I know most anime is 720p, but some are created closer to 1080p than 720p.
However, certain TV sets come 2160p and can tinker with 1080p till they look native 2160p.

Do you go for 480p, 720p or 1080p?
If you had an FHD-upscaling TV set (must be compatible with H264 Hi10P AAC), would you still go for 1080p or go 2160p?

I say 720p unless the Anime's graphics are worth the extra pixels.

Off-topic but on-topic: I saw an LG UHD TV here, probably 49UB850T, with HDMI 2.0 and that upscales 1080p to 2160p with H265/AAC support, only for 6.5K L.E (less than $1K), and I became excited enough I wanted to try Love Live! @ 4K...oooohh doki doki~!!

I only watch on my Monitors And they are both 1920x1080. When 1080p is available then sometimes I just get it, else always 720p. Its enough for me and doesn't make a real difference to 1080p on the monitor. For older Animes I don't mind 480p though.
I'm not a videophile so this is basically all I need. Not gonna spent anything for expensive devices.
I'm happy as long as I can watch the Animes I want to watch ^^.

Well I can't see any differences between 1080p and 720p on where I watch (An old pc monitor and a tablet) so I always go for the latter. Maybe I would prefer 1080p for Ghibli movies I dont know. Most animes don't worth the extra bandwidth and space.

720p-1080p depending on what I find.

I'd stick to 1080p.

Imo, contents work better at their native resolution.

1080p when available

720p if im trying not to take all the bandwidth

720p because files are smaller and 1440x900 display anyway.

480p-720p... Mostly 480p if my internet are bad.

720p if I'm watching stuff that's currently-airing, since most anime is typically not actually made in 1080p. I'll look into 1080p when watching the blurays, but that's a different scenario (sometimes depends on the quality of the upscale or the actual animation quality of the show itself).

Sticking to 1080p but if not avaiable, 720p is like... must have for me to watch.
Older anime titles sometimes have their "good point" with 420p resolution. Reminds old days watching them in TV/VHS ^^.

People's taste aren't always the same. There are some people would rather choose quantity than quality. and there are the opposite, some people would rather choose quality than quantity.
720p and 1080p are indeed have a great quality. However it doesn't mean 480p is bad to be watched. 480p is fine eventhough it isn't as great as 720p/1080p.
I've been download 480p lately since my hard drive is slowly becomes thin.
And I think 480p isn't that really difference to 720p or even 1080p.

We're only talking about computer resolution for anime. It doesn't really have to do with people's taste, unless you're saying you prefer low definition anime? And quantity over quality really only applies if the quality is hindering the amount you can download, which can be the case with some people, but certainly not with most.

I'm kinda curious as to what your computer resolution is, because the difference between 480p and 1080p on a 1080p monitor is massive. Just the default size that windows media player opens it at shows the difference between the two resolutions.

This isn't meant to be a salty post if it came across as one. ;w;

720p is what I usually go with.
I usually just watch anime on my computer so I find going 1080p doesn't do much for me but take up more space on my external hard drive.
