I've noticed along my travels of the RSI path that many players that play osu! have different reasons for doing so. Some it's only for fun, some it's only to attain the highest rank possible, some have fun trying to attain the highest rank possible, and that's perfectly fine. On the other hand, I'm sure at least of us have some sort of stigma in the osu! community, or perhaps within the game itself that turns you off from playing.
For me, it's a bit of mindless fun. After playing for eons the muscle memory has made playing osu! something that can be done with little to no mental activity, allowing my mind to wander off. Kind of like showering, I heard doing menial tasks helps with epiphanies from a friend.
My biggest pet peeve in osu! is when, especially on Multiplayer, the skill of a player is criticized for no apparent reason. It's becoming less common now, but sheesh pls just have fun
