OP has been updated, please read carefully.
I understand your concern but this way the matches will be "fairer" until the grand final, it's makes for better games to start with.Bentobito wrote:
Having the seedings be arranged by ranks, isn't that kind of bad?
As the Finals will be Victor Higher ranks vs Victor Lower ranks and the only match in the tournament with the higher ranks vs lower ranks.
Maybe IMHO the seeds should be more randomized
(sorry for my bad explanation but is it understandable?)

What you've explained is how the previous tournament was structured, and people complained. They've flipped it to make those people happy. Doesn't matter what you do, someone will have an unfair game at some point.Bentobito wrote:
stuff
* In the event of a tie on a particular map, that map will become void and no participant will be rewarded with a win. What happens if both players fail? Is that a tie?
* A revived score is a counted score. If you have failed at the end of the map however, and your opponent is alive then you will have lost.
* Each participant will take turns in selecting a map from the map pool until a winner has been decided. How is a winner decided? First to 4?
If this happens, the player with the higher score wins.ScreamingHawk wrote:

I haven't fully decided on this but I was thinking a BO7 (first to 4) for up to the semi's where it will maybe be BO9 then the gf which would be BO11ScreamingHawk wrote:

What! There's no flashlight map pool.

How will the map difficulty system work? There are some high level people as well as low level in the tournament. How will you decide what maps are right?
I've been thinking about this because I knew it was going to be a bit of a problem. My current solution is to have two map pools, one for the upper bracket and one for the lower bracket. If anyone else has any suggestions feel free to share.[ Wolfy ] wrote:

What if a lower rank player gets matched against a higher one...?EmeraldStar82 wrote:

The top half of the tournament has the higher ranked players and lower half the lower ranked, so the extreme cases of this won't happen (until near the finale at least). Do like the idea of having different pools for each bracket.[ Wolfy ] wrote:

What I meant is that if someone say 200k+ (I think there's a couple) gets matched with someone sub 30k,ScreamingHawk wrote:

I was able to clear my opponents top play songs and we are 20k rank different. As long as the maps in my match are sub 4.5 star I think will be fun will both of us.
I'm coming for you - Karamu -
It will be released when I get home from school c:[ Wolfy ] wrote:
So hyped. Map pool!
The person that chooses the map decides the mods for both players.ScreamingHawk wrote:
Can you confirm how freemod works? or each player picks their own mods? Also is nomod a valid freemod choice? What about flashlight?
Fixed.TheJimnebob wrote:
Also the map pack lower leads to the upper one.
