enough song. I will mention places you can (or should) tone it down to make the map fit more snug with the song.

00:10:377 - Every single stream you have up to here. Remove them. I hate to break it to you, but they have no purpose and don't set any extra mood, they don't warm up the player. They are useless. The only exception is at 00:07:634 - and 00:10:377 - because they do have merit.

The entire section between 00:11:063 - and 00:16:549 - you need to find some way to have what I call a ground beat. This means find a simple pattern to have as your under-tone or your actual drum beat, then fill in the blanks with stream/extras. A good way to do this is to decide "okay, I want to have kats be the main focus for this section", or dons be the focus. Then find a simplistic drum beat you can use to follow your choice. Look up on youtube for some drum beats if you want to get an idea of what you can do. Listen for hi-hats and symbols to make Kats and drums and base beats for Dons. I see you have a decent start to this section, so you may not need to do (below mentioned), but it may help if you need it.

Once you have an idea of what you want to do, erase your entire piece. Yup, all of it. I've noticed the best way to make a section sound and feel smooth when it doesn't and you simply can't find a way to fix it, is start from scratch. It's time consuming, but 99% of the time it works. Then lay out the simple layer of beat(s) you want, as if this was a kantan or an easier map. Then put in your filler around that. Do your best to keep your stream lengths consistent and that there is no overlapping and awkward positions.

00:16:892 - to 00:19:292 - I see what you are going for, and I would say keep it consistent pattern-wise. Make them both kkkkddddk. Then as for 00:19:292 - to 00:21:520 - I also see you are keeping consistency good, but it's overlaps too much. Give a break at 00:19:377 for players to catch on and feel the new beat instead of just forcing it on them. I'm trying to say your transition from one layer to the next is very awkward. Not that the patterns or the beat is bad, but the transition is bad.

00:24:863 - I would rework this piece and keep it similar to the previous part at 00:22:034 - . Consistency will win you many fans in parts where you are overmapping. Remember, overmapping is not a bad thing, but must be done carefullly.

00:26:149 - I would use more kats for the higher frequency changes in this piece. Keep it simple, but keep it sporadic.
00:27:606 (245,246,247) - Remove these, they are unnecessary.
00:28:720 - Missed a note here entirely.
00:30:092 - Same ^.

00:30:263 - to 00:30:949 - make this the same as at 00:28:892 - while leaving some break for the player at 00:31:034 - before picking the stream back up at 00:31:634 - .
!NOTE! You do not necessarily have to leave a 1/2 beat break. short 3-plet 1/4th breaks are okay in an inner/oni map. Just make sure the transition (we talked about that a bit) is smooth still.

00:32:320 - Could make this a bit more complicated with kddkddk or something of the like. Listen to the symbols in the music to give you a good judge to base your beat on.

00:35:406 - Careful not to leave unmapped notes in an overmapped map like this.
00:38:149 - ^
00:38:663 - If you're trying to smooth out the difficulty here, best to keep them fingers warm. I'd highly recommend adding a note here.
00:39:177 - Here
00:39:520 - And here.
00:40:892 - Forgot one.
00:41:577 - Change to Kat.
00:41:920 - No finisher here.
00:42:263 - Change to Kat.

00:42:606 - I recommend altering this to bring it slowly to a big stream instead of just throwing one out there. Build it up to a stream at 00:43:292 - by using ddk ddk type patterns. Simple 3-plet 1/4ths will do here better.
00:46:720 - Same as above. Just to keep consistency.

From 00:49:463 - to 00:52:549 - or even as late as 00:53:577 - I hear a lot of 2-plet 1/4th patterns in the background of the music you could be throwing in. Spice it up before you get to your long streams again.

