If the current thousand is at an odd number (e.g. 3xxx, 5xxx, 7xxx, etc.), we count down!
Vice versa for even numbers. (we count up in this case!)
The last posted number must add up to the next thousand! (e.g. post 7283 should be 717, as 7283+717 totals up the next thousand, 8000)
