Tablet is easier because it has absolute positioning. Also no need to worry about your mouse flying off somewhere and readjusting in the middle of a map. The effects would be easily recognized by the average user. Unless of course if you are already extremely good at mouse.
Of course the above differences only really matter/show after a certain level of difficulty, not talking about easy maps.

I'd just like to remind you that on the two 7+ star maps Can't Defeat Airman and Freedom Dive, first place is held by players both being mouse players (yes Cookiezi has also FC'd these two, but he is an exception because of how godly he is)xTr1gger wrote:

In reality, no, we just think tablets make you better because lots of pros have them, when it's personal preference.

it's easier because you don't have to deal with the requirements of a decent mouse setup when using a tablet
e.g a decent mouse sensor (it's 2015 tho really ez to get a decent mouse for less than $60)
mouse drift (can be countered if you learn how to reposition)
inconsistent surface on mousepad (you'll get used to it if you play mouse for a long time anyway)
desk space (so the mouse cable doesn't get stuck inbetween books or monitor stand or your figma waifu's panties)
a comfortable grip (although subjective, i have more trouble figuring out a comfortable pen grip than a mouse grip, but i'm assuming the reason why mouse players turn to tablet is either because they gave up easily or they're not comfortable with their mouse grip)

i really do wish to see a mouse player with equal aim to cookiezi or omgforz

I don't really get why people taling about that so much. If you have comfortable mouse with good DPI and mousepad, you can be at same level as tablet players. I think more important is singletap/stream skills. Mouse want only more training and practice, tablet is only faster way how to get better, nothing more.

Or maybe they're not and that's why there's less of them.
I played both for about equal time (started with tablet and now back to tablet), as well as play the same level of maps, but in the end I switched back because mouse drift was ruining my consistency. People go through the trouble of reducing milliseconds of delay, but adjusting for mouse drift will take longer than a few milliseconds. In my opinion tablet is easier, not better though (mouse snapping is beautiful).