00:53:577 - To be honest, I could spend all night working on these long streams in this section with you, but I'd rather leave that up to you (and the BATs) on what to do here. It's your map, do what you want. Just remember what I've talked about before in the very beginning of this mod. Make sure you keep consistent beat-types and change where appropriate (ie: every 4th repetition of beat, change your beat). There is a milliion and one ways to make something like this work. That's the beauty of music theory. And you will probably always get yelled at for this, but so long as you take everyone's advice (with a grain of salt) and tweak it where YOU feel it's necessary, you'll do fine. Remember, if it doesn't sound or feel right, it isn't. Transitions are just as important as the overlaying sound and beat, and I think you did quite well for the transitions here. I will mark/mention areas of improvement for your sake though.

00:59:063 - and 00:59:234 - Change to Kats for sound?

01:05:234 (560,561,562,563,564,565,566,567,568,569,570) - This piece could be transitioned much better. To simplify, look at where your kats are placed. At first they are mostly all on white spaces (1/2 beats). You switch them to a 1/4th beat placement (red spaces) which is fine, but your method could use some work. Look at your ddd plet towards the beginning. 3-plet streams are fine to do like this, but they usually go better with another 3-plet. Or even change this piece to do a kddkddk type swap for your beat. I will show some examples:
kdddkkkdddk
kdddkdkdkdk
kddkddkkddk
Would fit much smoother in this section than pattern-at-present. Try some out and see for yourself.

01:11:749 (634,635,636,637,638,639,640,641,642) - Another transition that does not work. Shy away from using odd-numbered plets in long sets like this, to create your transition. (Nobody wants to play another Shinsekai.)

01:16:891 - Personally I dislike breaks in inner oni unless completely called for, I might use a spinner or some sparse don/kat notes here. Up to you though.

02:01:463 - Unnecessary finisher.

02:03:606 (266,267,268) - This is where you bad transitions exists in this stream, I feel.

02:08:320 - This stream has many bad transitions. Look to what I said earlier and see what you can do here. I'll leave it up to you.

02:14:491 - Also look at this stream for more bad transitions.

02:23:063 - I don't like the transition here, but honestly it plays fine for me. I would check it out/get a second opinion on it anyway.

The rest is up to you, my friend. Work on transitions and consistency and beat-layers and you'll be good to go.

hmm. i think it still needs more works. the structure is not good enough and inconsistent. at some points you followed the instrument/vokal but suddenly shifted to drum and beat (ex: 00:33:006 ~ 00:54:949). try to be more consistent. after that, the beginning of first kiai is too dense. try to reduce some notes and make 2/1 break. and try to have some consistencies with second kiai.

[Vortex's Muzukashii]
00:10:720 (32,33,34,35,36) - don't use 5-plet in muzu if it is not stand alone. if want to keep, delete 00:11:406 (37) - to give more break.

00:10:720 (32,33,34,35,36) - don't use 5-plet in muzu if it is not stand alone. if want to keep, delete 00:11:406 (37) - to give more break.
01:03:349 () - delete
01:14:320 () - delete

[IMT's Oni]
he's ded. lazy to mod. it's a good diff anyway.

[Oni]
00:09:349 (30) - finisher in the beginning of 1/4 or above snapped pattern is unrankable changed
this diff has hard pattern and streams, looks like inner lol. but fine if you have easier oni. gonna give the oni a rework since i'm deleting IMT's Oni

mmm. maybe only that from me. i still have headache.. for m4m map, please mod this. thanks!
Thx for modding!

Hello, mod request via pm. sorry for delay.. i had exam..

use normal hitsound rather than soft.

[Vortex's Kantan]
that katsus....

normal hitsound is better.
00:08:320 (14,15,16) - can add finisher to empasize the cymbal sound
00:09:692 (17) - move to 00:10:377 - and give finisher.

