BMS has the same naming as IIDX but they just put whatever for hard difficulties e.g: INFELNO, for human sequencer, ANFOHER, HARDEST, TechnoBreak etc etc, and EZ, NM, HD, SC, SHD is ez2dj/djmax era (Think it originated from ez2dj due to how old that god damn game is)

It varies between mapsets, because mappers base their difficulty names on different games, often the game a song originally appeared in.

Related thread: t/178700

These are what I know of:
IIDX: Beginner, Normal, Hyper, Another, Black Another
SDVX: BASIC, NOVICE, ADVANCED, EXHAUST, INFINITE/GRAVITY
Touhou-related: Easy, Normal, Hard, Lunatic

(It probably looks goofy to mix and match diffierent naming systems.)
My thoughts exactly. Difficulty names should fit a theme, not be packed into a set with 14 difficulties ranging from Normal, EXHAUST, Hyper, SC from all different games.

Beginner, Normal, Hyper, Another - beatmania IIDX
Basic, Medium, Hard - Reflec Beat
BASIC, ADVANCED, EXTREME - Jubeat
NOVICE, ADVANCED, EXHAUST, INFINITE/GRAVITY - SDVX, depending on which game it came from
NM, HD, MX, SC - DJMAX and other stuff

I just wanted to post it somewhere for future reference. This seems the best place to do at the time.

11 - 12 Star: TYC
Tachyon: The highest star map I saw anyone play and not fail. As of right now, my predictive analysis on players' skill level shows that this is the max passable (7k). If you can do higher, you are probably not human.
you obviously haven't seen M A S maps
I passed a 16 star map of his fite me irl
besides the fact that your calculations or whatever you're doing are wrong

I have no idea how to start searching for these kind of stuff. They have no tags, so I come across them accidentally while browsing profiles. Perhaps this deserves it own topic. I will leave the comment as is, but I do plan editing it later. Edited.

no, this doesn't deserve another topic because passes in osu!mania aren't counted as real passes in vsrg community.
Resonnance
how about GRV for GRAVITY
xch00F
tachyon as a difficulty rating lmao
EtienneXC
I had no clue more than half of these even existed, lol.

I don't know anything about these, so i'm just taking everyones word blindly, sorry :/
Should i remove Tachyon?
xch00F
honestly I think it might be a better solution to make a topic that proposes community suggested difficulties
