They may be a failure in natural selection, but ever since modern medicine, humans have defeated natural selection. They are not a threat to our genetics, because they are an extreme minority, and societies no longer make them feel forced to hide, therefore making them less likely to reproduce. They are not necessarily a disorder, since when is being homosexual, bisexual, etc posing a threat to anyone? You compare them to pedophiles, many of which go out of their way to exploit children. I don't see homosexuals exploiting members of the same gender. Not to mention that pedophiles are primarily attracted to humans that are not of sexual maturity while homosexuals are attracted to those of sexual maturity.
