Beta OpenGL fullscreen seems to work better than Directx for me (same framerate locked at 1440, less input lag) (i have nvidia videocard), even though i get some random little freezes.

Nice Next Osu Update M y FPs Always Been 150
Sir Lance
Tested for 1 hour, attempted to break it multiple time, failed.
+Couldnt break the game / Make it crash.
-Framerate still tends to stutter from a locked 240fps to a subtle 0fps for about half a second.

I guess this will not work on wine.

Just please don't push the OpenGL only build to Stable until Nvidia fixes their driver regarding OGL on 840M.

Trying to update to the beta stream in WINE stops me after the first update due to out of date .NET, currently. I've had huge amounts of trouble installing .NET 4 in other prefixes, so I'm not going to bother (the updater couldn't install it itself, and asked me to install it manually). This switch will lead to a native mac version, right? I sure hope so, because otherwise the day this is pushed to stable is the day I won't be able to play OSU! anymore, OTL.

i currently have no problems with this beta release. only a few stutters, framerate is still the same at 300-500 fps

This will help you: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/ ... ver-350.05

Make sure to completely uninstall your drivers etc with DDU.

It won't. I've been through every driver version since 344.75 (now on 353.06) and not a single thing has changed. I have also reinstalled Windows a few times too with no avail.

It should :/ Which error message are you getting anyways?

It worked perfectly for me. My GPU is the gtx 750.

After some updates and some researches, my Acer Aspire V5 runs osu! very smoothly on full-screen 800x600, and windowed 1064x600. Dunno why both native and borderless full-screen is laggy. The stutter in-game only appears on non-Vsync framerate.

It's not an error per se but a performance issue. Does it make sense to get 190 FPS in windowed/borderless and 41 FPS in fullscreen at the same resolution? I think it doesn't. I can't play with the input lag in windowed mode.
Ryu Sei
Also, did I forgot to say that osu! simply hungs up when the GFX driver crashes and restarts?

Oh. I thought you were getting an error message. I'm not experiencing any performance issues.

So far i have only one problem, i feel like there is a delay between when i move my mouse and when it moves in osu! The same also applies to catch the beat, when i press a key to move left/right there is a delay which makes it impossible to play at harder difficulties.

Laptop, mouse and settings:
SPOILER
Acer E1-570G
6Gb ram
Geforce GT-740M
Intel core i5-3337u 1.8Ghz-2.7Ghz
Mouse: Some canyon 1000dpi mouse

Settings:
Sensitivity: 2.0
+Raw input

Edit:
I switched back to the stable release and the delay is gone.
Ryu Sei
After updating either my system or osu! , the lag on borderless is gone. Woah.

I'm having some random stutters on the beta release client. I have previously had trouble with OpenGL regarding latency and have been directed to use DirectX. I have a single gtx 760 gpu with the latest drivers installed.
Cydr
I'm pretty sure I'm still getting input lag. My screen does turn black when I switch it to fullscreen or windowed. I also get some fps spikes around every 5 seconds. I have a Gtx 970.- On cutting edge. Seems like it's just a opengl conflict. I get extremely little "if any" noticeable input lag on fullscreen directx. On stable opengl, I still have some fps spikes and input lag even on fullscreen. -There wasn't a problem with the update process.

Lost my cursor on my old Windows XP PC. Using NVIDIA GeForce 7025 VGA. This one doesn't happens on my laptop.

Have you tried cutting edge instead?
Rickput
So uh, can I report stuff from the cutting edge build, too?

'Cuz as of the current latest CE build at the time of posting, disabling HT in replays only slows down the replay further, rather than negating the HT effects.

But as for the Beta build: Mouse clicks sometimes don't register on UI, like pause/play in editor, playback speed in replays, skip button at the start of a map, etc. This isn't in the cutting edge, so I assume it's already been fixed, just not been fixed in the other two streams. Just simply putting out information that may be useful in some way.

Not yet. Going to try it soon but dunno if that works, my ISP refuses to connect to osu! atm.
XinCrin
With the latest update, it works much better for me (Intel Hd Graphics, Integrated) :)

I have tried cutting edge and the beta release. Both have the same problem of stuttering and framedrops. I have tried multiple different nvidia drivers, defragging my hard drive, activating and deactivating aero, letterbox, windowed and reinstalling. None worked against this problem although directx runs smoothly.
Veroxx
Everything works Smooth, I have , compared to the other Verisons , more FPS and the Lag, when I change FPS limit is also fixed.
I love the new Version. Thanks :)
No problems yet.

Something is wrong. While I am playing a beatmap, the game freezes for 1 second!

If you think something is wrong with the Beta release stream, please, post it on the Issues with Latest Beta Build thread

ppy plz, try to keep DX on Windows...

On my nvidia card the lag is tremendous (20~30FPS) when using OpenGL, and on my old Intel GMA 3150 it isn't even playable! (2FPS at most).

The only PC i can play in beta/cutting edge without problems is in my gf's laptop and it's not like i can use it everytime i want.
Sayuki
Then it's time to get a new computer or just wait for new beta/CE releases.
Ryu Sei
Perfect. Now with the new letterboxing on beta my osu! could run better in performance, plus able to use custom reso (like 1360x600) without hassling to have a window.

Significant performance, but still sometimes laggy when plays a map w/ full keysound and BGA (in osu!mania).
Nevy
On Windows 10 crash if I set cutting-edge on the options tab
[SKT T1 Faker]
On win7 x64 with my AMD P320 CPU i get on stable like ~200fps.

both with beta and experimental i get a 60fps lock and constant 15ms input delay to osu, i tried to change my options so its in 800x600 but the framelock is still there. if u need any specs from me just ask

Same story here. Until Nvidia fixes their OpenGL implementation, I don't think I'll be able to play osu! anymore when DirectX is gone.

Both tested at 1920x1080, exclusive fullscreen:

DirectX (Stable):
GeForce 840M -- 200 FPS (very playable)
Intel HD 4400 -- 170 FPS (stutters with frame dips)

OpenGL (Cutting Edge):
GeForce 840M -- 31 FPS (unplayable)
Intel HD 4400 -- 170 FPS with dips to <50 FPS (highly unstable framerate)

PS: I really hate Optimus.
Nadfee
The cutting edge has definitely shown less input lag. I am a mouse player using Razer DeathAdder 2013 (1800 dpi).
I use raw input and I see that the input lag (ms) is mostly at - ms rather than 1ms when doing fast motions which is great and in comparison with the stable build it is mostly at 1ms and sometimes 2ms. I also notice this in-game when I play (I'm not sure if I should be able to feel it) that there is less input lag and I can snap better than before. Now that I've played for a couple of hours with almost no input lag I cannot go back to stable build as the input lag disturbs me ;-; (help peppy?)

Nonetheless the Cutting Edge is flawless so far and I have not encountered any problems client wise.
I am using Windows 7 - GTX 780 - i7-4770K 8GB RAM and high end components.
