Well hey guys, the name's Patrick, but i'd like to go with my internet alias "Darki" , or "Breeze".
I am usually a Stepmania gamer, and what can i say.. im a freaking beast and cracked ppbbly any difficult chart out there.
That being said i came to hear something about "osumania", which should be something like stepmania?
The Reason is that it actually comes with a nice ranking system ( as far as i have heard), the "competetive" gaming community for Stepmania is ppbbly FlashFlashRevolution, but i dont like the ranking system over there at all, the massive amount of cheaters during its creation days did their job of driving me away as well.

I just want to know whether you guys could tell me something about it, and whether it has a stable playerbase as well, since im actually not interessted in the "normal" osu clickedy-click mode. (no hate xD)

I'm actually an "easy to go with" person, that likes watching movies and even Animes here and then (and that with the age of 25 ... YES!)
So if there is anything you might want to know about me, feel free to hook me up ;)

You have a background at other games like it, so you'll probably end up getting really high in the rankings. :D

Guess i will start playing later that day, Dl-ing stuff and give it a shot.

Btw:
Are you allowed to create own files for Osu!mania?, and do they have a chance to get into the ranking batches if they are popular?

Since you are a SM player, you'll probably want to set your game to upscroll mode in the options menu. You should probably also look into getting an arrow-skin to emulate that SM style even more authentically - I guess you could ask Staiain for his skin, it seems to be working quite well.

If you are really as good as you claim to be in your opening post, here are some of the hardest ranked 4k charts at the moment (there are also plenty of unranked ones that are even harder):

And yes, you can map your own charts and try to get them ranked. Check out the wiki for ranking criteria and information on how the ranking system works.

I believe you can get Staiain's skin by typing !skin in his twitch chat (twitch.tv/staiain)
Might only work if he's online though, not sure if his bot is online right now.

(Apparently you have to go into 7k before you start or the arrows end up really stretched, like the start of the video)

Welcome to the osu community! You can probably find a skin to emulate stepmania but I would suggest you just play with the normal mania skin or find one made for mania.

Thanks so far for the skin pack , it worked but i still dont get how to get the arrows into normal size when playing 4 Keys.
In addition to that the beat seems somewhat offset for some songs, what is weired, the sound is like -10-14 ms , which is a fucking lot.

Edit:
i fixed the offset, seems -12 is working wonders, still i need the arrows to get into their normal size.., hope i find a way, if i manage to fix that im good to go =)

You need to play a 7k map to make the keys size normally, is what I hear. So play a 7k map and exit and then play a 4k.

Yet it seems i cannot fix the issue with the giant arrows ...

Dont worry, its never too late ;D

Slow but surely im vgetting used to the osu!mania feeling here.., yet i still need some more weeks ;D