00:14:149 (23) - change to d and move to 00:13:806 - ?
00:27:863 (46) - change to d and move to 00:27:177 -
00:25:120 (41) - change to d and move to 00:24:777 -

00:29:577 (49) - can delete this to give more appropriate break for kantan
00:28:549 (47) - ^

00:35:406 () - change to d and move to 00:35:749 - ?
00:38:149 () - ^ and move to 00:38:492 -
and so on..... dunno. katsus are fit the song but it is ultra boring.

you don't give enough break in both kiai. try to delete notes to give some 4/1 breaks. Remapping Kantan with less kats and more breaks :)

[Vortex's Muzukashii]
00:10:720 (32,33,34,35,36) - don't use 5-plet in muzu if it is not stand alone. if want to keep, delete 00:11:406 (37) - to give more break. Well 37 is an important beat and the 5-plet is (kinda) standing alone. Will keep it in mind and change if it gets mentioned again.
01:03:349 () - delete deleting the beat right after makes a bit more sense imo
01:14:320 () - delete ^

mmm. maybe only that from me. i still have headache.. for m4m map, please mod this. thanks!

Work on transitions and consistency and beat-layers and you'll be good to go.
lolwot.... i forgot to submit my answer to ur mod, i applied nearly all of your points... it's so long ago, i don't recall what exactly i did so sry about that....
i had even written a reply but must have forgotten to post it... -.-
Anyway really nice mod and i fixed nearly all the things you pointed out D:
sorry for forgetting to post the reply

yo yo, I modded galactic and hanjamon's oni, and I'll mod the inner oni via. irc later.

Hanjamon's Oni
01:05:234 - Add a kat here to follow the piano sound more?

01:16:206 - I think adding a don here makes the triplet afterwards flow better

02:03:091 (12) - Make this a kat so it matches what you put similarly at 00:54:263 (11)?

Other Comments: Fun and solid, I couldn't really find anything else that I'd modify in this diff.

Galactic Oni
00:01:805 (8) - I don't really like this 1/6, I'd just replace it with a kat and a don respectively.

00:02:663 (15) - Make this a kat? It follows the pitch better and feels smoother.

00:02:834 (14) - Make this a finisher, as it has a strong beat behind it.

00:06:092 (9) - Make this a finisher, as you made the beat before it that followed this sound a finisher.

00:06:092 (9) - Swap this to a don and make it a finisher because of the strong beat on this tick.

00:31:634 (36) - I don't really like the way this pattern flows, I feel that maybe this would play better:

00:42:606 (126) - I don't feel as if this section really matches what's going on in the song all too well. I'd just do what you mapped at

00:47:577 (169) again.

01:17:063 (463) - I would make this part a different SV because it's a less intense section. 0.90x works well and wouldn't mess the player up.

01:18:006 (465) - I understand that you made a lot of quads, but most of them don't play on beats at all. For this part, I'd just place a kat on the red tick.

01:19:378 (470) - Delete a kat off this quad to make it a ddk?

01:22:377 (485) - ^ (the rest of the quads after this are fine, I think)

01:27:863 (1) - If you take my SV change from above, I'd make this section 0.95x, as the beat is getting a little more intense.

01:40:377 (98) - I would make this triplet a dkd to match the break-drum better.

01:40:720 (101) - Switch to k to match pitch better?

01:40:891 (102) - I'd make a long kat stream to match the drum, as it still is the strongest beat. Kind of like this:

01:41:577 (107) - If you've taken my SV mod into consideration, make this part 1.00x

Other Comments: The streams on this map were really fun to play! I tried not to mess with most of those, really. I'm sorry if this mod happens to sound redundant or nonsensical, PM me if you have any questions about it!

My part of the m4m, sorry for late since I was a bit busy.

[General]

I'll suggest tweaking the hitsounds at various parts 85%-90%. I think 100% is a bit too loud (eg: right at the start).

Move the bg down a bit so you can actually see the girl's face as well as her hand, which the artist of the image puts a certain amount of emphasis into. The image position can be changed in the .osu file in notepad here: (50 is just my suggested value).

[Vortex's Kantan]

HP drain rate should be higher due to new guidelines. In your case I would recommend HP7, the HP spread would fit well with the rest of the diffs.

00:00:606 (2,6) - imo notes like these are too much for kantan. should consider removing.
00:06:092 (10) - ^
00:07:634 (12) - should be removed if you're going to map 00:08:320 (14,15,16) - there.
00:43:634 (59) - delete, this note doesn't map anything in the song anyway. (if you moved it so it did, that would be out of the scope of kantan diff).

I think the first kiai could be improved a bit. For example, from 00:54:949 (75) - to 00:59:063 (80) - , the first half of this is blank while the second half is mapped more than what is usually considered "normal" for a kantan diff.

01:15:520 (102,103,104,105,106) - maybe too hard for kantan?

01:30:606 (5) - probably shouldn't have finisher seeing as though 01:33:349 (9) - doesn't have one despite being a note that should have one according to your previous pattern. The inconsistency seems a bit awkward when you actually play imo.

overall the diff is alright, but I really think some parts you can improve on. Not to mention that this is above the average level difficulty of Kantan (and one that I would probably make if I were you).

[Futsuu]

00:19:292 (45,46,47) - could just be me but I think this feels a bit awkward to play after the 1/1 red notes before it. suggest changing this part or (preferably) the red notes before this..? (feel free to leave it though since I can't really suggest any better arrangement)
00:24:092 (57,58,59) - is "ddk" really needed here? seems a bit too much for such a part imo.
00:26:834 (64,65,66) - same here. especially having a second set of ddk seems a bit repetitive when you consider that there isn't much in the music that calls for it.
00:30:263 (71) - change to don to match these?: 00:27:520 (67,68,69,70) -
00:37:806 (88,89,90) - same concern as before. "ddd" would suffice in this case. (yes, I know the last note is a raised vocal but the triple don notes are good for simplicity when presented to the player).
00:43:977 (102) - put finisher like 00:33:006 (78) - ?
01:01:806 (146,147,148) - I think this would suit the vocal as "kkk" more.
01:04:549 (153,154,155) - if you accept above, change these to "ddd" to reflect on the reduced vocal sounds in contrast to above notes.
01:16:891 (182) - put a finisher here? consider the break the player is entering into.
01:47:063 - could add a note here. I think the pattern of mapping/not mapping/mapping these white lines would be nice. (if you know what I mean)

that's all, the rest is fine to me.

[Vortex's Muzukashii]

00:01:120 (3) - change to don so there is a contrast from this to 00:01:634 (4,5) - .
00:03:863 (11) - same.
00:06:606 (18) - ^
00:33:006 (124) - to 00:43:635 (163) - I don't mean to sound rude, but I think you should put more of an effort into properly mapping this part instead of just copy+pasting d_k_ddk 8 times. You may be just a beginner mapper/not think of it as much but it really shows when you actually play it.
00:43:977 (165) - to 00:48:435 (180) - same here, I'm glad you used something different after (100) but d_k_ddk seems as if you were just too lazy to think of more creative patterns that could have been used.
01:36:006 (43) - could delete this and change 01:36:091 (43) - to a finisher, would sound more in-line with the previous parts.
01:40:891 (3) - could be more fitting as kkk_d or kkk_k.
01:52:377 (53) - suggest deleting this note to give players a bit of a break before that next finisher note.

[Hanjamon's Oni]

OD, HP: 5 --> 5.5. 5 seems too easy for this lol

00:02:663 (12) - I think changing to don "plays better" here. (following the melody)
00:11:406 (4) - better to change to large kat. A large don here seems a bit awkward imo.
00:16:549 (27) - meanwhile this large note seems awkward altogether, I would suggest removing the finisher element here.
00:38:492 (124) - I would suggest kat to differentiate this from stuff like 00:35:749 (112) - , 00:37:120 (118) - etc.
00:49:463 (174) - same as before.
01:00:091 (34) - imo should change to kat, this part is pretty flat in general.
01:11:063 (98) - same as before.
01:47:063 (31) - same as before about the same part.
01:58:034 (83) - ^
02:10:377 (45,46) - double kat here? I think it's suitable for the vocal sounds.

That's my part of m4m. I know it is 1 less diff than how much you looked at my mapset, but that is still plenty of suggestions for you and the guest mappers to consider :) *runs*

Good luck!
